Team RWBY and Tean JNPR were walking towards the training room 6. There are a total of 23 training room in Beacon, and you need to ask for permission first to use it.
The two teams have decided to do a joint training session which was agreed upon by the leader of both team; Ruby Rose of Team RWBY, and Jaune Arc of JNPR.
Apparently, the two best friends had a fight when Jaune took the loot of the hidden boss in an RPG he and Ruby played.
Ruby, who dealt the most damage was left with only EXP, while Jaune, who decided to do a hit-and-run tactic and stole the last-hit and killed the boss took most of the loot and even the bonus item for being the one to kill the boss.
Ruby was filled with righteous fury as she tackled Jaune and bit his arms. Jaune retaliated by eating all the cookies in her cookie jar she has been hiding, and it escalated from there.
The two then just decided to drag their team in a team battle.
"Grrr~!" Ruby growled at Jaune. She was being held back by Yang who couldn't help but stare at her in resignation. "Let me at him! I want to punch that stupid smirk out of his face!"
"Rubes..." Yang sighed, before glaring at the smirking Jaune. This is your fault, she mouthed.
Jaune shrugs, "Not my fault she's stupid. Who would rush head-on against a hidden boss and scream her name? I'm smart enough to use strategies and I own those loots since I'm the one who killed the boss."
"Lies! Lies! You kill stealer! I will never forgive you! Team RWBY, no matter what, you must crush his team! Prove why we're the number one team in Beacon!"
Weiss Schnee rolled her eyes at her leader, "We're not even remotely close to being the number one. We're not even number one in our year, much less the entire Beacon."
Jaune smirked, "Yes. Because we're number one. I may not be the best of fighter, but I have an Ex-rank in strategies. We never lost a single team battle."
"It's because you cheated! There's no way we could've lost otherwise! And Pyrrha's a bug! She could totally solo our team if she hold nothing back, which is unfair!"
"I'm not that good." Pyrrha muttered, face blushing at the praise.
"You are that good." Ruby deadpanned.
"And I'm weak," said Jaune, rolling her eyes at Ruby, "You don't even have to struggle that much to beat me. Nora isn't that fast, but she's strong. And Ren is fast and agile but lacks strength and stamina."
"Our team is perfectly balance," said Nora with a grin, "as all things should be. Yes! I finally gets to use that quote! I've been waiting for the perfect time!"
Ren stared at Nora and asked, "Don't tell me it's something you learned from your dream."
"Yep!" Nora nodded, "That dream was wierd though. In that dream, I'm a universe tyrant who wanted to collect six powerful stones to wipe out half the life of the universe. It's pretty cool."
Jaune stared at Nora for a moment before turning towards Ruby, "Besides, if you actually bothered on planning some strategies instead of just, I don't know, rushing forward, you would at least be a challenge to us."
"Oh now you said it!" Ruby turned into petals and escaped Yang's hold before she bolted towards Jaune and tackled him to the ground.
"Gah!?" Jaune cried out in pain as he flew to the wall. He glared at the pouting Ruby and grabbed her chubby cheeks and pinched them, "What do you think you're doing, crater face..."
Ruby grinned as she went and pinched Jaune's cheeks, "Ah dun ow, you shell we? Vohmith voy."
"Alright enough." Weiss frowned as she used her semblance, Glyphs, to separate the two. "I don't want to deal with your childishness any longer."
"Grrr!" Ruby was swinging her arms and legs like kitty as she growled at Jaune. She was stuck in Weiss' glyphs and struggled to get out.
Jaune stick out his tongue at her as he patted his clothes clean.
The group then continued to the training room, with Ruby glaring at Jaune all the way. This just cemented Jaune's belief that having a girl just ain't worth it.
It's fine if you're friends, you can slap your female friends and they'd laugh it off later, but if she's your girlfriend and you slapped her, you better prepare yourself for a week, possibly, month long apologies.
As the group went inside the training room they reserved, they noticed a single figure moving agilely around the room and kicking the training-bots.
She moves so gracefully, like dancing in the air. Perhaps Pyrrha was the only one who can match those moves - the redhead champion was very flexible.
Then, as if noticing their presence, the figure stopped and turned towards them. The group's eyes widened when they saw her long brown hair and brown rabbit ears.
"Velvet?"
"Yes?"
Velvet Scarlatina, 2nd Year student of Beacon Academy. She has been the object of bullying - mostly the first year Team CRDL with their leader, Cardin Winchester as the main bully - but didn't bother fighting back.
They thought that she just wasn't good at combat, but with those moves they witnessed earlier, they know she could kick team CRDL ass without breaking a sweat.
"Oh, team RWBY, and JNPR," Velvet looked at the clock on the wall and her ears stood up straight, "Oh my. I got so engrossed in training I forgot the time. It's your turn to use the training room is it? I apologize."
"No, no, it's fine." Ruby stepped forward, with stars in her eyes, "But wow. You were all 'whoosh!' and 'bam!' and 'kapow!' You're so cool!"
"I'll say," Yang smirked and circled around Velvet, "Those legs could give Nora's a run for her money."
Velvet blushed as she lowered her head while Nora pouted. There's no way Velvet rabbit-legs could stand a chance with her thunder thighs.
"I'm surprise you haven't used these babies to kick Cardin's ass. Why'd you let him bully you like that anyway? You need to stand up for yourself Velvet." Said Yang.
"Quite." Weiss stood beside Yang, "Violence isn't always the answer Yang. She probably just don't want to bother dealing with Cardin and his team. Though, I agree with Yang a little, you should at least give them a little smacking."
"Cardin's not that bad," Velvet muttered.
Blake perked up, and stared at Velvet, "But he is. Ever since classes starts, he has done nothing but bully those weaker than him - no offense Jaune - especially Faunus."
"None taken." Jaune shrugs.
"You don't know him at all!" Velvet loudly exclaimed, startling the two teams. Velvet realized her outburst as she covered her mouth before apologizing, "I-I'm sorry. I, I didn't mean to yell."
Jaune stared at her for a moment before remembering the conversation he had with Shirou before about the Winchester.
"Do you know him?" Asked Jaune, as everyone turned towards him, "Before 'that' happened, do you know him?"
Though the others look confused, Velvet's eyes widened as she nodded. "I do. It's just, I don't think he remembers me at all. For him of that time, I'm just one of the many Faunus he and his family helped."
Yang chuckled, "Cardin helping a Faunus? Yeah right, you might have mistook him for someone else."
"Shut up! Don't talk bad about him! You don't know Cardin at all!" Velvet glared at Yang who took a step back, looking at Velvet in shock.
Jaune raised his hand to calm Velvet down, "Believe it or not, the Winchesters used to be a major supporter of White Fang in Vale. They have donated quite a hefty sum for Faunus that couldn't pay for their medical bills, they donated in orphanage for Faunus, and even have a scholarship program for the Faunus."
Velvet stared at Jaune in shock but she nodded, "My mom was one of the person they have helped. She has been in dialysis for six years already, and she desperately needed a kidney transplant or else she'll die. We found a donor, but we don't have enough money for the operations. It was the Winchesters who helped us. My family and I are eternally grateful to them."
The room was silent. Team RWBY along with Pyrrha and Ren couldn't believe that the family of the infamous bully was actually like that.
"What changed?" Asked Nora, "Obviously, Cardin and his family wasn't what you described anymore."
Velvet hesitated, but answeres with gritted teeth, "White Fang happened." She spat out with burning hatred, "Those bastards, they have forgotten all the good things Winchester have done...they planted a bomb on the bullhead with Cardin's mom on it, killing her along with the rest of passengers. Ever since then, the Winchester have changed. They stopped supporting the Faunus, and even began oppressing them."
Silence permeates the room as Velvet continued, "The White Fang...I wished they all died."
No one noticed, but Blake flinched at that statement. Well, no one except Jaune, who stood quite close to her.
Velvet seems to realize her words, but didn't try to apologize or take it back, "Well, I'll be leaving now. Good luck with your training."
As she left, the room was engulfed in silence.
Until it was broken by Nora.
"Well...that was something."
