Journey, II

"I'll be taking this one, old man," I said while relishing the look he gave me.

Sigh

Why am I enjoying the look of a frightened man? I chastised myself.

"Hah," he let his breath out. "I-I won't ask what that was, here y'ng one. Ya really have a nice eye for things." He complimented me.

"So, what about the deal?" I gave him a questioning look.

"Heh, yer already sure ya got the best craft of mine, quite confident ain't ya!" He talked as he started to wrap my katana.

"Of course," I grinned and continued, "But truly, old man, you have some nice equipment here and yet you have no customers. I feel bad for what they're missing out on."

"Heh, in today's age, ther' ain't many people who look and buy stuff like ya, kid." He exclaimed.

"There truly isn't… in a world like this," I said and received an immediate voice of his thoughts.

"Kid, yer going on and on about this world this, and this world that?"

"Oh, no don't worry it is just a bad habit of mine," I said.

The katana was just about done and as he put it in the bag he said "Here, as per the deal, the price is in half. Five-hundred-forty dollars."

What.

WHA-?! I screeched within myself.

Immediately, Luke's words rang in my mind, "Equipment of this sort is expensive".

They truly are.

I peeked inside my wallet. "Um… dear sir… I got only one-hundred-twenty actually…"

"Ngah? S'rry then y'ng one, I can't give it to ya for that much only."

"Hmmm, you got a rock or something? One of strong, dense material," I asked.

"Hm? Yes, 'f course I do, ther' ya go." He said as he looked through some stuff and threw a clear-looking one. Could this be a diamond?

"Yea, it's a diamond." He said with a grin.

"Are you listening to my thoughts, shitty old man?" I replied in a goofy tone.

"It's your eyes telling me what ya think, ya better work on that." He gave me advice.

"Of course," I nodded and started circulating mana through my body.

I began to think, would fire or wind be better? Hmmm, fire would do more damage while wind could amplify the speed of the attack (the swing of the sword), so I guess I should go with wind magic.

I started to circulate the multi-colored particles toward my hand, green-colored ones especially, inside the diamond.

The diamond started shining, and green rays of light started to overtake the gloomy part of the room.

Yet again, I got a satisfactory reaction. Humu, that's what I like. This man reacts how I want everyone to respond to my doings.

The clear-looking diamond took a shade of a green hue and remained like that.

I tossed the gem back into his hands, he brought it close to his eyes and asked with an astonished look, "What's this…?"

"Well, that is a type of wind spell imbued inside that diamond, attach it to a sword, and try  to swing with it."

"Wind spell? What're ya talkin' about?" He asked with a disbelieving frown on his face.

"Just try it already, shitty old man…"

He got a good-looking sword, probably his 2nd best creation, and attached it to a small space in its hilt.

"Haha, it's as if this space was made for this." He started smiling.

"Lift it and swing it. Give it a try!" I urged the old man.

"Huh?!?" he gave an alarming look and turned back to me, "It's as light as a feather!!?".

I grinned, "I know right?" Then continued, "You can probably sell this sword a fortune and retire already." I stated a fact.

"Yer right…"

"Well, will you still charge me for the sword? Do I have to give my last coins?" I asked with puppy eyes.

"Is that even a question?" He replied instantly.

"Thank you, and about your question earlier… I might be a young mage from a fantasy world." I gave a gentle smile as I turned back and left the store quickly.

"Wa-Wait-…" I heard him, I concealed my presence and moved towards the shop where I left Luke and Sean.

I could see the old man running out of the store, looking for me and asking people while describing my features, after a short while he gave up and went back to his shop.

George Clinker POV:

That young boy… Can I even call him a young one at this point?

Ever since he first got into my store, I noticed this aura about him, as if the world was moving around him, and not the opposite.

He had this composure and confidence. Even his expressions, did he do them on purpose?

Then there was one incident after another, he started concentrating on something and immediately my breath got sucked out of my lungs, and my knees gave out. I fell ass first to the ground.

All the swords came flying down the shelves, ravaging noises overcoming the forge. And when I saw him pick up my best creation, he truly felt like someone I shouldn't be eyeing so easily.

Then the diamond… What did he do, was he actually from a fantasy world?

Just…What is he…?
