Deal

"Quest: Info: Khal, the leader of the Mountain Bandits, recoiled from the fear of being thrown off the mountain. He agreed to reveal important information about his trading partners in exchange for staying alive."

Requirement: None. Rank: E

"Quest: Delivering the Bandit: You captured Khal, the leader of the Mountain Bandits, and should send him to General Beno in exchange for a good reward"

Requirement: None. Rank E

(Two quests for the same situation. This is quite rare to happen. Each of these choices has different endings. The second option would be the quick reward, but the best is the first, because I could receive more benefits in the future.) Wang Cai had heard of these types of quests before, but they were very rare and always had generous rewards for players.

"If you don't want to die, tell me some important information I want to hear."

"Promise me you won't kill me."

"That depends on your information. If it's something I already know, it's not worth keeping someone like you alive."

"I have some secret documents that I created to keep myself safe in case my partners tried to trick me. They are in a hidden location that no one will find unless I tell them the location."

"Well… where is the location?"

"If you let me go, I can take you there."

"You have no bargaining power here. Also, the instant you are seen outside this mountain, you will be killed"

"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE???!!!!!!" Khal screamed in fear.

"Let's say some of your associates have been arrested and you're missing. What do you think the other partners will think about this?"

"..." He didn't even have to think long to understand what was happening.

The others would blame him and he could be killed at any moment.

There weren't many ways out for him.

"As long as you help me, I can keep you alive and even let you leave the Agoria Kingdom for another country or continent."

"Aren't you afraid I'll betray you?"

"You don't know what I look like or what my real voice sounds like. Also, the other nobles clearly want to kill you to clear any witnesses. Doing business with that kind of person comes at a price"

"…" Khal grew thoughtful about the matter.

There were pros and cons to his current situation.

Anyway, if he wanted to live, he would have to help Wang Cai.

"I accept the deal, but I want reassurance that I will stay alive." He replied after some time.

Having a chance to live was better than dying.

"You have plenty of gold coins inside the hiding place, right? Tell me where it is so I can bring it. I have enough here, but you don't want it."

"Are you after my wealth too? Why don't you just kill me??" Khal was very irritated by his greed, even though he had none.

"I said before, right? I do not covet wealth, for I already have several hundred thousand gold coins. Just a little longer doesn't mean anything. But if you want, I can give you ten thousand gold pieces to find a new place."

"I want a thousand gold coins. That's enough, but I want reassurance that I won't be found by the nobles."

"Don't worry, I have my methods. Give me something that is yours, something very precious that your partners know you would never give to anyone else."

"Do you really think they will believe this? That I died and you took something from me as proof? They won't believe it until they see my head."

"Not necessarily. I just need to say that you fell off the top of the mountain after escaping the place of confinement. You have a friend here on your side who can be used as bait." That wasn't the main objective, but after changing circumstances, he could make use of this other NPC.

"You can not do that. He must not be the bait. Find something else." Khal rejected the proposal firmly.

(Looks like this guy is someone important to him. I can make use of that)

Even without seeing who the other person was, Khal knew who he was.

"Then I'll have to throw you down"

"WHATTT!!!!!??!!!! DO YOU NEED TO KILL ME??!!!!!" he screamed in desperation.

"No. You will not die. Just eat this and hold on. I spent a great deal of money buying this. So don't waste my money." Wang Cai gave Khal a brown potion to drink.

Potion Before Death (Consumable): One who drinks the potion can survive a fatal blow within the next five minutes. Cooldown: Six months.

"This potion will prevent your death, but the pain will not. So, good luck. Someone will help you when reaching the ground"

"NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" He screamed loudly, but his screams went unheard.

PANG!!!! PANG!!!

Its body fell at great speed towards the ground, but before that, it crashed several times through the mountain walls, staining the surrounding areas with blood.

splash!!!!

Normally, anyone would have turned to paste falling from that height, but Khal was still fine, but badly injured.

Any hit would be enough to kill him.

On the ground, an impressive scene was seen.

A hooded person dragged Khal's half-dead body somewhere.

"You heard the conversation, right? What are you going to do? Your friend over there asked not to kill you. Not even your name is on the list of his subordinates."

"I'll get out of here as soon as possible. I'm not on the list, but I'll be recognized when the other miners do, so I have to run and hide."

"Or you can just drop that disguise and live like someone else. That fake face of yours"

"Do you know about that?" Anxiety and surprise were felt in his tone.

"Naturally. But I didn't take off that mask, because it doesn't matter."

"What do you want with me? A deal too?"

"That's interesting too. What can you tell me that's worth it?"

"You spared my good friend Khal. So I'm going to talk about some of the things I've heard about the royal family. It seems that the king had an illegitimate son with a commoner, but for so many years, he was never assumed. So he lived like a commoner until he was able to marry a noblewoman. Unfortunately, he was killed on their wedding night. The person who killed him is one of the Second Prince's loyal subordinates"

"Is this information true?"

"Yes. It is true. I was there when the Second Prince ordered his death. It seems that the king's bastard son has gained a chance to fight for the throne after marrying a noblewoman. To make his situation worse, the First Prince was gaining more support from the nobles and the Third Prince was getting stronger by going hunting with the adventurers and soldiers. The Second Prince started to get worried about the succession"

"But why kill the bastard son?"
