The next day a injured Vincent slept till late. however he was eventually woken up by the noise outside the hut. A carriadge has arrived at the village and everyone was gathering around it. Seems like the carriage had arrived just before noon.
Carriage Driver: "Do you know why I'm here?"
Village Chief: "Yes, there are the three men we have chosen to send."
The elderly chief pointed at Shack and two of his followers who soon got onto the carriage.
Carriage Driver: "Is there a Vincent in this village?"
Village Chief: "Y-yes, why might you ask?"
Carriage Driver: "The Lord requested his presence."
Village Chief: "Do you know why he requested Vincent's presence?"
Carriage Driver: "All I know is that I must bring him to the Lord."
The Elder leaned towards Vincent and whispered.
Village Chief: "Well Vincent your either about to get good treatment or get executed. personally I hope for the first option."
By noon the cartridge left the village and headed to the next. onboard were already another 7 people from the previous villages
Some were talkative some were not. Most of the passengers were less than enthused to have been conscripted. From the conversations Vincent overheard he discovered that most of the villages didn't even know where the other villages were located despite being Nabors. It seemed that only the Village Vincent stayed had had the misfortune of having to fight skeletons as for the other villages the concept sounded completely alien. Vincent once again thought that there was decently something very wrong with that cave.
The next village was larger however instead of sending adults or even teenagers they sent 5 kids as old as Vincent. This socked Vincent as he expected all villages to send capable fighters but it is possible he simple underestimated them. His gut feelings however were telling him that these kids weren't even hunters and even less warriors. After this top the carriage heeded to the capital town of the region.
As the Cartridge approached Vincent saw walls of stone sounding the town. A each of the few fortified positions on the walls were manned by archers and occasionally a spearman or two.
Vincent: "Shak you think the militia will be wall guard like those guys over there?"
Shak: "Possible... I don't know."
The gates opened and the Carriage entered the town. A muscular man entered the carriage and loudly said.
Muscular man: "All of you are coming with me to the barracks. I don't want to hear any complaints as I do not have the time for them and i couldn't care less either way."
Everyone disembarked off the Carriage including Vincent. By this point Vincent half expected to get dragged to the barracks too yet instead he the carriage driver stopped the muscular man.
Carriage driver: "The lord wants to see this one. He requested his presence. "
Muscular Man: "If so who am i to say no? Bring him the the town hall."
The carriage driver nodded to the muscular man and brought Vincent towards a large building at the center of the town. On his way to the town hall Vincent got a brief view of the town. The people looked average, they weren't starving nor were they overly well fed, they wore unimpressive clothes and had a common aura around them. The buildings too were unimpressive and about average for what one would expect of such a town, the only impressive thing to catch Vincent's eye the entire time was that the whole town was surrounded by a rocky wall which was quite rare for a town yet not unheard of. Eventually they reached the town hall. The carriage driver brough Vincent inside and led him too a room in which was a Chubby man with black hair. He was looking down at what seemed to be a map and some related papers as the driver knocked on the door. The cubby man signaled the Driver to enter and Vincent followed. Than the driver made a small bow to the man before he spoke.
Carriage Driver: " My Lord I have here the man who claims to go by the name of Vincent. "
Chubby man (the Lord: "Good you may leave us"
The driver bowed and than briskly left.
The Lord: "You shall refer to me as ,Lord Cyrus understood?"
Vincent: "Understood Lord Cyrus"
Lord Cryus: "Your extremely lucky young man. Me men report every single thing they hear to me and i heard you happen to claim to be the son of the Kings right hand. I happen to have heard a rumor about his son being missing and unfortunately i don't have the time and resources to quickly validate its truthfulness. Even more luckily for you i must send a messenger to the capital soon so I'll add a message about a kid calming to be Vincent there. If your who you claim to be lucky you and lucky me, if your not than unlucky you while i already would have stated that its possible your not who you claim to be. Until i get a response from the capital you will be staying here.
