"Alder Silver," Jaxon announced the next name.
Alder Silver, trained in the sword arts from a young age, reached the top level in techniques with his unawakened body. His parents and thirty others went MIA while exploring a part of unexplored land, which the Silver family won from the Lian family last year's competition.
Vanessa, his big sister, took over the role of his parents' job to oversee the western border. While his elder brother, Tristen, took over the duty as the commander of the western-guerrilla army. Alder learned his swordsmanship from his brother.
His unique feature is that he isn't so outgoing and always carries a straight sword with him, no matter where he goes. Earlier on Ace's accusation of water supply poisoning, Jaxon investigated Alder, but his strong alibi and eyewitness prevented Jaxon from taking further steps. Without any concrete evidence, he walked free.
Alder took a little bow before Jaxon and began to walk toward the new crystal ball.
"Humm..."
"This is weird. Why is there no angel wing or skull sign over his head?"
"And his heartbeat..."
Ace wondered in confusion as the signs were still floating above everyone else. On top of that, since his hearing got enhanced, he was keeping an eye on Alder from the beginning. He noticed that Alder's heartbeat didn't change with all the things going on around him.

[System]
[As I informed you before, God's Favor only works on you and people within a certain radius around you who don't hold any animosity against you and anyone blood-related to you, no matter the distance.]
[While the Wisp of Underworld drains your misfortune and bad luck and then fuses it with people with animosity toward you. They get affected whenever they enter within a 100m radius around you.]
[That Alder guy is suspicious.]
[God's Favor didn't work... Then he must be hostile toward you. But then the Wisp of Underworld should have affected him... Yet it didn't. This can mean only one thing...]
[Someone trained him to hide his hostility and killing intent to the point that he doesn't even see his targets as enemies... He is trained in the ways of assassins from a young and a master level at that...]
*****
"So, if there is no hostility...," Ace thought as his eyes went at Alder's fists, "Wisp of Underworld won't consider him my enemy..." He noticed that Alder's fists have no calluses nor cut marks for a boy who mastered the Silver family's swordsmanship.
Alder stood in front of the crystal ball and touched it.
[Woosh] A pillar of golden light emerged from the crystal ball. But it wasn't as bright as the magenta or the Silver pillars.
"Golden... Not bad," Jaxon muttered.
"Kukkk!!!!" Alder fell to his knees, coughing out blood. His skin was glowing with a yellow hue. But he didn't scream in pain.
"Even now... His heartbeat is steady," Ace thought after seeing Alder's calm expression even during the mutation.
Alder's result was displayed on the crystal.
**Super Grade
**Tracer
**Aura affinity: 10%
He stood up after taking a glance at his result.
[Other members]
Everyone was gossiping after seeing the result. The bad mood from earlier events changed in an instant.
[Tracer superpower, although it is Super Grade, it's a unique power, and the one who awakened it is treated with respect. With the help of this power, the user can detect anyone or anything within a limited range. A person who has mastered this power can even create maps of an entire dungeon or unexplored land with every single detail of treasures and dangers. But in exchange, they can not learn Aura-related skills.]
Jaxon looked toward the family members. He noticed Vanessa looking toward him with fear in her eyes.
"No... no... Why did it have to be Tracer? Mom and dad died because of this power... Alder... I have to do something. I can't let the leader take him away..."
Vanessa thought as her parent's faces flashed before her eyes. She could never forget the final conversation she had with her parents. And now, she was afraid, thinking the same fate was awaiting her little brother.
"Vanessa, take good care of him. And, don't worry... The Main family won't take him away. But make sure to help him master his powers before sending him into dungeons... I don't want the history to repeat itself..."
"And all the profit your branch will earn in the future using his powers... The Main family will take 40% share..."
Jaxon declared his decision.
Alder walked back and stood beside his big sister.
"Thank you... I will follow your orders," Vanessa said as she took a little bow. Then she grabbed Alder's hand and left the mansion in a hurry.
"We will meet again... Alder," Ace thought as he couldn't throw away the suspicions. But, he shifted his attention toward the ceremony.
At the corner, Ivan was conversing with his people, "Remember to keep him alive. You can't kill a golden goose after all... Kekeke... I will work you to the bone... Alder boy."
Ace heard the conversation and questioned himself, "Why is Ivan so confident even after his power got exposed? Is he hiding something more?"
"Iris Willford, step forward," Jaxon announced.
The Willford family doesn't share the same title as Silver because they migrated to the Silver World during the conflicts. They worked hard as a merchant family and earned Jaxon's respect and trust. So, Jaxon decided to take them in as a vassal and gave them the most important job of trading with the international countries.
Iris Willford, the youngest daughter of the Willford family, is known for her tomboy look. She spends most of her time fighting and brawling with others in the training hall. And out of countless fights she fought against teens around her age, she never lost a single battle. She holds the record of undefeated teen brawlers among the branch families.
Her unique traits are her short hair, sun burnt skin, and a large scar on her right cheek, and right eyebrow. Everyone calls her a fighting maniac. And she decided to keep the scars as a trophy for her win and the respect for her opponent.
"Good luck," Jack Willford, Iris's father, patted her back with a large grin. But Iris noticed a tint of worry behind his grin.
"Finally, my turn..."
"Don't worry. I will be back in a jiffy..."
Iris dashed toward the crystal ball like a gust of wind and touched it without a second thought or any glimpse of worry on her face. She was grinning in excitement.
"Beautiful..." Ace stuttered after seeing Iris's smiling face. He didn't even notice that his senses returned to normal.
"Oh!!! It looks like someone caught our Ace's eyes," Jaxon thought but didn't say anything and continued to watch his grandson's cold expression slowly melting. It was the first time Ace had shown any interest in girls.
[Wooosh] A pillar of Dark Red light emerged from the crystal ball, turning the sky red, just like when Ivan touched the crystal.
"Waahahahaha... Mythical Grade... Today is really the luckiest day for our Silver family... It's not over yet..."
"Show me more... Iris, concentrate... Push beyond your limits. Show me the brightest red. I believe in you. Remember, the pain is temporary... Power and glory are eternal..."
Jaxon yelled in excitement.
"Arrrggg!!!! Nooo!!!"
"I won't give in. I won't fall..."
Iris clenched her teeth in pain. Her vision went blurry. She could feel the mutation changing each of her cells individually. It was way more painful than she imagined since higher grade causes more pain than lower. She knew it but never expected to feel this level of agony. Yet, she refused to kneel in front of everyone. She was enduring it while standing.
"Damn it!!! She is losing it..." Jaxon yelled in fear.
[Crackle] Black sparks of energy were radiating from Iris's body. Her skin and veins started to tear apart. Her body failed to withstand the extreme pressure of her own power. The overflowing energy waves were creating massive pressure and shockwaves. The lower-level members grabbed onto anything sturdy they could find near them to prevent the shockwaves from sweeping them away.
"Not yet... I won't fall... Kukkk..." Blood was dripping from all over her body. But she refused to fall.
"Kukkk!!!" Jaxon wants to help her, but there is no way to stop the mutation once it starts.
"Iris!!! Hold it together... You can do it. Please don't lose..."
"My daughter is the strongest... You hear me... Don't lose in front of everyone. You must come back safely..."
Jack Willford screamed. He couldn't bear to see his precious daughter getting ripped apart. He wanted to help, but there was nothing he could do.
"Humff. Another dead Dark Red. It's sad to see such great potential dying," Ivan muttered in disappointment. He wanted to recruit her after winning the battle. His dreams of getting a Dark Red awakener almost became a reality.
"Damn it!!! Why??? She had a bright future ahead of her... Why did it happen?" Trisa closed her eyes, unable to see Iris's body getting torn apart. Jin hugged her tightly and closed his eyes.
"No... Not like this," Ace rushed toward Iris while everyone was watching the situation in daze and fear, "Activate God's Favor..." He yelled.
