What if I don't get married

Alvah appeared with Aeron " As a reward I got you Aeron"

Aeron laughed at his words. " Reward". He repeated and Alvah nodded.

" Thank you for Zillah" he held her hand and dragged her along with him. He winked and Cristal and she laughed at his action with a raised brow.

" What do you want to do?" Aeron asked Cristal walking over to where she stood.

" I haven't had a hug from anyone in a week". Cristal said with a baby voice and Aeron looked at her with a funny expression.

That was true, keva wasn't normal enough to give her her regular hugs. And she needed a substitute.

He held her by the neck and pulled her squeezing her tightly and she chuckled. " Do you like that"?

" Yeah " she nodded at him and he ruffled her hair. With no doubt she knew that was a friendly hug followed immediately by ruffling her hair.

Her heart stung for a moment. ' am I really friend zoned by Aeron'. She thought to herself looking at him. ' does he really not want to get married to anyone nor have a partner'.

" Aeron " she called his name. " What is that?" He asked her sitting down on the grass and she did so too.

She decided to take the bold step and give herself the answer she wasn't ready for " Do you not want a partner?".

He laughed for a few seconds. ", who told you that?" For a moment she felt relieved that it was a joke and that maybe Zillah had taken it way too seriously.

" Yeah I do not" her heart dropped as fast. " Zillah must have told you that I know".

" But why?. Haven't you found someone?".

" Cristal we all know that, we do not choose who our partners will be". He said flicking her head.

" Exactly we do not get to pick so you do not get to decide if you want a partner or not". He laughed till she continued and he noticed she was getting serious by the sentence.

" Your father had you because he obviously fell in love with a woman. Your grand father, your great grand father…"

" Cristal …" she didn't let him interrupt her. "I'm just saying if your parents got married you can too. You should too". She held his cheek bone her eyes welled up with emotions.

Areron was perplexed but begining to get the hint. " Cristal are you okay?" He held her hands and they were cold.

She released her hands from his hands sitting back down with her eyes glued to the grass. Hearing those words from his mouth made it even more harder to believe and accept it.

" Cristal you know nothing about my family". She looked up at him holding back the tears in her eyes.

" My grand dad did not marry for love". Cristal's eyes widened in absolute shock and distraught. " What'd do you mean?". She could barely speak without sounding like she wanted to cry.

" Let's get up for this one". He held her and they both stood up and he wiped her tears with his palm. " I honestly do not understand why you're crying because I don't want to get married but you're too emotional Cristal". He smiled at her and that did not help her at all.

" My grandad married because he needed to give birth to an Elysian Vanguard, my father. It's our legacy".

" Then again, we are meant to give birth to boys. That just doesn't happen. What if it's a girl?" he whispered " Not that it's a bad thing. But I don't find it safe for a girl to lead, I prefer the men to protect and lead the women".

" Then your…your wife would try again?" She asked looking away and back

" Until she gets a son? I don't like that". He frowned.

" Then how would you give birth to an Elysian Vanguard if you do not get married to someone?". That was the answer she was desperate to hear.

" What if I don't get married?. I don't want to get married to a girl because I want a child and not because I love her. I'll be using her for my selfish purpose".

" What if you do fall in love Aeron?. What then, will you Marry?" Her voice ached with her words. If he said yes to this there is a ray of hope. But what if that hope isn't towards her but that lucky girl.

Aeron was scared to marry because he fears that he won't be able to live with and love his partner. But what till date he was trying to confirm was if his dad loved his mom genuinely. He needed to be sure if he was capable of loving a girl.

After a few minutes of silence and thought he responded " If I do fall in love with a girl, I will Marry her".

Cristal was washed with joy hearing this. She smiled Soo brightly holding her chest. Aeron observed her every action and he didn't want to conclude but he needed his answers.

" Why are you Soo engrossed in my love life?" Her eyes widened. She never realized how much of her emotions she had just released because of the intense conversation.

" I'm just Soo emotional". She shrugged
