Mary opened her eyes and found herself back in her old house before it was burnt.
She glanced left and right, confused about where she was at.
Where am I? I remember chatting with Lucius in the bedroom. How and why am I in my old kitchen? Shouldn't all of them be gone now? I remember the house burnt in front of my eyes-
Mary was interrupted by a sudden sound. It sounded as if someone was walking down the staircase.
She turned her sight to the staircase. It was dark, the lights weren't on. She heard the footsteps slowly getting louder. Then, as the footsteps grew louder, she saw a silhouette gliding down the stairs.
She ran to a drawer near the sink. She pulled open the drawer and it was filled with knives. She took out a chef's knife and faced it to the staircase.
The silhouette was now at the bottom of the staircase, standing. Mary could tell it was staring at her.
Suddenly, it began to close in on Mary. It walked closer and closer until it stepped into the light.
It showed a blonde hair and blue eyes kid. It was Jack. Mary stood there in disbelief.
"Sister, what are you doing with that knife?"Jack asked.
Mary snapped out of it, and her eyes slowly began to fill with tears.
She asked "Are you, Jack? Are you really my brother!?"
Jack nodded and said, "Sister, is there something wrong?"
Mary couldn't resist herself any longer. She threw herself onto Jack, hugging him passionately.
Jack stood there confused and hugged her back. Mary hid her face in Jack's shoulder, sobbing.
Mary could feel her brother's warm embrace.
Seconds passed and Mary no longer felt her brother's temperature. It was cold and heavy. She looked up and saw her brother's lifeless body in her hands.
"Brother!Brother!" Mary shouted in panic. "Wake up! Please don't play tricks on me! It's not funny! Please!"
But her brother didn't move nor budge as if he was dead. Suddenly, two hands appeared on either side of Mary's face.
She wanted to push them away but for some reason, her body couldn't move. She couldn't control her body no matter how hard she tried as if her body was ignoring her command.
The hands covered her eyes and in a split second, the hands released her eyes. She was in a red room, her brother wasn't in her hands anymore.
Instead, his brother was now in the middle of the red room, inside a cage. Mary opened her mouth, wanting to call out to him. She opened her mouth but no sound came out as if someone muted her.
Then, a man in a white coat appeared next to Jack. The man didn't have a face. He opened the cage and his brother stood up.
His brother stumbled out of the cage and held the man's hand. The man and his brother turned their back on Mary and started walking further and further away from her. Mary wanted to yell, to call her brother back but there wasn't a single sound coming out of her mouth.
Tears began to flow down her eyes as she tried to shout. She blinked away the tears and found herself once again opening her eyes.
Her left hand was stretched out, facing the ceiling. Fresh tears were rolling down her face and she was desperately gasping for air.
She looked to her right and saw two wardrobes, she knew she was back.
Was that a nightmare? But it felt so real! And my brother...
She lay there, rubbing her tears away. She wanted to sit up but something heavy was on her stomach, preventing her from moving.
She looked down and saw a pale arm, laying on top of her stomach. She followed the arm with her eyes and found herself looking at Lucius's sleeping face a few inches away from hers.
The heat rose in her cheeks. As she hastily pushed his arm off her and slipped out of bed. She ran to the corner of the room and yelled.
"What do you think you're doing!?"
Lucius rubbed his eyes tiredly, awoken by Mary's scream. He stared at her, his eyes narrow. As Mary was about to speak, he laid back and fell asleep again.
What? Did he just fall asleep again? Ugh! Let's not care about him.
Suddenly, Mary's stomach let out a loud rumble.
I need to find some food first...Should I wake him up? Nah! I'm just going for a quick meal. It's going to be fine. I hope.
She walked to the door and saw the tip of Lucius's tail leaning against the door. She didn't care about it and quietly twisted open the handle. She gently pulled the door as the door left a little gap.
A hand came from behind Mary and shut the door with a loud bang. Mary glanced behind her, trembling. Lucius was standing behind her, his hand was still on the door.
He didn't seem to notice her. His eyes were wide awake and threatening, staring at the door. His pupils were sharp and merciless. His mouth was hanging open, revealing his terrifying sharp fangs.
Mary stood there, not knowing what to do. She was petrified of what will happen next.
