She Who Faced a Foe (Part 2)

"Well, I have been telling him the same thing, so you are not alone."

I replied. Well, that was the whole truth. I have been telling Duncan I was not a nice choice. However, I really cannot change the way he thinks or feels.

"He needs more. He - what?! " Angus must have thought that I would be gloating. He must have assumed that I would be the type of woman who likes attracting rich people.

Man, he was dead wrong.

"I said," I calmly told him, "I have told him, more than once, that I'm not the one he seeks and he ignored it. So if you want to get mad at someone, you are getting mad at the wrong person."

"You should have tried harder to tell them you should have tried the harder to reject him you should-"

"Mind your own business."

Said a voice that came behind me, as the air around me felt charged. Whoever this new person was, Angus must have known who he was. Angus has a detestable look about him that he cannot wait to leave.

Unfortunately, his hate for me was the top priority.

I didn't dare to look at who the new person was. I can definitely say that I am surrounded by gods though. The sudden appearance must have rattled Angus. I could feel that the pointed tip of the sword had gone deeper.

"I would suggest you leave, Norseman. This is not your business he is not your king."

Again, hearing Angus call Duncan king was unsettling. I can safely say that Duncan is one of the most notable people in the world, but a king?

"He is my friend though. And he told me to look after her and hers so I suggested that you put that sword away and go back to whatever place you belong to." The voice said.

I heard a growl. A deep growl of anger, then a rustle of fallen dead leaves indicating that someone behind me was walking. I have no idea who this person was. However, the growl I heard was made by one being that was capable of making a deep and deadly sound.

Fall.

After a couple of heartbeats, Fall was beside me. His massive body stood to my right. While the man finally came to my view on my left.

Wait, what? I had to blink several times to make sure that my eyes were not deceiving me. What the heck is Chris Hemsworth doing here? And why was his hair black?

It was impossible to ignore this man. He was as tall as Duncan, and even the way their hairstyles were the same. As for the way both men dressed, honestly, I do not know if they were brothers or twins. I stopped speculating the second the man glanced at me and winked.

I felt Fall nudge my hand, asking to be petted. As soon as he touched his head, I had the same sensation as when End touched me. I can feel some kind of energy flowing in me.

I can't describe it at first. But as I continued to examine what was happening I knew my life would be different from now on. Duncan has a lot to answer.

Fall let out an ear-piercing howl. Several howls followed suit. Strathpeffer was a quiet place, and the dogs acted the same way. To hear that many howls were disturbing.

"Ah, Angus. Failinis had called his friends," The Thor look-alike said, as a grin appeared on his lips. "You really should put that away. You may be powerful, but this woman can really crush your balls."

I was taken aback when this man called Fall a different name. 'Failinis?' That dog?

"Ha! How could a mere-"

He stopped mid-word when I took the sword from him. Angus was shocked. No one was allowed to touch his sword. The sword I was holding was part of his life essence, thus making it impossible to be held by another being. But I have it.

The fuck!? How did I know that?! Why?

The Thor looked alike and must have seen the confusion on my face. He took the sword from me, causing Angus to be even more furious.

He charged at the other man, intending to hurt the man, but I did the stupidest thing. I stepped in front of the man he was about to attack, grabbed the sword he took from me, and pointed it the same way he had. Only this time, the tip was pointed at his heart.

Angus had an astonished look on his face. He was not expecting me to step between them. He was probably thinking that I would be hiding behind 'Thor'. There was an astonished look about him when he felt the tip of his very own sword pierced his flesh.

"I don't know why you are here," I began, my voice sounded calm and collected, yet inside I was shaking in anger. "I have no idea what you wanted from me, or what you will gain by doing these things." I felt the man take a step back. I took it as a sign that he believed I could take care of myself.

Or it was a way to avoid getting hit by me. Fall, however, did the opposite. He walked to me and felt his body brushed against mine, remaining by my side.

"I welcomed you as a guest, yet what did you do?" I asked, not breaking eye contact. I can feel the anger inside me slowly rising to the surface. The tone of my voice changed as I spoke, "I do not know what you have done to my friends, and I want you to erase their memories or alter them so they will forget you have ever visited The Belle. I promised them a safe place, yet you proved to them that they cannot keep my word."

My anger burst free. This man, this stupid dimwit, hurt the people I call my family. I found myself slowly pushing the tip of his sword deeper into his chest. I saw the tip sink, but I did not care.

"Juls, stop."

I looked behind my back to see the man's hand outstretched. "You do not want your hands bloodied. Duncan will have my hide. I think he gets that you are not to be messed with." He tilted his head to Angus, in return, I looked at the man in front of me once more.

Fear. That was the only emotion that was written on his face. He was pale and he did not look like the Angus who first checked in The Belle. The moment I withdrew the sword, his completion began to normalize. When I was sure he was okay, I flipped the sword and handed him the hilt.

He was taken aback. Why was he always shocked by me? I mean, had he never met a person like me? But before I could ask him, he vanished.

Leaving me, Thor-look alike, and Fall looking at the spot where he vanished.
