Chapter 8: Entrance exam part 2

Aria was currently walking through the forest with Alex by her side. They had found each other early on and teamed up. They were currently looking for John. "Jeez, these people are ruthless. Have you seen how fast these numbers are dropping down?"

"No, because I don't care. I'm just looking for John staying with you any longer and I'm going to eliminate myself," Aria sighed with irritation. She was with Alex from the beginning. He was just too excited about the whole thing he could not stop talking and it was irritating to hear.

"You're so moody is it that time of the month again?" Alex said as he laughed.

"No, it's just the time to prepare your casket." They began to argue in the middle of the forest, making themselves heard.

"Should I come back after you two finish?" A guy in a black hoodie with shorts and sandals asked as he came in front of them. The two of them immediately stopped.

"Well, shall we do some introductions or just fight?" The guy said it was so calm it was almost creepy. Alex didn't waste time he was getting weird vibes he cast his Tier 1 spell {Lightning bolt} straight at the guy's head. Lightning missed or to be more precise, the guy that was once in front of them vanished.

"What the hell." Alex and Aria had no idea what just happened; they were utterly shocked.

"Wow, you guys are weak." The guy who was once in front of them was now behind them.

Aria immediately turned around and used her race Ability spirit magic to amplify her wind magic and cast her tier 1 wind magic {Gust}. The magic was so strong it could easily break several bones and leave someone injured badly.

"Oh this is quite strong." the guy said, clapping as it was coming straight for him.

"But not strong enough ..." As soon as he spoke, a small black hole appeared above his hand that sucked in the magic attack and vanished like nothing. By the waves of power he displayed, Aria and Alex could tell that he was using tier 2 magic. He was a gray core making him able to cast tier 2 magic spells.

"Fuck we are screwed." This came to their minds instantly. While raising his hand at them, he dodged to the left before he could cast. Where he was standing, the ground started to crack and look distorted as if there was heavy pressure. A guy came out of the forest and looked at the guy in the hood with calm eyes.

"JOHN!!" His two friends yelled his name while the guy stood there looking at him. Aria and Alex came over to John's side. They all raised their hands to the guy with the black hood. The guy looked at John intensely.

"I'm leaving." The guy said as he started walking away.

"Wait, why did you change your mind?" John asked because he felt if the guy wanted to he could handle all three of them.

"I attacked them because of the Vampire there but I have no interest in offending a Demon." John was shocked at how he knew his race since he looked normal right now. He wondered if this guy had a thing against vampires as well.

"What's your name?" The hoodie guy asked

"My name is John and this is Aria and Alex and you?"

"The name is Ezra. I hope to see you outside of this test. Until next time." Ezra said as he quickly vanished.

"Do you think he gets hot in that sweatshirt? It's like 1000 degrees out here." Aria smacked Alex on the head for his stupidity.

"Let's move, we are going to eliminate as many people as we can. Being in this forest is getting on my nerves." John also wanted to move due to the loud commotion caused earlier. The count was down to 2,050 already. It was slowly creeping into the night. The three of them were sitting down by some trees. They were taking a break before they went out again.

"Damn I can't believe it's almost nighttime. This damn test is brutal." Alex kept complaining. Aria ignored him and so did John. John looked at the number and it was down to 300. It was slowing down. Fewer people were getting eliminated. They suddenly heard some twigs snap. John signaled Alex and Aria to hide.

"What the hell? It's so difficult to find people now that all these people have been eliminated." A guy said as he came out of the forest to where John and his friends had been. His arrogance gave off a Nobel vibe as if he thought he was above everything else. He dressed formally like he was a royal or something. He had two other people with him, one guy and one girl. A guy constantly praised the Nobel without any reason. Like the other guy, the girl gave off a Nobel feeling as well.

"Tch I don't see why someone as talented as me has to take this test. It's below my class to be among these bugs." The Nobel guy showed no shame.

"You're right sir. These people shouldn't even be compared to you," The other guy praised. Aria came up to John slowly as the three of them watched the group.

"John, do you think he is like a Nobel from those fantasy books? To think the world has changed to where this is normal." She whispered lightly as she didn't want them to overhear her.

"I don't know. I do know one thing though I hate this guy already." Aria smiled and she had to agree with him. Aria didn't find herself interested in a lot of people, especially people like this. The one she had her eye on was John. There was something that drew her to John, but she had no idea why. John looked at her as she was thinking hard about all of this.

"You ok, Aria?" He saw that she was in a daze. She looked up and locked eyes with him. She looked at him for a while before she snapped out of it.

"Yeah sorry." She felt a bit embarrassed that she got so distracted. John just nodded his head to her answer.

"Do you think we should ambush them?" Aria asked. She wasn't the type to be embarrassed over things. When she was with John, she felt a little shy, but she just put it down to the fact that he was different from everyone else. She didn't see him romantically, or at least she didn't think she did.

"Wait, we don't know how strong they are. So I am planning to ambush them. Once I test their power I will signal rather to retreat or fight." Aria nodded as she left and told Alex the plan.
