45th Break: Affair  

Meng Xing's hand picking up the tea paused. "I see." He muttered and sipped his tea.

"We already told Jiang Xu to tell the Writhing Snake Gang that it was Lin Ze who killed Ah Yu." Qiu Yi spoke. "The Writhing Snake said that if Lin Ze could return the dagger of Ah Yu to them, and the other member's dagger." he said.

"Tell Lin Ze about it." Meng Xing said.

"Yes." Qiu Yi nodded.

"What about the Lonely Wolves Gang?" Meng Xing asked.

"Jiang Xu said that they had a clean break with Jin Peng when Jin Peng left." Qiu Yi answered. "After all, Jin Peng wasn't originally from jianghu." He said.

"I see…" Meng Xing muttered. "How about that female practitioner who poisoned Meng Ruyan?" he asked.

"Qiu Shisi has already made his arrangements." Qiu Yi answered.

"Is there any update from Qiu Liu or Qiu Qi?" Meng Xing asked as he picked up a pastry and ate it.

"Qiu Qi said that they have already placed some people to act as servants of the Yang family and find if Xu Ran was there." Qiu Yi answered. "Meanwhile, Qiu Liu found out that Madam Xu was having an affair, and was actually caught by Xu Ran." He told Meng Xing.

"Oh?" Meng Xing smiled. "Then, Xu Ran's disappearance must be due to her?" he asked.

"I suspected, too, but Qiu Liu said that Madam Xu is becoming more frantic about Xu Ran's disappearance." Qiu Yi said. "So, I don't think that it was her who caused for Xu Ran to disappear." He told Meng Xing.

"If it is not the mother, then it is the father." Meng Xing casually said.

"Yes. Qiu Liu said that he had been frequenting a shop lately." Qiu Yi looked at Meng Xing. "But, he didn't buy anything." He said.

Meng Xing's eyes narrowed. "A meet-up place?" he said.

"We guess." Qiu Yi answered. "This shop was also near where Wen Liao was killed." He added. Then, he hesitated. "Could it be that this person that Mr. Xu is meeting with the one who killed Wen Liao?" he asked.

"Maybe." Meng Xing just said. "Did Qiu Liu see who did Mr. Xu meet up with?" he asked.

"No." Qiu Yi shook his head. "In fact, no one approached him who could be the person he is meeting up with." He said. "Qiu Liu and the others checked the people who were in the shop and none of them are suspicious." He told Meng Xing.

"So to say, this person must have stopped meeting with Mr. Xu – " Meng Xing spoke. " – or, he never met him to begin with?" he said.

Qiu Yi's eyes flashed when he thought of something. "Could it be, he was instructing Mr. Xu through other methods?" he asked. "Letters?" he said.

Meng Xing lowered his gaze. "I remember, Xu Ran is an author?" he said.

"Yes." Qiu Yi answered.

"Check the publishing houses, find where she is cooperating, and ask if they sent her a letter." Meng Xing said.

"Yes!" Qiu Yi nodded and took note of it.

"Then, that's all." Meng Xing spoke and fixed his clothes before he walked out from behind the folding screen. "I will be going back to the Meng residence." He said.

Qiu Yi froze. "But, boss… that female practitioner…" he muttered.

"Wouldn't Lin Ze be catching her?" Meng Xing said.

"Yes…" Qiu Yi said and helplessly sighed. He is worried that the poison would act up again.

"I will just look for something in the Meng residence, that's all." Meng Xing explained after he saw the worried expression on Qiu Yi's face. "After that, I will go back here." He said.

Qiu Yi's eyes brightened and a smile appeared on his face. "Then, boss, I will have someone send you to the Meng residence." He said.

"En." Meng Xing nodded as they went out. What he didn't expect is for a mishap to happen while he is on his way.

"It is not her." Qiu Shisi muttered when he saw that the female practitioner has no reaction after he had his subordinate brought her to the shop which Mr. Xu frequented in order to meet someone.

This female practitioner is not the one who Mr. Xu, who they suspected is involved in Wen Liao's case, was trying to meet. This female practitioner really is just focused in killing Meng Ruyan. This means that there were other practitioners in the capital that is colluding with Mr. Xu. If this practitioner is not the one who killed Wen Liao and just approached Mr. Xu for some other reason that involves Wen Liao, then there is another practitioner in hiding that killed Wen Liao, and might have that thing that the jianghu is looking for.

If this practitioner is not in the capital anymore, then that is better.

"What are you talking about?" Lin Ze asked when he arrived and saw Qiu Shisi muttering.

"Nothing." Qiu Shisi answered.

"Where is she?" Lin Ze asked, getting down the business.

"There." Qiu Shisi answered and pointed inside the shop where his subordinate who approached the female practitioner is suggesting some clothes to the female practitioner, who is now showing her impatience.

Lin Ze didn't ask how they found the female practitioner and just went inside the store to finally catch the female practitioner. Qiu Shisi also didn't explain it to Lin Ze and just watch him go inside the store. How he wanted to pummel this woman to the ground for harming their boss, but he can't change the personnel of this clothes store with his subordinates, since they don't want to alert the practitioner who was working with Mr. Xu.

And so, today, an accident happened. No one expected – Lin Ze, Qiu Shisi, and his subordinate, for the female practitioner to suddenly react so much when he saw Lin Ze who was wearing an officer's uniform. The female practitioner suddenly rushed towards Lin Ze.

Lin Ze immediately reacted and tried to grab the female practitioner. Meanwhile, Qiu Shisi's subordinate immediately pushed the customers to hide and left the female practitioner to Lin Ze.
