Chapter 4: Competition

The next day Jake woke up from the beeping sound of the system in his head. He took his bath and got dressed, the system told him to dress like a poor young villager. All the clothes needed were inside the closet he took them and wore them.

    The competition was supposed to take place in one of the palaces. In Terran there are 6Kingdoms and in them are 2 Queens and 4 Kings who are in charge of each of the Kingdoms. There was Asgard 1st kingdom

Avalon 2nd kingdom

El dorado 3rd kingdom

Britta 4th kingdom

Arcadia 5th kingdom

Alfheim 6th kingdom

According to the system Jake was from the 5th kingdom, Arcadia. And that was the place he was heading for the competition so he could get into school.

Jake was nervous he didn't know anything about arcadia and it was his birthplace. so he asked the system 

 'System please describe to me how arcadia is! '

Arcadia is ruled by a vicious and greedy king Matthew, he had ruled for 13 years now. He is someone who wants all for himself and stops at nothing to get it by all means possible. 

Recently he raised the tax rate to 25% and makes people work more than they expected only the rich and royals survive this harsh treatment because they also join in treating the people harshly and punishing the people.

Legend says that during the early times of arcadia, lots of beasts reside in Arcadia it's the land of plenty.]

    After what felt like a whole lot of lessons the system finally stopped talking. 

Jake finally reached Arcadia, its wall stood 70ft up, it was made of a type of material which Jake doesn't know it's was like it was mixed with red, in some parts and black in the other part. 

    The gates were opened which made Jake conclude that he wasn't the only one from outside that was coming for the competition. He got in, Arcadia was made up of different villages, and he was currently in the beggar's hole. 

 As the name implies it was where people from the slums or poor people stay, he passed the slums and got to the market area, then he got to White run another village but when he got there the people who stayed in White runs were much better than the people in Beggers hole.

    They were like the middle-class type of people. The place Jake was heading to was the City of fire which was where the castle was and where the competition was supposed to take place.

When he got there he could see many kids of his age standing at the competition ground waiting for it to start.

 After some minutes the Chief mage and the only Elementary level mage in Arcadia came out.

'Good day everyone my name as most of you who reside in Arcadia know, am Arthur the Chief mage of this kingdom! '

   'All of you are here to test your potential if you can get into arcadia academy. Only those who have the right potential can enter the rest will be disqualified and will not get another chance to enter arcadia academy, so each of you has your opponent standing next to you, defeat him or her and you can get into the academy! '

As soon as he said this he disappeared from everyone's eyes. The bell was soon run and all the kids from age 14-to 15 started engaging in a fighting stance.

[New quest gets into the Arcadia academy. Reward??]

As Jake heard this he got excited, he was thinking of the new skill or powers he was going to get.

Jake was up against a boy older and much fatter than him, the boy made rocks appear and he made them fall on Jake, but Jake dodged and threw a fireball at him, the fire touched his clothes and it started burning. The boy started jumping and shouting 'Fire! fire! please take it out, make it stop!'

 The teachers nearby quickly used water powers to of the fire and the boy was disqualified. Jake was sent to round 2 of the competition, it was the combat competition.

   This time the boy he was up against was huge and taller than him, as soon as the match started the boy threw punches at Jake, Jake managed to dodge some of the punches but more touched him everywhere, he then remembered the dummy and immediately use the skill he uses in defeating the dummy on the boy, he kicked the boy and also punched him which made the boy fall and was disqualified.

  Soon after the competition was over and Jake was among the 50 who got into the arcadia academy. They were all allowed to rest and start the next day. The academy was meant for people who will become mages and fighters to protect the kingdom and the king. Except of course any royals or rich who attend the academy.
