" Mommy, Daddy! I love you so much." the necklace dangled around the small child with two pigtails as she ran up to hug her parents and held her into a tight embrace.

" We love you so much, dear." They said.

She was surrounded by love and happiness. She looked up at her mother and saw her beautiful face then turned her head at her father and smiled widely.

" Earth to Ko." Kagome tried to catch her attention.

" Oh, I'm sorry. I was just caught in a daydream from the good times with my parents." She said and her heart was feeling very heavy. Those were the good times and now she must be alone. She could not remember how her father looked, his face was blurred out in the daydream. He could be the reason for her hate for demons and she did not want to remember such a demon that brought her such fate but who knows for sure. She touched the necklace that dangled on her chest and admire the shaped heart." Did you say something important?"

" We want to know how good your combat skills are," Kagome answered.

" And who would put my skills to the test?" Kotori sigh.

" Me." InuYasha grin and pulled out his sword but it did not transform. He wanted to fight the half-breed but she's not a real threat and she's more human than a demon. He wanted to know what type of demon she was because he could not figure it out with his nose.

" You should not depend on a sword but I am ready when you are," Kotori said and stood there in front of the half-demon. It's only fitting since that want he wants to become. She looked at him and observed his posture. She tucked her necklace in her kimono and prepare herself.

InuYasha wanted to take this opportunity to beat the weak half-human and take that shards. He took his strength as an advantage. He charged toward her and with each strike, he could not land an attack on her let alone one injury.

Kotori was tired of trying to prove herself to these people but it was for a good price. She was able to keep up with the half-demon move and was much faster to dodge whatever was coming toward her. She could not touch the half-demon as much as she wanted to.

InuYasha almost had her but slice and two inches of a couple strains of her hair. Kotori's fist was against his chest but she stopped herself.

They were equal...

" Do I have to continue or am I done?" She asks and waves her hand to the others.

They told her to come back.

" It was fun, InuYasha," Kotori said and was about to walk past him before being stopped.

" What type are you?" He questioned.

" Not telling! It's a secret--Maybe one day if you beat me I'll tell you and give you the jewel shards." She winked and jokingly said. She could not tell him because she did not even know herself. The necklace suppresses the demon in her and makes her more human.

" One day, I will beat you and become a full-fledged demon." InuYasha declared.

" Yeah, yeah." Kotori waved her hand and headed toward the group.

" I did not know you were actually strong." Kagome complimented even though it felt like an insult.

" Maybe with her in this group, we do have a chance in defeating Naraku," Miroku said.

" I agree," Shippo added.

" You haven't seen anything, yet." Kotori laughed.

" We should practice together sometime and I even teach you some of my moves." Sango offered.

" Anytime..." She accepted.

"If you ever want to learn the bow and arrow, it shouldn't be too hard," Kagame said.

Kotori smiled and nodded.

These people are very resourceful and helpful
