Manipulative (I)

"However, I still think there is a slight chance your body won't be able to bear my powers for now. Therefore, I give you this warning," Mia said.

"Uh… why do you think so?" Roman asked while scratching his head. He looked pretty confused with all the points Mia had made so far, not to mention many questions suddenly crossed his mind all at once.

"Well, they don't recognize me as The Queen without one specific reason," the Devil replied casually.

"And that is…?"

Mia immediately released another heavy breath after hearing what Roman had just said, "My powers are too massive. Although I know that basically you are half a human and half a devil now, I'm sure it's still risky for you to activate my powers and use even just one of them now," Mia explained, though she was kind of forced to do it.

"Stingy. Just say you don't want me to use your powers," Roman said as he folded his hands across his chest.

"I literally said your body isn't ready to bear my powers FOR NOW, which means you better wait for a while to activate my powers. I mean, the decision is yours, I just wanted to make sure that you understand you don't have a third chance to live. Your death won't affect me at all, though, so I wouldn't mind whatever decision you'll eventually make," Mia made the statement without a burden, though Roman's stupidity annoyed her at the same time.

'This kid… I swear he makes me realize I shouldn't get horny too often, or else my mind wouldn't work properly as his,' the Devil thought later.

"Oh, one more thing, whatever the decision you're going to make, it won't bother the fact that my existence in you has enhanced your physical strength. This means if you are in a fight and choose not to use my powers or don't have help from any weapons, you still have a larger chance to win than how it was when you were still just a regular human.

Your body will be harder to injure, as well as your bones; they will be harder to break. Your physical attacks will also be way more powerful than how they used to be, not to mention your stamina, speed, durability, and agility all have been enhanced too. I'd say without even using my powers, you now are already stronger than the majority of the Vampires," Mia then added a pretty important point.

"Hmmm…" Roman didn't say anything else for a couple of moments as he was focused on thinking about some things while looking down and touching his chin.

"So, any questions?" But Mia opened a new chance for conversation not long after.

"Ay, yeah. A lot," the boy quickly answered. His eyes turned to the Devil again at the same time.

"First, I am confused about 'they' that you mentioned… who are they?" He continued.

"They?" Mia frowned. She didn't expect Roman to ask such an unclear question, which confused her.

"The ones that call you The Queen of Devils," Roman replied casually and innocently.

"I-" Mia was speechless.

"What?"

"I really thought you were gonna ask something more relevant, but okay…." The Devil said before sighing again.

"Hey, that's relevant," Roman defended his question.

"Whatever you say."

"They are the other Devils… and the people who know our existence, in a way where they actually know how our world and lives are, not just having an idea of what a Devil is, like the majority of you guys," Mia continued and answered Roman's question before the boy could say anything else to defend his question.

"Wait, I just noticed it. If all this time Devils indeed exist and there are a lot of you, why is this my first time seeing a Devil?" Roman then made sure about this point while frowning.

"I've told you that we have our own world; it is a separate world from yours. I won't give you more details about it since your brain doesn't have enough capacity to process and imagine it, but I can say that it is almost impossible for Devils to break free from their world and come into your world.

However, from the countless Devils that exist, around ten, including me, are currently exist in your world. We are usually recognized as the greatest ones, or just say the strongest Devils. Some of them can travel back to our world and come back here whenever they want; the thing that is entirely impossible for regular devils even just to imagine," the Devil explained carefully.

Meanwhile, Roman was silent for a moment after hearing Mia's explanation. After knowing about all these new things, a lot was going on in his mind, which undoubtedly stressed him a little.

"Uh… I don't think it answered my question…" the boy said while scratching his head again.

"It pretty much did. If you ask me why you hadn't met those nine Devils before meeting me, then I don't know. I wasn't even in this world before the one that makes up your fate sent me to save you. They are probably spreading around this world, or even have always been around you but you didn't notice them because they didn't fit your imagination about Devils," Mia defended her answer.

"Hmmm… I can take that…" Roman responded with his right hand touching his chin.

"But I just think about this other thing; you've mentioned before that I am someone chosen; now, I don't know what that could possibly mean, and I obviously would like to hear you explain it. Also, I want to know who chose me and why did they choose me? Like… Why am I chosen? Do you think this may be like… I don't know… the same 'being' as the one who makes up my fate?" The boy continued not long after. He managed to make Mia, for the countless time, release a heavy breath again.

"You have a big curiosity for someone whose brain is kinda damaged, huh?" Mia said in annoyance.

"What?"

"Huff. We've talked enough, let's just focus on what matters right now. Besides, I'm not here to just answer all your questions."
