Hearts Knit

It was 6:00 pm when Lily showed up. John waa nervous as well as excited. I've to confess my love today, he thought.

"Welcome,Lily."he said with a wide smile.

Lily gave a heart melting smile as she stepped in. John's aunt, Rosie, emerged from the kitchen.

"You must be Lily." she said looking at Lily. "Yeah" John said.

They sat on the green sofas and Rosie went to the kitchen. "Coffee or tea?"she asked.

"Coffee would be better aunt." Lily replied. "Nice catch, Johnny." said Rosie from the kitchen.

"Johnny...? I thought you are just John."asked Lily. "She calls me like that." John responded with an enlightened face.

John was counting on his aunt to show up and give them coffee and leave the home to her clinic. He needs privacy, in his house. "Are you just gonna stare?" Lily asked.

"Umm, no" said John, "I have to say this..."

He was interrupted by his aunt as she entered with 2 cups of coffee.

"For you?" John asked Rosie. "No,I'm good." she replied.

"Take care of her,Johnny" Rosie said as she hugged Lily and left the place.

John sighed.

"Come" he said, "Time for my room tour."

Lily followed John to his room. "It's huge." she said. "That's what all say." John replied.

His room consisted of a bed, a bookshelf, a mirror, a study table and a washroom.

Lily moved towards the bookshelf.

"Bookworm,eh?" she asked.

"Yeah...kind of."John replied. Lily's eyes met up with a book which had multi colours with two guns on its centre. It also had a woman and a man standing with guns.

"Orders of Fate?"she asked.

"Yeah...a decent one." John replied.

Then, Lily found a photoframe on the study table.

It had a couple with a small boy. "It is.." Lily started. "My family" John said, "My dad Michael and my mom Diana." with bitter voice.

"What happened to them?" Lily asked.

"I don't know. I was just a kid."John said ,"My aunt said it was an accident."

"I'm sorry, John. My parents were also gone...we have got to move on." Lily said.

John sighed as they moved.

"On a scale of 1 to 10, rate my room." said John.

Lily smiled as she said, "Ten."

They both then sat on the bed. John knew it was time. He decided to cofess.

His hand reached his pant pocket and he took his gift out. Lily looked surprised.

John opened it. He took out the necklace with the heart-shaped pendant.

"That's so cute!" exclaimed Lily. Then she went silent on seeing the pendant. Heart.

"When I look in your eyes, I see a very kind soul."John said. Romantically.

Lily laughed. "I'm damn sure you referred the Google."

John blushed as she found out the truth.

"Have it." John said, "Merry Christmas, Lily."

"Thank you,John!" said Lily as she went to open the pendant to see what's inside.

But John stopped her.

"Do open it when I'm gone." he said.

Awkward silence existed between them.

The distance between them minimized as Lily came towards John.

"Wanna see my gift?" she asked. John nodded.

"I'm your gift. Unwrap if you want to." she said.

"That's...a pretty old pickup line," said John, "But I'll allow it."

They laughed.

"I love you, Lily." said John. "Me too."

They both said Okay at an instant.

Then they kissed.
