October first I got my promotion and became Lieutenant. On October eighth Bronco got his promotion and statted studying for his next one. He had been so proud marching in to show me his score, all his negative feelings towards me gone. "Guess working for a woman has benefits." He smiled, and took his leave.
October twelfth our loves changed for the better once again. We held our first little girl named Faye Delilah Sterling. She was dropped on our door step with a note from Bri saying she didn't want sad goodbyes and all that with a little heart. Her paperwork tucked on the side of her brown and white cushioned bassinet. I honestly didn't think we would ever see Bri again, but who knew what that woman was thinking.
As soon as I scooped the bassinet basket up I was in love. Her eyes the same two toned as her father's and a blonde curl at the top of her head. Oliver's doubt had evaporated as soon as she opened her eyes and he let out a gasp. Ever since I knew she would have him wrapped around her finger.
I smiled as I watched him walk her around the house showing her the house as of she understood. The last stop being her new nursery. It was all in muted tones and honestly I couldn't have done a better job then those guys did. Two cribs a vanity and mirror. Beautiful boho decor all accented in creams and mauve pinks. The chandelier was my favorite part with the fringe that dangled from the wooden beaded strings made by Mike.
On October nineteenth I gave birth to our youngest daughter Paisley Rae Sterling. She had brown little curls like me and honey brown eyes. She was smaller then her sister, but she was definitely more stubborn. She had already tried multiple times to flip over in her crib.
Our life had suddenly become very busy, and having Zane there saved us from a lot of work. I knew he missed Leah, and as I carried the babies for their daily walk I decided to stop by. The girls where already a few weeks old and the November air whipped through me.
I knocked on the door and Leah opened the door reaking of junk food and depression. "Hey, want to go for a walk?" She shook her head and went to close the door. "Leah wait." Leah opened the door and I held on to the straps of the carriers. "Will you talk to me?" She huffed and opened the door further. "Want to tell me what is really going on with you?"
She slapped the door closed and threw herself onto the couch. "I don't know. I miss Zane, but I hate that he just won't love me for who I already am. And sure I want to change, but I'm scared." I slid into a cushion and careful not to squish Paisley who was on my back. "Okay well why are you scared?" She ran her fingers theoighbher hair. "I'm not strong like you or as fearless as Valor. I'm scared to die." I nodded and I looked down at the girls. "I see, but I didn't make the choice lightly and I talked to Valor and Paco before making the choice. Pacos advice was that if you love your wolf more then yourself you will survive."
"I just want to make the choice myself and not be asked everyday. I want pups and it seems everyone is starting without me." I nodded knowing Valor was also pregnant and awaiting her pup due in December. "Mark and Mike don't have mates yet." I said as she rolled her eyes. "Yeah I guess that's true." I shrugged and I smiled. "Who are you racing anyway?" She laughed and sat up. "No one I just thought me and Valor would have kids together. You know let them grow up and be friends. Like we did." Leah huffed again and pushed her hair back.
I nodded understanding her sadness to a degree. It would be hard to see everyone moving on and further into their life. "Well you aren't going to get pregnant eating this stuff while your mate is over at our house, although thr babysitting is top knotch." Leah laughed and I found myself smiling. "True he has always loved kids. And I do want one." She jumped up and I put out my hands.
"Woah you can't go over there and let him see you like this. Shower and I'll clean up down here. Dress hot." I winked and she looked down at her stained sweatshirt and pants. "Good idea she said as she ran up the stairs and I started picking up glasses, empty and unempty bags of chips. Apparently she really loved cheetos.
When Leah was done I was just finishing up vacuuming. "You look great!" I exclaimed as she twirled in her tie dyed two piece outfit. She showed me the slit on the side and I knew Zane would love it. We walked back together tonsee Zane folding onsies as Oliver folded towels and blankets. "Hey I'm back." Neither one looked up as they piled the laundry. "You took a longer walk then normal." Oliver said as he glanced up and tapped Zane.
Zane stood up knocking over a pile. "I had to make a pit stop first, but the girls need to eat. Will you make them a bottle each and I'll meet you up there?" Oliver nodded as Leah walked over to Zane. "I'm sorry. She started as I ran up the stairs to give them privacy. I unstrapped one baby at a time laying them in their wooden rockers and hanging up the carriers.
Oliver meet me in their room with a grin. "You are amazing you know that woman?" I laughed and snatched the bottled. "Guess you and your charm is rubbing off on me." I smiled and turned as he slapped my ass and groweled. I laughed and sat between the chairs. I held the bottles to the girls mouths just as Faye started to cry, and as they drank quickly. Oliver took Paisley and I took Faye to burp them and lay them down for a nap.
"Did you find out what her deal was?" I shook my head and put my finger to my lips. As we listened in, but neither one of us heard anything until we heard someone on the stairs. Zane opened the door. "I'm gonna go back with Leah, but I wanted to thank you both for having me and you know letting me feel helpful." A huge burp erupted from Faye. We all laughed and I stood up as Paisley spit up a mouthful of milk before burping. "Well I'd say you where helpful, and you where amazing with the girls. If you ever need anything or to come back you and Leah are always welcome here." Zane nodded and gave Oliver who now stood beside me a high five.
"Thanks man. And woman." He smiled and ran back down the stairs. I heard Leah shriek as the backdoor opened and shut. "They are going to be alright I think." I turned to lay Faye down and Oliver did the same with Paisley. We switched to kiss them and headed downstairs to rest and lock up. I was the happiest I had ever been and it was a journey I was ready to tackle with my mate. Enjoying the time we all shared as a family.
