Camellia turned to take in the room with its cream-colored curtains, delicate lace, and bright furniture. This wasn't the princess's chambers, but it also wasn't a mere guest bedroom.

"What is this place?"

"Your room."

"My room?"

"Yes. I ordered it to be furnished and decorated for you. You may stay here any time you want. It's all yours."

Lia couldn't believe what she'd just heard. Rosina eagerly nodded to an attendant, who immediately moved past the two ladies to the three wardrobes by the wall. He opened them one by one, revealing everything from comfortable loungewear to lavish gowns—there wasn't a single men's outfit.

"This is too much," Lia finally managed to say. "I cannot accept this, Your Highness."

Rosina merely grinned as she selected a gown that was the same color as Lia's eyes. "Consider it a late birthday present, then."

"You know I don't have a birthday."
