Introduction

First, let me introduce myself. Hi My name in Shagun, I am 15 years old and belong to a middle class family from north Indian society.

Living at my maternal grandparents house with my mom since we left the abandoned one. Oh yes, you heard that quite right. The "abandoned house" means where me and my mom were living before we came here. And what else do you call a house where you are just treated like a trash.

All this started when I wasn't even born. My mom got married to a person she didn't even knew. But still chooses to start a new life with him. And what did he do? acted like he cares about her, and this act ended in two-three days. The starting was when she started getting tortured after few days of her marriage. All of them started accusing her for bringing less heavy gold ornaments and less dowry from her parents. My Father(never felt like he was) even started abusing and harassing her. But none of my grandparents, aunt(dad's sister), uncle(her husband) ever spoke that "No that's wrong" they were happy, that my mom wouldn't disturb her parents and won't give any pressure on them as she was newly wedd. That's what all girls do...right? they'll get abused, they'll be harrased but they won't say anything because they knew that they have no other way.

This time period passed...but now after a year she was also carrying a hope with herself. That was me in her womb. She even told me how she would talk to me when she was suffering at the time of her pregnancy. But those devils even didn't left this opportunity to torture her and still continued what they did. On my mom's baby shower, she just took a rest till everyone(relatives) was there on the occasion.

After that time she was not being able to take medicines and care for herself as my grandmother always called her for every chore.

And the day when I finally came into this world was the only day my mom was waiting for. Everyone was happy, but just who came from my mom's side. My dad use to blamed my mom that I'm not even his child. Heartbreaking...isn't it?

But she was so strong that still she decided to stay with him. She hoped that one day he'll understand that how much she cares for him. But that day never came.
