The station

**Wind sound mixed with the sound of a car engine**

as we were moving away from the oasis, the oasis lights were disappearing little by little

And while we were diving deep into the dark desert, the headlights of the car were making a way for us in this darkness

We were sitting in silence that was interrupted by my question to (Jamal)

"How long will our trip to the station take?"

(Jamal) replied, "From forty minutes to an hour, maximum"

(Osama) says, "Then we have plenty of time to continue our talk about the station."

Signs of sadness appeared on Jamal's face, then he said "about the truth of what happened. All I heard was that the oasis received a warning message from the station about a severe sandstorm that obscured the vision and that it was heading towards the oasis. It is strange that the weather here in the oasis was clear and the wind movement was weak. There were no indications of a storm, so we took our precautions in the oasis, then the day passed safely and there were no storms, , then A distress message was received from the station asking to send a rescue team because there was a tragic accident at the station"

He was silent for a moment, then continued " Rescue vehicles headed from the oasis directly to the station, only to find that the survivors showed signs of fatigue and panic.

And some of the workers are missing, and that the crane has fallen on the main building, causing severe damage.

The injured were transported to the hospital

While the rest of the rescue teams began searching for the missing

I interrupted him, "So far, what you say is identical to what came in the newspapers, so what is the truth?!!"

(Osama) said, "Wait, Salem, let (Jamal) continue"

* I locked my mouth and threw the key away*

(Jamal) sighed, "Maybe after hearing the rest of the story, you'll eventually call me crazy. Well anyway, I'll tell you the other side of the story that even the investigation team didn't believe.

where did we stop... umm .ah

After the survivors were transferred to the Oasis Hospital, Sheikh (Masoud), the chief of the Oasis, went to check on their health condition

To find that some workers lost the ability to speak

The rest of the workers told him what had happened to them, which shocked him"

Osama's eyes widened and expressions of curiosity appeared on his face. He could not control himself and said, "Jamal, tell me the smallest details. Do you hear me? The.. smallest .. details."

I turned my head to look at Osama as I gave him a serious

side-eye

And I muttered, "He orders me to be silent

And now he's interrupting him"

(Osama) noticed my looks at him and said to (Jamal) in stutter, "P..Please ..cont..continue your conversation, I'm sorry to interrupt you."

(Jamal) continued, "Then the sheikh listened to the story of the workers, who told him that during the routine excavation process, one of the bulldozers hit a hard object under the sand, so that the bulldozer driver shouted, "Tell the supervisor that the bulldozer hit something and stopped working."

Then the supervisor came and asked, "Did the bulldozer stop working again?" They told him what had happened, so he ordered the rest of the workers to remove the sand from this area. While the sand was being removed little by little, they found that the object that had been hit was not an ordinary block of sandstone, but rather seemed to be a solid mass. of green stone

After removing a small part of the sand, not exceeding half a meter, they noticed that the sky was darkening and there was a sand storm on the horizon about to approach. The supervisor ordered all the workers to go to the main building immediately to take cover from the storm.

When they reached the main building, the supervisor ordered them to close all windows and doors

Then the workers went to the dining hall and were talking about what they found

The supervisor instructed the Communication operator to send a message to the oasis to take precautions for the possibility of a sand storm"

(Jamal) grabbed the steering wheel in anger." Then the station manager came and shouted at the workers, "Why did you come back so early and didn't finish work?"

The supervisor of the workers told him what they found and that they stopped working because there was a sandstorm on the horizon

The manager shouted at him, "Has the storm come to the station yet!! .. And since when are you the one who gives orders here?

Don't stop work before the storm is over your head."

The supervisor shouts at him with the same loudness, "Above our heads!!! Are the workers' lives a joke to you, I am responsible for their safety and I see what is appropriate in the scope of work."

To stop their argument, the fierce sound of wind echoed through the dining hall

Even though all the windows and doors are closed

Then the sand storm completely engulfed the station, leaving no view outside the main building

The workers thanked the supervisor for making the right decision, and signs of anger appeared on the manager. As he was leaving the hall, the manager deliberately hit the supervisor's shoulder.

The storm passed the next day and the workers prepared to go to complete the work, and the manager went with them, unusually, who insisted that he would supervise the work himself.

And when they arrived at the place of the previous excavation, they found that the sand had flooded what they found, so the manager shouted at them to start immediately removing the sand.

They removed the sand completely and what they found was a huge wall of green peridot

It is five meters long, two meters wide, and no more than ten centimeters thick. It is installed on a broad base of black granite, and phrases in an unknown language and other inscriptions in the ancient (Amazigh) Language were engraved on the wall.

The strange thing is that you can look through it, and despite this, you can easily see the inscriptions

The manager's eyes sparkled with greed and he shouted, " Does anyone know what is written on the wall?

The supervisor approached the wall a little to check it, as he is well acquainted with the old Amazigh language, to show signs of panic on his face, and shouted, "Get away from the wall immediately. No one is touching it or moving it from its place."

The manager asks him what he has read, so the supervisor answers him "that the inscriptions in upper part warn of something, but the writing is not clear about what it is

And in the lower part there a warning not to move this wall, it was placed here for protection, and anyone who violates this will suffer severe consequences

Just let's bury the wall in the sand again"

The manager yells," are you crazy trying to convince me that this nonsense written on the wall is real?"

The supervisor said" there have been rumors that have been repeated through the generations that there are those who put warnings in the desert thousands of years ago of a great evil to come, but no one believed these sayings and this stone is the proof of the truth of these sayings"

The workers shouted that they also heard these gossip from their ancestors

"warning or not , this damn wall will be moved and the authorities will be informed of my discovery," said the manager angrily.

He ordered the workers to move the wall to the main building, and a full three months' wages would be paid as a reward, and their names would be mentioned in this discovery.

All the workers coming from the oasis refused strongly, so the manager looked at them and shouted, "Okay, you cowards," to look at the rest of the workers coming from other places, who did not show signs of fear.

The workers were divided into two groups, a group that followed the manager and his greed, and a group of oasis workers who believed the supervisor and what the ancestors said

The rest of the workers moved the lever over the wall, and then the workers began installing wires and struts under the wall base

The manager ordered the crane operator to start lifting the wall, which did not move an inch

"Pull as hard as you have," shouted the manager at the crane operator.

The crane operator pushed it to its maximum carrying capacity to make a strong screeching sound from gears like screaming.

The supervisor tried again to persuade the manager to stop moving the wall and the workers to stop

So The manager punched the supervisor in his chest and shouted, "Get out of my way and just do what your boss tells you to do and don't be arrogant, you ignorant Bedouin. Oh, and about the warning not to touch the wall, that's my response."

The manager pushed him in violence and anger towards the wall, causing the supervisor to lose his balance and fall and hit his head against the wall, causing him to lose consciousness

The workers were shocked as soon as they saw the blood that started to flow on the wall, and the manager looked terrified at the sight of blood.

the workers wake up from their shock, and immediately rushed towards the unconscious supervisor

Someone shouted at the manager, who was standing in panic, "'what did you do? He was a good person taking care of us, not as selfish as you. Think only of yourself and the benefit that will come to you."

The manager rushed in panic towards the main building and some workers chased after him

at that moment a strong wind blew and made the crane sway left and right, then the wires surrounding the wall were separated, and then the crane rose in the air and fell on the main building

The manager froze in place in terror

While some workers were trying to carry the supervisor's body, a light whirlwind of sand formed around the supervisor's body to separate it from the workers' hands, preventing them from approaching him. Then suddenly the color of the wall changed from green to blood red.

at the same moment the whirlwind of sand started to widen little by little to cover the supervisor's body and the wall

Then the whirlwind of sand suddenly disappeared, leaving behind it three entities

Or three human-like bodies dressed in blue clothes, like the uniforms of the( Tuareg) tribes

The workers were shocked and unable to move. One of the three entities approached and gently grabbed the supervisor's body, another violently grabbed the manager's neck, and another put his hand against the wall.

Then they looked at the workers, and one of them said: "Those who are blinded by greed will be judged, and those who have no greed will be saved, and you are the witnesses."

Suddenly, Winds mixed with sand blew from all directions, blocking the workers from watching what was happening, and all they could hear at that moment was the creaking of the wind.

Then all of a sudden everything calmed down and then the workers looked around and didn't find the wall and the three entities, and neither the supervisor nor the manager and the workers who helped the manager seemed to have vanished into thin air

After the workers woke up from the state of shock, they rushed to the main building, Unable to comprehend everything that happened

And immediately they sent a distress message to the oasis

...

(Jamal) sighed sadly and then went on saying, "This is all that the workers told Sheikh (Masoud).

But

The investigation authorities did not pay any attention to what the workers said and ordered that the workers be examined for any traces of drugs, which had negative results. The matter even reached a point where they were referred to a psychiatrist to test the health of their mental strength.

And after examining them, it was found that they were in their full mental strength, but they were subjected to a severe nervous shock, and it is impossible for a group of people to go crazy at the same time and for their testimony to match the exact description

The psychiatrist also noted that most of the workers who did not exceed the age of thirty had completely gray hair on their heads, or what is known as (Marie Antoinette syndrome).

Then came the final report of the investigation team that the equipment was old and dilapidated, and that the station did not follow safety standards, which led to the crane falling on the main building due to strong winds. As for the station manager, the workers supervisor and the rest of the workers, they are still missing

The case was closed, and the company that owned the station was sued for not taking safety standards, and they were sentenced to pay all compensation to the families of the missing and injured.

And the company's permit to work in mining was canceled, which led to the company's bankruptcy"

...

(Jamal) paused for a moment, then said, "Well, I told you everything I know, and you are free to choose what to believe"

There was a complete silence in the car, while the noise of thoughts filled my head

Moments later, I noticed that we were approaching a fully lit building

"We have finally arrived at the station," said (Jamal).

(Jamal) parked the car in front of the main entrance to the research station building

We got out of the car and took our luggage from the trunk to find a young man in his late twenties coming out of the gate and heading towards us smiling and saying, "I'm Youssef, welcome to Research Station 13"
