Chapter 15: A true nightmare

Scarlet had been keeping a close eye on team RWBY and everyone else. She had noticed that Weiss had thorn markings on her neck from the Nightmare Grimm, of course Scarlet being who she is. She didn't bother bring this up to anyone, her main focus was trying to get the Nightmare Grimm Shion had and the one that was inside Weiss' body.

Ozpin sat in his office pondering over who exactly Scarlet is, and why she had the same eyes as Salem. He clinched both of his fists tightly as he couldn't get the puzzle put together, he closed his eyes for a bit as he let out a sigh. "Just who is she?"

Things seemed to be different from the real Remnant as Scarlet had noticed that team RWBY had bumped into Sun and Penny earlier than expected. The White Fang still attacked the shipping docks to grab the dust along with some help from Torchwick, Instead of Penny and the others coming to confront them Scarlet decided she'd do it instead.

"Ara Ara, what do we have here. The White Fang and Roman Torchwick, I'm surprised you all managed to show up." Scarlet spoke as she locked eyes with Torchwick.

This variation of Torchwick seemed to get straight to the point of asking questions instead of stalling for time. "And just who the hell are you exactly? You look like someone I know, but I can't place my finger on it."

Scarlet smirked as she slowly approached him. "It doesn't matter, but there is something I want from you." She grabbed his cigar from his mouth and flicked it aside. "Don't you know smoking is bad for you anyway?"

Torchwick scoffed as he watched as his cigar was flicked to the side. "And what exactly do you want from me little red? You smell of Beacon academy, yet you're here confronting me and the White Fang."

"But I could get you access into the academy. There's a certain person by the name of Shion who has something of mine, call it whatever. But I need it back, that is unless you're chicken?" Scarlet asked.

"Even if you do manage to get me into the academy, what makes you so sure no one would notice I'm a wanted criminal?" Torchwick asked.

Scarlet snickered as she glanced over to White Fang. "Well for starters... I'm feeling a bit peckish, and I need something to eat." She moved away from Roman as she dashed towards the Fang and started to tear them to shreds and started eating them, blood spewed in every direction as she made sure Roman watched her devour the Faunus.

Roman's eyes widened in shock, blood splattered on him and on his white coat. "Y-You're not..."

"Human? Yeah that's the point." Scarlet said with a grin, she stood up as blood dripped from her fingers and lips. "Now then... where were we?"

Torchwick had fled the area and went into hiding until the moment was right. And when Scarlet would give the order for him to move on towards Beacon and the exact location of where Shion was at, however. When he had left, Penny and the others had shown up after a small delay.

Scarlet stood upon a crate that was above the shipping docks, she watched as Blake and Sun arrived with Penny as well as Ruby. A grin spreads across her face as she took one step forward, it seemed her true evil was starting to seep out from deep within her as she spoke up. "In this pathetically weak world, only the strongest rise to heights of great power. I control this city, and soon, I will be master of this world. Nothing can stand in my way!"

Penny, Ruby, Sun and Blake all jerked their heads up looking at the crate above them. Ruby's eyes widened as she saw Scarlet again, the four of them moved out of the way as Scarlet jumped down to the ground below.

"No police! No government! And certainly not you... freaks! I will crush you all!" Scarlet barked as she wore a sinister grin on her face. "I am your nightmare, the end of your weak life. You have something that belongs to me!"

Sun was confused as he smirked. "Don't worry, I got this one." He dashed over to Scarlet as he was swinging his nun-chucks around followed by his semblance as copies of himself appeared next to him.

"Sun wait!" Blake yelled. "I don't think you can take her own by yourself."

Scarlet smirked and watched as Sun approached her, something inside her sparked. A feeling of war and murder had re-awoken deep inside her like a crystal shining brightly, the Grimm girl swung Black Rose around before slamming the tip of the blade down into the ground. "First come, first serve, you think you can take me on monkey boy?"

"Oh I can, I know it." Sun said with a cocky smirk on his face, but that smirk soon faded as he was soon in Scarlet's grasp. "G-Gah.... h-how?"

Scarlet laughed as she strangled Sun, it was obvious what she had done. She stopped time for a brief moment and grabbed Sun by the throat and resumed time in a blink of an eye. Her grip got tighter around his throat, she lifted him up off the ground and watched as his aura started to flicker and crack. "What's wrong? Not going to help out?"

"You monster, let him go!" Blake snapped as she rushed over.

Scarlet laughed again as she threw Sun up into the air and grabbed him by his tail this time. "Tonight I dine on monkey soup." She noticed Blake was coming towards her as she smirked and kicked Black in the gut sending her flying backwards.

Ruby watched in horror as she was hit by Blake as they both hit a empty shipping container, Penny was up next as her back opened up and swords came out. Scarlet knew what this was and she instead let Penny charge up the beam, the Grimm girl grinned as she noticed Sun was trying to get away.

Ruby rubbed her head as she groaned in pain, she looked down at Blake seeing she was unconscious. Then the light from Penny's beam flashed as Penny had fired her beam at Scarlet, which seemed to be what she was planning for the whole time. Scarlet knew Ruby was fond of her friends, taking matters into her hands. Scarlet flung Sun into the water and went straight through Penny's beam and was now up close to her.

Penny gasped seeing Scarlet's silhouette go through her beam. "No way!" She then saw Scarlet rise up in front of her as she tried to brace herself for what was to come next.

Scarlet smirked as she swung Black Rose at Penny and sliced her head clean off, of course she knew she wasn't human. But she knew this would traumatize Ruby, she watched as Penny's body collapsed and her head rolling over to the side. "Aw, is that all?" She walked over to where Penny's head was and placed her foot on her head. "Say, what would happen if I crushed your head and it caved in?"

Penny didn't answer as she looked over at Ruby. "I'm sorry Ruby... I shouldn't have came here."

Ruby was frozen in terror as Scarlet laughed and crushed Penny's head, she had expected Ruby's silver eye power to be unleashed but it seemed like there wasn't enough trauma in Ruby to make it happen. She scoffed but glanced over to Sun as he made it back up, she wondered about something but she eventually heard police sirens as she jumped up and vanished into the darkness. "We will meet again my dear sister..."

Roman slipped into Beacon academy and went exactly where Scarlet had said Shion was at as well as the location of the container that they had assumingly stolen from Scarlet. But taking it wasn't going to be easy, that is until Scarlet showed up holding her hand over Shion's mouth and her finger nails up to their neck.

"Make it fast Torchwick." Scarlet said as she held Shion hostage.

Torchwick scoffed as he searched everywhere in the room until he found it. "Is this it?"

Scarlet nodded as she saw Torchwick hand it over to her. She grabbed the container and glanced at Shion, she slowly let them go as she whispered something into their ear. "Weiss is infected with one... Don't say a thing about this night, or else I will kill you."

Shion wasn't too sure what to say or do, they didn't even know how Scarlet knew about the Nightmare Grimm. But hearing what Scarlet had said just made it seem like they were doing a bad job, but knew that they would have to have Ozpin bring Weiss in so they can get the Nightmare Grimm out of her.

Scarlet grinned as she dismissed Roman from the area. She was stopped however by Shion as she noticed the yarn wrapped around her, she turned her head to look at them. "Oh my, what's the matter, you can't let me go can you?"

"Who are you?" Shion asked as they tightened the yarn around Scarlet.

Scarlet mouthed her name to them and then snickered a bit as she cut the yarn from her body, but before she had left she turned her head to the side. "I'll be back tomorrow for the show. And don't let me stop you from doing your job, in fact... you could say I'd be an interesting candidate to go into Weiss' dream."

Shion scoffed as they stayed silent and watched Scarlet leave, they knew if they had told Ozpin about this. Scarlet would kill them, and even kill everyone else within Beacon. Over the next few days the Nightmare Grimm grew more and more on and in Weiss as it was eventually getting close to the time for her to be put into a deep slumber, Ruby was a bit dramatized but she tried her best to focus on what was at hand.

After what seemed like a struggle with trying to get over what happened. Weiss was annoyed that Ruby was the team leader and not her, thinking there was a mistake. We know how that story goes, but of course things were different after the end results. After both Ruby and Weiss had their talk with other people Weiss returned to the dorm as she looked at the bunk beds.

"I've always wanted bunk beds." Weiss mumbled, a chill ran down her spine as she glanced over to the corner seeing another her,

the other Weiss grinned before speaking. "Lies, all lies. This isn't what you've wanted, you should be the leader.. no you should be the one in control of the Schnee Dust Company. And I can make all that come true."
