Chapter 50

Lenora stared blankly at the annoyed man in front of her, and his buddies were right there with him staring down threateningly at her. All four of them while one was sitting on a nearby couch.

"Listen," He leaned down at her desk moving a bunch of papers as he did so, making her increasingly annoyed as she stubbornly crossed her arms. "You deal with the calculations, and we keep your pretty head attached to your neck. Your cut is five percent and that's all."

Lenora considered for a moment before shaking her head. "Fifteen."

"It was ten earlier, bitch." The man slammed his head on the desk with his company getting annoyed as they closed in on her. "I was being generous with that five, but now you get nothing. You either do it or we kill you."

She was only brave enough to defy them because of the footsteps she heard earlier, and as expected, Constantine walked in looking around the place blankly.

"Len-Len," He closed the door relaxedly behind him using the annoying nickname he had for her. "Where the hell did you keep my money?"

Lenora briefly wondered how anyone here would function without her, and she knew exactly where his nonexistent money is. He took it all already.

"You don't have any." She informed him flatly as the man snapped his fingers in front of her face in a patronizing way to get her attention.

"Attention here, lady. My money first." The man told her before turning around towards Constantine and gesturing for him to go away. "And you, out of here. This doesn't concern you."

"It's okay, he's with me." She told them watching how Constantine got her message and approached her with a curious look on his face, but he was enjoying this. She gave him a piece of paper and began explaining. "As you can see, these gentlemen want to split the profits of their sold, erm, goods."

The men grumbled silently but said nothing. Constantine pressed on. "I know what drugs are. And?"

She didn't dare allow her eyebrow to twitch in annoyance.

"As you see, many people were involved in the manufacturing, selling , and what not. I have to go through all of this," She told him giving him another piece of paper that he took without really looking at it. "And I only asked for ten percent."

"Which is a lot for a bunch math." The man yelled in frustration denting her desk when he gave it a kick. Lenora took of her glasses and bit her lip in annoyance.

"Yeah, Len-Len, it is a lot." Constantine agreed grinning up at the men who simmered down at his words. "Do you have the money right now?"

"Don't worry about your cut, we'll get it once you do the damn math."

"So it's in the car." Constantine snorted placing the papers on Lenora's head annoying her further as she placed them back on her desk. "You deserve at least seventy percent, Len-Len."

The man stood up from his chair with a furious look and the men were right there with him. They weren't being taken seriously. "That's it. I am sick of you and this friend of yours."

They both watched as all of them turned around and left the room one by one before Constantine turned his attention to Lenora. "Pretty sure they do have the money in their car."

"Will you really give me seventy percent?"

"Yeah, why not? I don't really need the money." He shrugged nonchalantly making her raise her eyebrows in surprise as she put her glasses back on.

"If you don't need it, give me all of it."

Constantine gave her an amused smile.

"Fair point." He said looking at the door, listening to the men's steps before he decided now was the time to get a move on. "I'll see you in a bit."

When those around saw the six men descend down the stairs from Lenora's office, nobody thought much of it as one of them yawned. They were just sitting around idly as they watched people who passed by, and clearly those six men leaving weren't so happy with whatever Lenora told them. Probably one of her failed offers, one of them hazarded.

They snickered quietly to themselves at the upset men, and some gave a playful nudge to their buddies at the amusing sight until it all died down when someone else followed behind.

Silence momentarily fell as they all knew what that meant.

The six men who approached their cars didn't.

They weren't exactly familiar with this place, so when they separated themselves between two cars, they were surprised to find that Constantine had followed. The man, who seemed to be the leader as he did most of the talking, glared at him holding the car keys in his hands.

"Can we help you?"

Constantine didn't stop approaching.

Without any words, he gave the man a mischievous smile as he took out a knife out and proceeded to slash one of the tires. It was no surprise when one of the men quickly sprung into action and slammed him back into the car, denting it.

"What the hell, man!?" The guy yelled slamming him again against the car not caring about the damage he was doing to its exterior as the other men circled them, but Constantine wasn't really concerned about them as he glanced back to look through the windows.

"I was right." He observed when he caught sight of a few bags hidden under the seats, one had to look closely to see them. "You did bring money."

Some of it, at least.

The man was pushed off of him by one who was a lot larger, the largest in the bunch, and he even towered over Constantine as he held him by his shirt. He was the man who was languidly sitting on the couch earlier, Constantine distantly remembered, but that didn't matter much.

It seems like he wasn't a man of many words as he immediately held him by the throat, making sure to put as much pressure as he could in that hold. Not even when Constantine tapped his arm did he let go.

Too bad he didn't know that those were warning taps.

"Should have known better than to-" The leader didn't get to complete his words before he found himself staring at the broken window of a car and a partially severed head of his largest man. "What the fuck."

Nothing else could be said.

The bloodied glass shards that littered the floor cracked as Constantine took a step back clearing his throat. "I didn't appreciate that." He said with a playful tone that contradicted his actions. It was then that the men realized they were dealing with a crazy person, and although their comrade died so fast before their eyes, it didn't deter them from retaliating.

They all shared nods and glances ready to attack this psycho all at once. It didn't even take a second before they found themselves to be missing one already.

Five men down to four because they didn't think he'd attack this fast.

The unlucky one had his arms wrung in Constantine's grip as he screamed in agony, and then his head was smashed on the ground by the force of the foot that stomped on him. It was unfortunate for him that he was the closest one to the killer, but that didn't matter much. Constantine played with all of his toys.

"He's-" One of the men stepped back reaching behind him for something but there was only air. He didn't know what he was seeing as he started into confusing red eyes. "He's a feral."

This made Constantine frown. "Do you see me growling?"

He didn't get to be confused for long as they were the last thing he saw before his head was ripped clean off of his shoulders with brute force that was unseen before. Four men became a petrified three, and as they fought with their fight or flight instincts, the flighty ones were targeted next.

And three became two when one had a knife plunged into his chest as he tried to claw at and fight his attacker to no avail, they were all severely lacking in experience to have a fighting chance. And two became one when he couldn't withstand the force of the kick aimed at his stomach breaking his ribs in the process.

And one died alone among the corpses of his comrades.

They might have killed before, but they were used to having an advantage over their victims. They always had the upper hand, and that led to their demise. Always did.

Bloody footprints followed Constantine as he threw a duffle bag on Lenora's desk with another two hanging on his person. She didn't mind all the blood this time as she opened the bag staring at the money flowing out of it in bewilderment.

Looking up at Constantine, she winced at the marks on his neck but he seemed completely untouched otherwise.

"This is a lot." She said looking down at the money once again and he took two wads of cash with a nod of his head counting them. "Are you really going to give me some of it?"

Constantine halted all his movements before he snorted.

"What do you mean some? All of this is yours."

For once in her life, she wasn't annoyed by all the blood he was smearing, or the damages that were befalling her well-maintained organized office. Not even the papers that flew on the floor because of him bothered her even when she spent a long time meticulously sorting them.

Instead, she let herself believe his words that were too good to be true and looked down at the bag not believing that it was hers.

And as if she couldn't be more surprised, he dropped the two bags he was carrying in front of her desk before giving her a curt wave. He only took the two wads he was counting.

"Take a vacation, Len-Len."

And that's exactly what she was going to do.

And it'll be the longest vacation she'll ever take.
