Surebu Village

"Allow me to help you with that!" Kotori climbed on the chair and dusted the filth.

"Oh my! Aren't a lovely lady, thank you for helping an old hag such as myself." The woman chuckled and prepared warm tea in a black kettle. She sat down on the mat and causally drank the tea from the small cup." Child, why don't you come and take a break."

She stepped down and found a space on the floor covered in dirt with a mat underneath her bottom. She sipped from the cup and her tastebuds danced in her mouth. Its fragrance was very strong and there was a hint of sweetness. There were a few roses peddles that floated." Ma'am, this is amazing! I never had anything like this before."

"I am very grateful for your help and this is the least that I can. There aren't many youngsters around that are full of energy and the ones that are beautiful like you, are married with many children. Is there a young lad you interested in?"

" Mhm… I don't think so." She answered with instantly a image of him popped in her head again." We're just friends and he's already a two timer."

The older woman took another slip of her tea." Those are the worst! The type of man that is unable to make up their mind. Haha! But you know, what they say, third time the charms."

"Nobody says that, ma'am." Kotori laughed, softly and this feeling made her question if this is what it feels like to have a grandmother. She wondered about her own family.

' Do I have any relatives still alive?' She asked oneself.

" Grandma! Grandma!" four little children ran through the entrance and the curtain flew up. They notice a unfamiliar face and their was a sparkle in the kids eyes at they looked at Kotori. "So pretty."

" Why at you here?" the little boy questioned.

" To help families like yours." Kotori says cheerfully, as she kneel down to the boy's heights.

"That's not what big brother means." A young child interrupted.

" Well, why don't you tell me what he means then." She suggested and found the children's reaction adorable.

" Please say my grandchildren no attention, they are just noisy." The older woman said and shooed them away." Go on and play."

The kids ran outside and played with the other children.

"Where are your friends? They are probably worried about you." The woman asked as she unfolded the ingredients from the leave of herbs, vegetables, and certain salted meats." But it would be nice if you could stay for supper."

" My friend, the monk was invited by the headmaster to exterminate or exorcist a demon. The others are people walking around the village helping weak and shopping at the local stands looking at various merchandise—I think it would be fine to stay a little bit longer."

She offered her assistance, and everyone took a bath together, pouring buckets of warm water over their heads. After a several minutes, the children were in their pajamas. She ate stew with the family, her heart grew attached to them. It felt like home.

" I can't believe that they are fast asleep." Kotori picked up the empty bowels and washed them outside in a barrel that was filled with cold water as she scrubbed the silverware with an old cloth. She looked up and there fifteen young woman walking in a line with a rope tied to their hands. Her eyes widen and was puzzled by such an inhume treatment, a man used a whip and hit them to move faster.

" You should be careful about these parts." The old woman walked out the hut with her hands behind her. "Most of the woman are sold at a tender age to profit the village.

" Hey, stop it!" Kotori yelled, her heart ached terribly for the woman that are the same age as her, if not a few years younger. She reached for her pouched and remembered that Sango took her sword to get it sharped, since the blade had become dull.

She wields the stick and points it directly at the man. She aimed to seriously hurt them and destroy the carriage. However, nothing came out. She was filled with anger and rage. The training with lady Kikyo did not teach her anything and she hopeless." I promise that I will save you, I will be right back!"

[ Temple]

"Thank you for your services young people, I wish that I could offer more for your entertainment but our woman are limited. As you know, Surebu is a slave village where the woman are sold to the ones with higher powers in exchange for good-quality resources. Please enjoy the food and sake that my daughters prepare!" The headmaster slides the door opened and his guards followed behind him.

The constant sound of two of scraping, as the demon slayer sharped the blade against a fine-grade rock that was purchased with a half of pound of gold coins.

" How horrible!" Kagome gasped.

" There's no point of complaining about it." InuYasha indulged in the meal, presented in front of him." It happens everywhere and there's nothing we can do about it!"

" Well… he does have a point." Miroku sighs, and thought to himself 'what a buzzed kill'

"Guys, do you think Ko is okay? I mean, wouldn't man come after someone pretty like her." Shippo said, worriedly.

" She can handle her own!" InuYasha spoke.

" Do not forget Mistress Kotori is a half demon like Master InuYasha! I do think the princess is exceptionally, beautiful and any man would be lucky to have her as their pet." Said myoga, the flea. His tiny body was standing on the table next to the bowl of rice.

" Where in the hell did you come from? It's like you always running when the timing gets tough!" InuYasha pointed out.

Suddenly, the door slides open aggressively. Kotori breath heavily and had difficulty speaking. She inhales on more time," E-everyone! I need help. There are man talking young woman, stealing them away from their families."

" I told you that she would be fine." InuYasha put down his empty bowl and continued to eat the cooked meat, stuffing his mouth.

" It's out of ours hands, Ko." Kagome answered, softly and it pained her.

The fox demon tried to changed the topic of the conversation," Hey, Ko. Why don't you come and sit down with us? The food here is delicious!" He exclaimed.

"Why is going on? Have you people lost your mind?" She questioned.

" It's not our problem, okay." InuYasha spoke.

"How could you say that?"She walked towards the half-demon and knocked the food out of his hand. She thought if nobody understood her, he would." How are you able to eat? Do you know what they do to slaves just to profit the village. They are beat and tortured to death."

" So what? Even if you manage to save one person, it happens every day just in a different place. You can't be at all those places at once."

Kotori picked her sword, as her eyes turned scarlet red, and her eyebrows flared up" I will kill them all."

"Don't you want to obtain the shard to become a full human?" InuYasha spoke loud enough, only for the two of them to hear.

" Would killing humans be the options? Solving violence with violence is creating chaos. Sango asked.

Kotori ran out of the temple.

" Guys, should we chase after her?" Shippo spoke.

The horses and carriages were gone. She fell down on her knee in distressed and dropped her sword." Why?—Why am I so useless?" She punched the ground until her knuckled bleed. The anger clouded her judgement, the society here is messed up. She remembered the kind memories of meeting humans in the past and how desperately she yearns to become on. Tears slowly stream down her cheeks," I am too weak right now!"

The others stood behind her and watched her.

InuYasha marched towards her and grabbed her wrist, he saw her crying face and couldn't stand seeing the sight of a woman tears." If it's such a problem, get stronger!"

' Ah, I see it now!' She thought to herself as he helped her back on her feet. She used her sleeve to wipe the tears and snot from her face.

" You are a crybaby like Shippo." He laughted, proudly.

The fox demon got offended, and hit his small paws at InuYasha attacking his face." Hey, I AM NOT A CRYBABY!"
