Chapter 1

"Thank you all for coming here one last time before we depart."

I spoke out loud with pride as I stared at the five people in front of me.

"Saitou, Captain of Second Unit. Thank you for all of your hard work. Cleaning up our messes, calling for back up during boss raids. Thank you."

Saitou nodded as he sat down. A soft and somber applause rang out.

"Toshizou, even though your character design made it almost impossible for the other guild members to like you, you still were kind and gave extreme insight into boss fights. Thank you for being our Vice-Commander, Captain of the First Unit."

I sighed as I kept my smile.

"Izo though you did join late you put a smile on everyone's faces everyday. Your willingness to help out anyone, even though we all know you hide it you tsundere, was a sight everyone looked forward to. Thank you for being our Captain of the Third Unit"

-"HEY! Who you calling tsundere!"

Everyone chuckled as I continued

"Kojiro, thank you for staying with us since the Shinsengumi was founded. I've enjoyed your presence along with everyone else."

"Ryouma, thank you for all the work you have done as captain of the intelligence unit. You and your Npc familiar truly made everyone smile at your antics."

"Lastly, thank you all once again for being with me as we see this through to the end."

"Thank you."

The claps started once again until they stopped.

"Okita-san, we'd all like to thank you for not being the Captain we wanted but the captain we needed. Even though we might not see each other again, you'll always be our captain."

I smiled as tears threatened to spill. A game we had toiled away constantly to work our asses off to become one of the best guilds in Yggdrasil even with only six players. The rest were simply contracted as part of the guild.

"Now let us wait until the end."

I thought to myself "Truly we came this far, a guild consisting of the six best magic swordsman type players. With just us six, we managed to crawl our way as the top five guilds in Yggdrasil."

"Eh?" I stared at shock as everyone else looked around the same. The GUI was gone, and the sword in my hand felt so realistically solid. I poked and pinched myself a few times and the pain was real. "Um guys? What's going on?" The others started poking and pinching themselves until they all came to the same conclusion as me.

"This is reality now isn't it?"

All of them nodded as they all agreed on the conclusion, particularly because one of the Npc's came up to us and offered beverages.

I sat down on the table once again. "So we are stuck as our in-game avatars in a different reality."

"Remaining calm is good."

Everyone nodded and started breathing. "If this is the same as Yggdrasil then we shouldn't have much of a problem with surviving. Everyone will be retaking up their mantles and Coat of Oaths and the first thing to check is skills and magic."

Everyone agreed until Kojiro lifted his hand up "Okita-san shouldn't we ascertain were we are right now?"

"It might not be guaranteed that we are still in Yggdrasil."

I nodded before waving over one of the troop Npc's. "Go scout outside out base before reporting back any changes."

Everyone soon went to check their own skills before I let out the breathe I was holding in. A glance at a nearby mirror told me that this was now my new face and reality. At least I wasn't as unlucky as Toshizou, he was going to have a rough time with the inhabitants of this world if there were any.

Pale gold eyes reflected back as I felt the small ribbon holding my hair in a tiny pony tail, the ahoge seemed to refuse to fall down as I constantly smeared it across. A small tug and a bit of pain followed as the ahoge was yanked off. The wheat coloured hair stared at me before it disappeared and reappeared on my head.

"This little... *sigh*"

It was better to just give up and accept the circumstances. My skills worked perfectly fine, so did my sword sense. A sword sense was something given to every swordsman type player. It was a type of guide for swordsman as they had to rely on pure skill and less magic whereas magic casters simply had to chant spells.

Swordsman type players hence where given swords sense. Eventually sword sense was not needed to use a sword properly and the movements were as natural as breathing. My sword techniques worked fine as well and worked like usual and magic seemed to function fine.

It seemed like the world did operated under the same rules.

My eyes drew closer to the flag that was planted behind the Captain seat, the [Flag of Sincerity] A flag that would allow continued healing and higher endurance along with guild member summons so long as they were within range. A flag meant to guide the Shinsengumi.

I stared at the coat before equipping the Coat of Oaths. They were legendary items that lifted every stat higher for the Shinsengumi. Defence and elemental resistance were only parts of it. Then combined with the magic resistance from my passive [Magic Resistance] [A] Anything Tier 7 and below would not be able to harm him.

Though their clothing equipment was not divine class. The reason they made it that far was the Divine Class Swords they all had.

I myself had two, Kiyomitsu and Norimune. Two Divine Class Katanas. The rest had their own respective blades from questing and naming to create them.

The scout soon came back with a map drawn and important news.

"Okita-sama we seem to have been moved, we are no longer in the woods. Instead we are in open land with a lake nearby. Our other scouts have confirmed that there are cities and and empires surrounding us."

I nodded. We didn't have any magic that was utility but it would be fine. As long as we had each other's backs, there was no stopping the Shinsengumi when we moved.
