Chapter 10: Learning

Valor sat and taught me all of the basic skills. I found that mind linking was very easy for me and I already shielded not wanting to speak with Oliver. The hearing also came easy. We where going to meet up at Joe's for my final lesson in transformation, and until then I hung out with Paco.

He left me alone for the most part and made me tea. I sat there till it was dark. As I was about to leave the door jingled downstairs and I knew it was Oliver by the smell. Paco raised his hand and told me to stay ad he desended down into the surf shop. I listened in as he hit the bottom. "Where is she? She has to know I didn't do or wouldn't do anything." Oliver explained as I heard Paco ring a bell. I imagined him ringing it in his face. "She knows what she saw, and you didn't react quite as fast as you could have." I could only imagine what his face looked like as I felt him in my head.

"Gemma please talk to me. I should have just kicked her out, but I honestly thought it was you coming back and messing around." I groweled back through the line. "When have I ever moaned like that or sounded like that. I am not a desperate whore or as foward as that. Fuck your excuses. I'm going out tonight and going to let a man touch me. See how you like it." A loud bang sounded down stairs and he was pounding up the stairs. I quickly exited Paco's shop and ran down the beach.

The anger had taken over and my bones started to shift uncontrollably. I started to hear his foot steps and turned looking down I saw my blond fur. I looked more like a dog and I was small, but I snapped at him before running.

Valor stood by Joe's when I approached. "Oh Gemma." She glanced around before running inside grabbing some clothes and tossing them into the Jeep. "Get it Gem. I'm going to take you out to run and we will talk after." I growled and she opened the door. "Hurry he's coming." I jumped in without another word and we pulled out of the driveway to see a black wolf standing by Joe's. "Gemma!" He cried as Valor speed backwards out of the driveway. She drove past the cliffs and into a Park. "I come here to get away. She opened my door and I got out. "This part you usually do with your mate, but I will explain. Emotions like anger, fear, and frustration can make your wolf come out in a vicious way. Its easier to focus on the color, the texture of your fur, the feeling of being a wolf." She slid off her dress and tossed her sandals into the jeep.

She started to bend and before I knew it she was a wolf. A russet brown with black ends. "Come on let's run it out." She sounded in my head as she nipped at my paws. I took off and she chased me through the trees. When I was tired she tackled me and we started playing pulling on each other's tails and neck. I started to enjoy the feeling of being so free. A thought of Oliver entered and I laid down. Valor tried to get me to play again, but I was sad and just wanted to be. She laid next to me and licked my snout laying her head over mine.

Another wolf joined us and I stood up. "Calm down Gemma this is Jacob I called him." He nodded and laid on top of us. Getting us all playful again. He wad super fast and I started hiding behind things to get away from him. He sent laughter down his line near my head and Valor's was near my shoulder. She taunted him so I could run and find another spot. It was almost dawn before I collapsed from playing. Valor licked me before turning back and Jacob was already dressed.

"Okay Gemma you need to turn back now. Try to imagine your beautiful curls, how it is to be human, you're toes and hands. Imagine your fur receding and you coming back." I nodded and stood up. I closed my eyes and I felt. My bones snapped and bent, but it wasnt as painful this time. It took a while but eventually I was there and Valor handed me clothes. Thankful I tossed on the sweats and the tank top. She laughed as my chest was bigger then hers and popped out at the top. "Here." She handed me her sweatshirt to cover them up.

I slipped it on over my head and we walked to the Jeep hand in hand. "You feel better?" Valor asked and I shook my head. "Well I do, but I think it's just that I am tired. I definitely don't want to go back yet." She opened the jeep and she climbed up into the back. "Well you can stay at our house. I'll grab some of your clothes from..." I nodded knowing I had already moved most of my clothes to Oliver's.

She squeezed my shoulder as Jacob drove us back towards Joe's. "Jacob, did you ever do anything like that to Valor?" Valor glanced at Jacob. "No not with another woman, but I did make her lie to the cops once, and I almost killed her." I turned in my seat.

"You lied to the cops?" She nodded and glanced at Jacob. "I did, but I did it for us all. I needed to protect our family ,our secret." I nodded understanding her loyalty. "I probably would have to then." I said as he drove past the cliffs. I saw Oliver there as a wolf sniffing the ground. We drove by and his head snapped to the yellow Jeep.

He howled and Valor huffed. "He's crying." She said as Jacob slowed down. "Get him. I'll take her to grab clothes and bring her home." She kissed him and jumped from the Jeep. Jacob took off back down the road and I watched as she approached Oliver. "Would you forgive him if you where me?" Jacob sat back and tossed me a look. "You know he didn't do anything. Yeah he was slow to react, but as a guy if that happened I'd find myself shocked more then I would be thinking. I have never had feelings for a woman like I do with Valor. I doubt he has had the feelings he has for you, with any woman. Bri is a snake and a manipulator. She's been after Oliver since he moved here and their relationship started because she kept hounding him. Your relationship started out of love."

I nodded as he pulled up to Oliver's house. "Grab what you need they'll be back soon." I got out of the Jeep and hesitated. "I'll just stay here and face him, if I go I'd just be putting it off and hiding." He nodded and I closed his door. "Thanks Jacob." I said before I turned. "You know you can always come and hang out, or crash. Our place is always open to you." I nodded and walked inside the dark house.
