(Cassandra's POV)
My consciousness returns slowly and I feel a warm body draped over me but I don't dare hope that it's him.
"Momma?" I croak, still groggy from my unconscious state.
"Yes baby, momma's here," she replies softly causing me to sigh and burrow into her warmth.
"I'm tired, so tired," I mumble as I slump against and start to fall asleep, wanting, no, needing to escape reality but my mother thinks otherwise.
"No, you need to eat dinner," says and taps my cheeks causing me to scrunch up my nose and suck in my cheeks like I used to do when I was little.
Mom laughs in delight and I giggle too, "I love you momma," I whisper and she tightens her arms around me.
"I know but I love you more," she replies, causing me to snort as I remember when we used to argue about who loved the other more.
"Mom, I'm sorry for being a brat lately, please forgive me," I say, still lying in her arms.
