Chapter 38: Black Rainbow

Scarlet glared at Xenovia, her arm Issei sliced off hadn't grown back. Their eyes locked onto each other, Scarlet snickered a bit as she tilted her head to the side. A grin spreads across her face as she then started to laugh.

"What's so funny?" Xenovia asked with a stern glare on her face. "What are you laughing about?" Her grip on Excalibur tight. "Answer!"

Scarlet stopped laughing as she licked her lips. "I must say, I didn't expect my prey to offer themselves up so easily, and here I thought Rias was the main course.... but you on the other hand...I can totally fuck. Now what say you?"

"Issei did it." Xenovia said. "And you're not going to be eating anybody, not while I'm still alive and breathing."

Scarlet snickered. "Oh I imagine he did... all of you." She dashed forward as she gut punched Xenovia and then slammed her down into the ground. "I'ma plant me a dumbass tree!" She proceeded to apply pressure to Xenovia and pushed her down hard into the ground. 

Xenovia gasped as she cried out in pain, Koneko got on her guard as her and Issei were still nearby with Rias, they hadn't left yet. Scarlet glanced down at Xenovia as she grabbed Excalibur from her hand, she moved her attention towards Black Rose on the ground. 

"Nah, I still prefer my scythe." Scarlet mumbled as she tossed Excalibur towards Koneko. 

Before the sword could make contact with Koneko, Issei got in the way and deflected it. "We have to go, we can't just sit here all day." He didn't want to leave Xenovia behind, but they needed to get Rias back into shape.

"Trying to stall? Please, Rias is far too gone to save." Scarlet snickered as she slowly walked over towards them, but she felt her leg get grabbed as Xenovia grabbed onto her leg, which caused her to fall face first onto the ground. 

"Where do you think... You're going, you freak?" Xenovia asked as she slowly stopped up.

Scarlet laid on the ground for a moment, she jumped up to her feet and landed a uppercut to Xenovia's chin after she had turned around. Her fist came into contact with Xenovia's chin, which caused her to bite her tongue and be sent tumbling upwards into the air. The Grimm girl smirked as she watched Xenovia, her attention did turn towards Issei and Koneko.

"Now then, where were we?" Scarlet asked and slowly approached the two guarding Rias. "Oh yes, I remember!" Her crimson red eyes glowed as she dashed towards the two, even with one arm she managed to grab Koneko by the throat while bashing her head against Issei's armor. She slammed Koneko down into the ground, pinning her down with her knee. "You know, you remind me of a Faunus I know, except... she has black hair and no tail."

Issei gritted his teeth as he grabbed Scarlet's face and shoved her off Koneko, his hand glowing red as he blasted Scarlet's face. He then threw her body towards the area Rias was at, not realizing this was her plan all along. Once Scarlet's body landed a few feet away from where Rias was laying at, Issei helped Koneko up to her feet.

"We should look for Xenovia, she has to have landed somewhere." Issei said as he scanned the area.

Koneko rubbed her throat as she coughed. "W-Where did you throw that girl at?"

Issei pointed over to where he threw Scarlet at, but when him and Koneko turned their attention towards the area. Scarlet was standing up, her face half gone. Almost making her look like Two Face, she glared at the two as her blood dropped onto the ground.

"So much for wanting to save your precious Rias..." Scarlet spoke with a demonic tone.

It didn't take long for the two to piece together the puzzle, Issei face palmed as he cursed under his breath. "I'm a damn fool..."

Scarlet snickered as she walked over towards Rias, she knelt down and grabbed her by her leg. Before Koneko or Issei could attack, Scarlet stopped time with her semblance. Her aura was weak still, she didn't know how long she could keep time frozen. She knew what she had to do, without wasting any time. She bit Rias' neck and drank her blood, her body deflating until she was nothing but an empty corpse. Time resumed after Scarlet blinked, her body had healed itself, all except for her arm Issei sliced off.

Issei, Koneko and Xenovia all glared st Scarlet. Xenovia hadn't landed far and was able to make her way back, which is how she was with the other two. Rias was gone, she no longer existed anymore.

"Aw, what's wrong? Did I piss you all off?" Scarlet asked with a mocking tone, her strength had returned to her, but she was still one arm short. She knew she was going to have to get creative with fighting. "If it helps any... Rias was just the perfect source of energy I needed to feel... referred and full of spunk." Scarlet cackled as she waited for one of the three to make their first move.

"You'll pay for that!" Issei barked as he clinched both of his fists tightly. "Why must you kill? What have we ever done to deserve this?"

Scarlet tilts her head to the side as she grins. "Why? Because it's in my blood, I'm a Grimm... a creature of darkness. I crave murder and carnage, I don't care if you all are innocent people. You are still dead either way." She snickered as she took a moment to think. "However, if you all truly wish to fight me at my best... then." She held her hand up as her palm was opened. "Give me five seconds." She glanced over to her missing arm as she placed her hand over it. "I need to get myself a new arm, thanks to a certain someone." Her crimson red eyes glanced over to Issei, before the three could even say anything. The Grimm girl sprouted her Nevermore wings and flew off.

"So... who's gonna break the news to Akeno and the others?" Xenovia asked as she crossed her arms. "And by the way, the hell is she going?"

Koneko crossed her arms as well, she lightly tapped her foot as she seemed to be lost in thought. "I have a hunch, she might be going somewhere... some place to get a new arm."

"Yeah, like that will ever happen. She's a murderer." Issei said before groaning. "Oh.... she can just force someone to do it, shit...."

The three stood there for a moment as Koneko looked over at the area Rias was originally laying at, she took a deep breath and sighed. "The others aren't going to like this one bit. Not to mention Rias' dad won't be happy about it either." She looked forward as her cat ears folded on her head. "We need to figure out where that girl is going, but at the same time...."

"We could be next on the menu." Xenovia spoke finishing what Koneko was going to say. "Yeah, don't worry about that, she pretty much has me in her sights next for being consumed." She crossed her arms as she sighed. "So who should we tell first?" 

Koneko and Issei were silent, they didn't know who they should tell first, but Koneko glanced over as she saw Scarlet's scythe. She walked over to it as she knelt down and grabbed it, she stood up and turned around looking at Issei and Xenovia. "We could take a look at this scythe, seeing she forgot it. She'll just have to come to us to retrieve her weapon. But I'm also curious as to what she meant by the word Faunus?"

Scarlet flew back to the city, she glanced around for a mechanical shop or something close enough to one. She sniffed the air as she was trying to pick up the scent of metal, she kept sniffing for any scents that would lead her to a workshop. She grins after finding the smell. "Down there." She glanced down towards a welding shop that was near a bar. "I can kill two birds with one stone... get a new arm, and help myself to a few drinks."

Once she had flown down towards the shop, her Nevermore wings folded behind her as she walked in. She scanned the place for a moment as she saw a man who had a welding mask on and was busy welding together some metal. She cleared her throat and put her hand on her hip, the man stopped what he was doing as he turned her attention towards Scarlet.

"Can I help you?" The man asked curiously as he kept his welding mask on, he was curious on what Scarlet wanted from him.

The Grimm girl looked around for another moment, her gaze falling upon the man. "Yes, yes you can. I need a new arm made. A robotic one... Do you think you can do it?"

The man sighed, he looked over at the parts he had off to the side. "And why should I make you a arm? I don't see any use in doing it."

Scarlet scoffed as she flapped her Nevermore wings, dust and papers flying through the air. "Because if you don't, I'll slaughter you and your family... until there is nothing left." She hadn't noticed she didn't have Black Rose with her, but she would at some point. 

The man was silent, he watched as Scarlet flapped her wings. He shrugged his shoulders a little. "Alright... I guess." He stood up and walked over to grab his tape-measure to make some measurements on how long Scarlet's arm was, he walked over towards the Grimm girl as he extended the tape-measure. He grabbed Scarlet's arm as he took the measurements needed. "This isn't my first rodeo, but I just need to make sure I have the correct measurements for this..." He marked it down as he walked back over to his workbench. "I'm not even going to ask what happened to your arm."

"So, how long will it take?" Scarlet asked folding her Nevermore wings behind her. She was waiting for the man to answer her question, she also wanted to be sure he didn't just say it to be saying it. 

"Depends, if you rush me. It'll come out shitty, but if you don't. It'll come out perfect, so which is it? Are you going to rush me or wait?" The man asked turning his gaze towards the Grimm girl.

Scarlet sighed but snickered. "Oh don't worry, I won't rush you. I'll just be next door, in the bar." She turned around to leave the shop but stopped. "Also, if someone by the name Issei shows up... don't bother talking to him." She wanted to make herself well heard, she turned her head to the side as her crimson red eyes glowed. "Or else."

The man didn't seem to say much else, he started to get to work on Scarlet's new arm. The Grimm girl walked out of the shop and went into the bar next door, upon entering. Everyone's attention was drawn towards her, the air fell stiff and quiet. So quiet, the sound of a coin dropping on the floor could be heard. Scarlet walked over towards the bar counter top and looked at the bartender.

"I'll have a Bloody Mary." Scarlet spoke, her eyes looking into the bartenders eyes like daggers into their soul. Everyone stayed quiet as the bartender fixed up the drink for Scarlet. She could sense that the bar had the scent of blood in the air, her gaze scanned the area around her. With the smell of blood in the air, it was a bit hard to make out if anyone in the bar posed a threat to her or not, but she didn't really care. All she knew was, by the end of the day. Everyone in this bar would be nothing but food for her.

A/N: [I know, not one of my best chapters by far. I wanted to have more stuff involved with Issei, Xenovia and Koneko in this one. But I figured I'd likely save that for the next chapter.]
