It was already morning when I woke up. The beautiful sun rays passed through the curtains as if it was saying a good morning. I dragged myself to the bathroom to have my bath and brush. While taking my bath, I heard my phone ringing making me wrap the towel around my chest to come and check who the caller was. I got surprised seeing Aikens in my room with my phone in his hands. I felt shy since I was only in a towel and my body was wet too.
"Good morning ", he greeted seeing the look on my face.
"How did you get in here?", was my response.
"Shouldn't you at least respond to my greetings first?", he asked putting on a sad expression which I knew was fake.
"Fine. Good morning. Now tell me how you got in here or what you are doing here"
"I've waited for you to open up since I was knocking but you weren't coming so I decided to come in"
"You know aunt wouldn't like to see us like this right?"
"Yeah I know, I'm leaving. Hurry up and come out", he turned to leave still holding my phone.
"Wait, who called my phone?"
"Never mind ", he said handing the phone to me.
"If you say so, now get out". He stood staring at me instead of leaving. I tried pushing him out but he kept refusing to leave. I tried harder making my towel fall off my chest to the floor. Feeling shy that he had actually seen my nakedness, I ran back to the bathroom leaving the towel behind.
'Oh gosh, what do I do when I see him out. I feel so ashamed of myself. Shouldn't I have just left him alone?', I scolded internally. I shoved the thought away and continued my bath. I wore a blue body con jam suit which Aikens had selected for me the day we went out for shopping after o was done taking my bath.
I went downstairs to have my breakfast when I saw him sitting alone behind the table without aunt and Jazzy. I walked shyly to sit then started eating without turning to look at him. We ate in silence till he decided to break it.
"I'm sorry for what happened earlier", he apologized. I didn't utter even a single word to show I was even listening to what he was saying.
"I said I'm sorry Annie ", he repeated with my name. I hated it whenever he mentioned my name like that but what could I do.
"Did something happen earlier?"
"Stop it Annie, I know you don't feel comfortable", he was indeed telling the truth but I didn't want him to blame himself for it.
"Did you see anything?", I finally asked .
"Of course I …. I mean not at all", he was fast enough to change his speech after I shot him a killer look making me giggle.
"Good to hear that"
"So we cool now?"
"Not yet", I replied .
"What do I have to do now?"
"Atone for your crimes with a kiss, and a holy one at that". Without complaining, he did as was instructed.
"Good now?", he asked getting a nod from me.
"Yeah. Let's get going now", I said and rose up from my chair.
We headed towards the door when I remembered we had not informed anyone about our walk.
"Don't you think we should let aunt know we are going out?", I asked him.
"She's already aware of it", was his response.
He headed out leaving the car behind because we were going for a walk not a drive. We walked for sometime till we got to a very familiar building. It felt like I had entered the house before but my memory failed to remember the details. As I tried hard to remember, I stopped moving unconsciously.
"Babe. Why ain't you coming?", Aikens asked when he noticed I wasn't moving.
"This place feels so familiar ", I replied still trying to remember.
"Of course it will feel, didn't you grow up here?"
"I did but this feeling is so strange"
"It's nothing, let's just go", he said and pulled me along by the wrist.
"Excuse me. Are you looking for someone?", we head a voice speak behind us making us turn together to check the person who just spoke.
"Not at all, just passing", Aikens was fast to respond. The person who just asked that question looked so familiar but I couldn't figure out who he was until I saw a mark on his face. Taylor had the same birth mark on his cheek, a black mole.
A sharp pain pass through my heart as if I had been pierced with a spear. Even though I wasn't sure he was the one standing in front of me, I still felt the pain with the thought of him crossing my mind.
