"It was the rose thorns. I wasn't being careful. You know how Lucy can get dramatic. She wrapped it up in such an exaggerated manner," Evelyn said. Her voice coming out more hoarse and grumpier than she expected.

"It's not like you to be not careful. What's the matter?"

"You are just overthinking it. I am not a machine. I have my careless moments as well, just not as much as you," Evelyn stated.

"Hey! By the way, you won't believe—"

Edgar's excitation dimmed down when he noticed disinterested expression on Evelyn's face. He was familiar with this look of her.

She did it when she was greatly upset and had something weighing down eh heart. He frowned at the thought of something troubling Evelyn.

"Something happened, right? Did any bastard hurt you? Just give me their names, and I will be beating each one of them to pulps. How dare they make you sad?" Edgar sounded serious.
