17. A River God

The year 1817.

Eleanor and the two men who were bothering her turned to Simon.

"Simon?"

The two thugs looked at Simon with an underestimate. They didn't know that the man they would face was a savage monster.

"See, a hero comes and claims the woman as his!" said the man wearing the vest.

"You're right, mate. I've never seen him before, his clothes look ridiculous. Maybe we should teach him a little lesson, so he knows who we are."

Simon wore tight trousers below the knees and a tight top that exposed part of his stomach. Where else could Simon have found such clothing if not steal. During this time, he did not have clothes like an ordinary human.

"Right, he doesn't know that even nobles are afraid of us sometimes."

Simon was already standing in front of them, staring one by one. He knew that the two men had drunk cheap alcohol.

"Simon," Eleanor repeated Simon's name.

She was worried that there would be a fight between them. Although the bodies of the two thugs were still far inferior to Simon's, they were under the influence of alcohol and probably out of control.

Simon saw the worried look on Eleanor's face. All he had to do was suppress his anger. Otherwise, Eleanor or everyone else in the market would know he was a werewolf.

"Don't bother her. Go!" said Simon.

The two thugs laughed out loud at Simon's orders. They thought that the man in front of them was a coward.

"Hey, who are you to give me orders? I'm not leaving without bringing this cute woman," said one of them with a chuckle.

"I told you. She's mine. I don't like it when someone interrupts and takes what's mine." Simon still looked calm, though the muscles in his neck were starting to turn red.

Eleanor considers Simon's words to keep them from bothering her.

"You'd better go and don't disturb our fun!" The man wearing the vest pushed Simon's chest.

However, Simon didn't move from where he was standing, irritated the man in the vest, and pushed harder, but his efforts were in vain. Simon didn't waver at all. In annoyance, the man clenched his fists and hit Simon's chest.

Simon didn't seem to feel the slightest pain. He was able to dodge the second hit that landed on his body. With ten of his powers, the thug who hit his chest flew backward and fell to the ground.

One of his friends helped by giving a punch to Simon's face but was repelled before landing on Simon's face.

The two bullies began to realize that Simon was not a weak man. They looked at each other and then began to attack Simon together until the fight between the three men caught the attention of the people there.

It didn't take long for Simon to sort them out. He had ten powers greater than an ordinary human. The two men who were bothering Eleanor lay on the ground with ease. Just as Simon was about to deliver the final blow to one of them, Eleanor immediately stopped Simon.

"Simon, that's enough! You can kill him." Eleanor grabbed Simon's arm.

Simon immediately turned to Eleonor. He had almost forgotten a girl there had been bothering him for the past few days.

"Let them. We have to go. People are looking at us," said Eleonor.

Simon's emotions vanished when he saw the two begging eyes. He realized he had become the center of attention of many people there. Simon lowered his hand and took Eleanor's hand, and led the girl away.

After they walked stay away from the market, Eleanor stopped in her tracks. She looked exhausted because she had to keep pace with Simon's immediate steps.

"Simon, I'm tired. You're walking too fast." Eleanor looked breathless.

Simon scratched his non-itchy head, letting Elanor rest for a while. Eleanor tapped on her embroidered slipper that was in the mud. Simon felt sorry for not realizing that Eleanor was a girl who should be treated gently.

"Sorry," said Simon. One word he hadn't spoken for hundreds of years.

"It's okay, and I know you mean well. Thank you, Simon, you helped me again," Elanor said with a smile.

Again Simon was stunned by the woman, her smile made Simon's whole heart warm, and his heart beat fast.

"I'll rent a horse-drawn carriage to go home. Oh yeah, where's your house?" asked Eleanor.

"House?"

"Hmm, where do you live?"

Simon is confused because he doesn't have a place to live, like a house.

"I'll cook and bring food to your house as a thank you," continued Eleanor.

"My house . . . It's near the Oak River," Simon answered. Of course, he was lying, and after this, he had something to do.

Elanor's brows furrowed together. "Oak River, isn't that at the edge of the woods?"

Simon nodded hesitantly.

Eleanor saw a horse carriage about to pass, and she had to get home before Lady Moreland grumbled that Eleanor was gone too long.

"All right, Simon, I'll visit you in three days. Now I have to get home before Lady Moreland realizes I'm late. Goodbye."

Eleanor stopped the horse-drawn carriage and got into it. Simon squinted at the woman's departure was getting further and further away. After that, he's leaving soon because he has to be built a house on the edge of the forest near the Oak river.

Three days later, Eleanor kept her promise to see Simon. It wasn't difficult to get there because she knew almost all the places in her village. She found a wooden house on the banks of the Oak River, and she was sure it was Simon's house.

Eleanor didn't immediately knock on the door or call for Simon, but she surveyed the surroundings to the back of the house. However, he was shocked when she saw the sight that made her freeze in place.

Simon was cleaning himself in the river, probably knowing that Eleanor was coming. And what amazed Eleanor was that the man was naked in the middle of the river.

Simon had his back on Eleanor, so he didn't notice the girl's presence. A stout body and broad shoulders, stand-out muscles made Eleanor gulp.

Simon dipped into the river water and immersed himself in the rippling water with the golden glow of the evening sun. Suddenly he came out of the water and pushed his wet hair back. His skin gleamed yellowishly. He looked like a river god.

His whole body was wet, and his whole body was covered with smooth hair. Eleanor didn't blink the slightest, especially when she saw the expanse of black hair leading in one direction.

An embarrassing thing happened to Eleanor. She was suddenly so passionate.
