Intruder 2

*************

CHAPTER 30

It did not take long for Zeno to arrive close to the main gates leading into the palace and intercepted the intruder's path.

Howbeit, immediately after his eyes landed on the intruder, they widened.

Earlier on when he got the message from Ephraim concerning a breach and were going to intercept, he had them halt till he delivered the message to Xavier

Although none of them was at the entrance, which permitted the intruder further entry, they could sense it all from the Aisle's control system Xander had them start working on upon arrival.

Good thing they did as this happened not up to two days after his departure and Xavier never sensed it.

Strange to say the least. However, he had expected a troop, a group of people perhaps but what he got was a frail-looking being.

The person's nature wasn't what caused him to look bewildered but who?

Staring at him with unblinking eyes as her feet came to land on the ground in front of where he stood, a slow smile of satisfaction lit her eager face and worked its way into her eyes.

With both arms clasped at her back, she greeted politely.

"Good day, Assistant General and right-hand man of General Xander Blade."

Her face lit up in joy as the smile spread across her face. "I was already wondering if His Majesty would let his entrance wide open just for people to have easy access," she added.

The air and aura she gave off while voicing out those words was one of a child having fun.

On the other hand, this was a serious matter that she took so lightly.

No one had ventured into the aisle save for the Blade family and now she did easily and did not think anything wrong about it.

Either she joked about it, or her years of absence had made her take important things as trivial.

"Once again, what's with the silence, Lord Zeno? Or does my presence intrigue you so much?" She questioned, moving her body slightly from side to side.

*****

Far from where Raven stood, she watched the two figures converse but could not make out their faces.

If there was one thing the barrier did, it was to distort her vision to prevent her from gaining any information for as long as she was stuck in this room.

Ever so, it could not hide the distinguished aura of the person and that familiar feeling she got when she stood before this person.

"There is no way," Raven voiced in shock.

Her eyes squinted further, trying her very best in figuring the truth out.

"Come on, damn barrier. Just be nice for once and not distort my view so much," Raven grunted and placed both hands on the window.

"If I cannot use magic against you, I can use you to enhance my field of vision."

Her eyes lit up at her thought and quickly, she sent some of her powers on her fingers as she pressed them against the window, further affecting the barrier.

To her surprise, it did not fight against her, nor send her flying. Instead, it heeded her words and gave her a clearer view.

Centring on the lady who broke in, Raven narrowed her gaze at her and watched as she slowly swung her body from side to side while her two shades of coloured hair danced happily to the rhythm of the wind and her movements.

"It is her. Sky."

******

"Your presence, intriguing?" Zeno questioned and let out a low scoff. "Do not deceive yourself Lady Sky. It would be beneath you and your family name."

"I am here for myself and not for any family member. With what has happened over the years, it should tell you that I do not actually care what the main branch does, even if I am the heir to that line."

His brows creased and he arched a brow at her but remained silent and allowed her to continue speaking.

Knowing her, it was useless to stop her speech at times. It was best to allow her to speak.

"So, scrap family name for now. I am here representing the outcasts."

"Hmm. Fine. As you wish Lady Sky. His majesty awaits you."

"Thank you. Please lead the way. I cannot wait to meet with the true ruler of Drakenflare."

He rolled his eyes at her and took a step to the side, as he paved the way for her and gestured with his left hand for her to go in.

The moment she voiced her name, her vision blurred and she took a step back. Going closer, Raven tried once more but got nothing from it.

She took a couple of steps away from the window and repeated all of her earlier actions. No matter what Raven did, the barrier refused to let her continue watching.

Left with no choice, she resigned herself to fate and watched the blurry scene transpire before her.

No sooner had that occurred than she saw the other figure step to the sde, granting Sky passage.

"No. Did father send her perhaps?"

Raven shook her head. There was no way that possibly could have been. Ever since what her grandfather did, and seeing her father take the throne and assume in the same footsteps, she couldn't hold it in again and left Drakenflare.

"There's no way father would have met her and sent her. This simply means he is getting loyal and strong supporters."

Her eyes darted around the room as she scanned it once more for nothing in particular.

After much wandering about, her gaze came to rest on her pet fox, Layla and she heaved out a deep breath.

She may not have wanted it but that was what she could think about to help her calm down.

Becoming anxious wasn't going to help her or get her out of here. But staying calm to plan would.

"This is bad. I must escape and warn father. Maestherial is not safe."
