From Monster to Pervert

*************

CHAPTER 12

Xavier's eyes twinkled with mirth as he gazed into her shock-filled eyes but remained convincingly silent to her question.

According to him, it was useless answering the obvious when she already knew the answer to her own question.

And he expected her to be thankful, had he not done what he did, she would have been a wreck, suffering an immeasurable amount of pain due to her own mistakes.

Although she brought it upon herself, he could not bring himself to watch her go through it.

"I asked a question!" Raven hollered at him, ignoring the fact that he could hurt her at any given second.

"And I chose to ignore it," Xavier's responded calmly to her dismay.

Her chest rose and fell with much effort as her lips parted slightly, before pulling them to the side in disbelief.

Never in her life had she had anyone try to feed her their blood but he did.

Although something about him doing so could clearly explain to her why she felt so energized and all her pain, gone.

Regardless, he was a monster sealed for millennia and now he had broken out.

There was no doubt his blood was tainted.

However, with that thought, she wondered, why then did his blood hold such curative qualities till now?

Trying to make sense of what was going on, Raven lifted her eyes once more to his. That smirk and the glint in his eyes made her anger rise.

She tried her best to hide the rage that was boiling deep down in her heart as it begged for release.

He was close to her and that singular act was warning enough for her lest he did something out of her control.

While she battled with her inner thoughts, Xavier took hold of her moment of distraction to reach for her head with his fingers.

The moment the tip of his fingers grazed the side of her forehead, Raven was immediately pulled out of her thoughts and subconsciously she tilted her head back in shock.

"Relax."

He tried once more but her fingers latched on to his wrist quickly, preventing him from trying anything else as her eyes mirrored a menacing glare.

Rather than feeling offended, a light smile danced at the corners of his lips as he lowered his gaze from her head to where she held firmly on his wrist.

"I guess you are all right seeing how strong your grip is," Xavier noted to her before moving his hand back but her grip refused to grant him any escape route.

Without uttering a word, he tore his gaze from her slim fingers, bringing them to her face as he held her gaze.

No words were formed but their eyes spoke and they fought their battle for them.

After some seconds, Raven felt he understood her threat, and she finally let go before diverting her eyes from his.

"I wouldn't have gotten hurt had you not set up the barrier."

His smile widened at her excuse. She wanted to play a battle of words to appeal to his conscience. Little did she know, she was thousands of years too late.

Shaking his head, Xavier corrected, "I warned you, did I not? You are not permitted out of my palace."

"If you had not kidnapped me, I wouldn't need to leave or be here in the first place," she retorted sharply.

"True but then I did. And that means you have to stay. What can you do?"

His eyes held a mischievous charm in them, adding to the smirk on his lips. She knew he was enjoying this and it annoyed her even more.

But as quickly as that sight came, it changed with a blink of her eyelids as the frightening glare that adorned his eyes spoke of his firm intent.

"You will not defy me any longer. If you do, I will not guarantee my leniency anymore."

She had just removed her eyes from his when the words resonated in her ears and mind. Instantly she snapped her eyes in his direction as she asked in disbelief,

"What?"

"Yes. And you do not have to worry about being bored. My subjects will arrive soon."

She watched him peel his gaze from her, allowing his eyes to linger on her window and the world outside.

From the longing in his eyes and how they narrowed, she could tell he knew something she was unaware of.

Curious, Raven decided to make the best of her opportunity to be there and find out all she could.

Who knows, she could escape soon and use this intel to help her people and the realm against him.

While she concocted her clever plans, she failed to notice how Xavier took in all of her facial expressions from the corners of his eyes.

"Rather than cracking your brain and filling it with evil thoughts, eat and recover. I still have great use of you."

"What?" She was instantly baffled but the being remained subtle to his words.

"Yes. Since you do not wish to tell me how you are related to her, I would figure it out myself. And until then, you are to remain here, in this room."

No matter how charming he was, one thought disturbed her brain and it was the fact that he was taken, her freedom and will, gone.

This was one thing she hated which always ended her in a fight with her father.

Regardless, she thought it'd be wise to question him just in case. "Am I your… prisoner?"

"Take it as you wish. Call it whatever name you want to. I have no interest in you save for what I said earlier."

To back up his words, he unhurriedly moved back till he was off her bed and allowed his intimidating figure to tower over her.

Sensing his domineering aura seep out like smoke from a cottage's fire, Raven was forced to fight back with her words and show him her defiance.

"I refuse to abide by your words, no matter what."

"You have no choice," Xavier calmly reminded her.

"I do and mark my words," she exhaled sharply. "I would escape from this prison."

"Be my guest and kill yourself this time. I never stated I needed you alive anyway. Your body is enough for me to find out what I want."

To taunt her further, he let his cold but stern intense gaze rake her body from head to her toe.

Instantly she felt a chill run down her spine as goosebumps appeared on her skin suddenly.

Quickly Raven wrapped her hands around herself in a protective manner as she pulled her knees up, bringing it close to her chin.

"Pervert," she muttered under her breath but when the corners of his lips tugged upwards, she realized to her dismay that he heard her words loud and clear.

"From monster to pervert. I see my prowess is growing by the second. I fed you my blood, yet these are the thanks I get?"

She parted her lips to speak but before she could say anything Xavier scoffed silently as though he was half irritated and moved away, disregarding her attempt.

Ignoring her completely this time around, Xavier turned around and walked out of her room, leaving her mind to her troubled thoughts.

He had guests arriving soon and more than anything, he needed to make sure they were guests and not wolves in sheep's clothing.

Letting out a deep sigh, his shoulders straightened as he locked both hands at his back like a stern teacher and strolled away.
