A Ridiculous Request

"I have run into unexpected happenings which will delay my return.

I grant my permission for Gina to work in your house but do not have my daughter work in the tavern like yours.

We shall meet soon."

Benedict looked up at Gina. He saw that she was happy her father had rejected Ansley's offer of marriage and that angered him.

He did not even know why he was angry but still, he felt that way.

'Uncle, when shall we write to my father about Rudd Emberton?' Gina asked.

Rudd Emberton was a noble's son and he had called on Gina in the recent past. However, Gina did not want to disclose what they had spoken about because they did not favor her.

'Whenever I write to your father again. Now, you must ask your cousin for her to come.' Benedict folded the letter in his hands.

'Shall I return with her then?' Gina questioned.

'Child, do as I say. If I have not asked you to return with her, then, shall you?'
