Forgot She Existed

By the time Evelyn's injuries got checked and dressed by the doctor, her parents arrived. Her round blue eyes were watery when she spotted them standing.

Without wasting a second longer, she ran towards her mom. Amelia kneeled down and hugged her daughter. The most precious piece of her had finally returned to her arms.

Amelia had never felt so much content.

"My baby," she said, holding back the tears threatening to spill.

Evelyn was glad to see her mom safe and sound without even a scratch on her body. The fear of her mom being badly hurt gnawed at her insides, making her feel sick.

But now, all of that had dissipated to relief.

She was safe, and her mom was as well.

Everything would end good if nothing happened to Aaron.

Pulling away from the hug, Evelyn looked at her dad. Despite the short amount of time she had known him for, a strong bond formed between them.

She extended her hands, and he picked her up then.
