Post Praimfaya Chapter 20

As Clarke descend from the bright sky above into the bunker below, she was shocked at how different the bunker looked from the last time she was in it over 5 years ago. The atrium is dark, lit mostly by torches, and a fence now surrounds the walkway. She also noticed a chair at the top positioned in such a way that it reminds her of a throne, giving a sense of solidarity and command. A few seconds later, Clarke look at the fence and saw quite a lot of weapons on the fence, some were bloody and rusty, but that wasn't what made her fearful. For her, the thought of something bad happening to her friends was worse than seeing some weapons on a fence. Finally, when her feet touch the ground, Clarke saw Bellamy nearby, held tight in an embrace by his sister, who looks entirely different from the girl she left behind.

Her hair was shorter, and rather than wearing the clothes of a warrior or even the uniforms that they gave to them, Octavia was wearing something similar to the outfits Lexa wore, making Clarke wonder what in god's name happened down her in the past five years. Upon taking a closer look at her face, Clarke noticed that Octavia had red war paint stretching from her eyes to her hairline, almost as if she was wearing some kind of war paint.

Not even a second after Clarke touches down beside her brother, Octavia pulls away from him and pulls Clarke into a hug. Seeing this made her smile despite her shock at the changes.

"I've missed you, Clarke."

"And I've missed you."

A second later, her wary gaze shifted towards the unfamiliar figures of Diyoza's men, who stood watchfully nearby. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion as she turned to Clarke and Bellamy, her voice laced with caution. "Who are these people?" Octavia questioned, her tone betraying her wariness.

Bellamy glanced at Clarke, exchanging a knowing look before addressing his sister. "They're here to get you out of here, O," he explained, his voice steady and resolute. "We've made a deal with them. "

Octavia's eyebrows furrowed, her concern evident. "But why would they help us?"

Clarke stepped forward, joining the conversation. "Diyoza, the leader of these people, she wants something from us," she said, her voice tinged with a mix of determination and caution. "We have leverage, and she needs us for her own reasons."

Octavia's gaze flickered with a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. "And where's Leon?" she asked, her voice tinged with a hint of worry.

Clarke's eyes searched the area briefly before she responded, her voice low. "He's outside, aiming a sniper rifle at Dyoza. He's keeping an eye on things, making sure we stay safe."

Octavia's eyes widened slightly before she nodded. "At least someone knows that we can't trust a stranger with an army. However, that doesn't explain why is she armed."

But that didn't stop Octavia to walk towards Dyoza, and Bellamy reaches out for her, holding her back. "O, it's okay. As I said, we have an understanding."

Clarke steps forward, looking between Octavia and Indra, who has now joined their small group. "Before we get to that, have you managed to contact the other bunker?"

"Yes, we keep in contact over the years. I'll take you to talk with your mother."

Clarke nods in response to Indra before both of them walk away from the entrance and towards the command room. It didn't take long before Clarke and Indra walked inside the room, closing the door behind them.

As Clarke settled into the chair, her hands trembling slightly with a mixture of nerves and anticipation, Indra activated the radio and tuned it to the frequency used by Mount Weather. The air crackled with static, and Clarke's heart raced with the anticipation of hearing her mother's voice after so many years.

"Mount Weather, this is Wonkru. Do you copy?" Indra's voice resounded through the radio, and for a moment, there was only silence. Then, a familiar voice broke through the static.

"Wonkru? Indra is that you?"

Tears welled up in Clarke's eyes as she choked back a sob, her voice trembling with a mixture of relief and longing. Seeing this Indra left Clarke alone, leaving the girl to talk with her mother. "Mom? Mom, it's me. I can't believe I'm hearing your voice."

Abby's voice trembled with a mix of guilt and remorse. "Clarke, I'm so sorry. I couldn't be there with you."

Clarke's voice softened, her own pain evident. "Mom, we did what we had to do to survive. It wasn't your fault. I don't blame you. Leon and I survived that's what matters."

The conversation continued, their voices rising and falling with the weight of their shared experiences. They found solace in each other's words, offering support and understanding that only a mother and daughter could provide.

As the call came to an end, both Clarke and Abby were left with a bittersweet ache in their hearts. They had found each other once again, if only through a radio connection, but the physical distance between them still remained. Even if only for a few more days at worst.

"Stay safe, Clarke, I will see you soon," Abby's voice whispered through the radio, filled with a mixture of hope and sadness.

"I will, Mom. I love you," Clarke replied, her voice thick with emotion.

The connection was severed, leaving Clarke with a profound sense of both relief and longing. Clarke took a few more minutes to calm herself before she left the room heading back to the entrance hoping to see more familiar faces.

When she reached the entrance she saw Miller getting ready to get to the surface, and when he sees Clarke, grins at her. "Hey, princess. It's good to see you."

Clarke smiled back at him, "It's good to see you."

When Bellamy looks at his friend, he sees a gun at Nate's side and his face falls into one of disappointment. Nate's expression falls a little, clearly not eager to disappoint Bellamy, and Bellamy turns and walks over to Octavia, his voice lecturing. "The deal was no weapons."

"Not my deal."

"I need to talk to you in private. "

Bellamy turns and glances at Clarke before he walks away, climbing up the newly deployed ladder before heading into one of the nearby abandoned buildings. Octavia waits for a minute before she follows him up.

Just as Clarke thought that everything would go as planned, she heard the overfamiliar sound of the sonic weapon being fired. Indra glances at Clarke. "I know what that was, and it's not good."

She and Indra quickly climb up just as Bellamy and Octavia reached the place where they climbed and all four of them run through the streets toward an old fountain.

"Sorry about your pretty fountain, but that was only half power. I know most of you are armed. If anyone moves for a weapon, you'll see what full power does to human flesh. It's not pretty."

As soon as Clarke and Bellamy get eyes on her, he starts to yell, "Hey! Hey, what the hell are you doing? One call from me…"

"Make your call."

Before Bellamy could react or reach for the radio to make the call, a sudden sharp sound sliced through the air. In an instant, a bullet grazed Dyoza's face, leaving behind a gash on her cheek. Blood trickled down, mingling with the dirt and grime that adorned her skin.

Everyone froze, their eyes widening with shock and surprise. The plaza fell into an eerie silence as they tried to comprehend what had just happened. Clarke's heart raced, and her gaze instinctively darted toward the source of the shot.

There, on a vantage point overlooking the scene, stood Leon, his sniper rifle still held in his steady hands.

Dyoza, her hand pressed against her wounded cheek, glared up at Leon with a mix of fury and disbelief. The tension in the room escalated, and Bellamy, his voice filled with urgency, called out, "Leon, what are you doing?"

Leon's gaze remained fixed on Dyoza, his voice echoing through the radio. "I told you, I'm not letting anything happen to our people. "

Dyoza, her anger burning bright, yelled back at Leon, "You think a single shot will stop us? You're playing a dangerous game, boy."

"You're right, Dyoza," Leon's voice carried a weight of sorrow and resolve. "A single shot won't stop you. But I'm not aiming for just you."

Dyoza's eyes narrowed, a flicker of uncertainty crossing her face. "What are you talking about?"

Leon's gaze hardened on her as he continued, his voice tinged with a hint of regret. "I've been observing you, Dyoza, for the past day. I know more than you think. And I know that care for another life, one that you can't lose, not after all of those years."

The realization struck like a lightning bolt, electrifying the plaza with tension. Dyoza's hand instinctively moved to her stomach, as she realized what the boy she had underestimated meant.

Bellamy's voice quivered with a mix of concern and urgency. "Leon, you can't—"

But Leon's words cut through, firm and resolute. "I won't hesitate to protect those I care about, just as you would, Bellamy. This is the world we live in, and the choices we make have consequences."
