Business partner

Drake smirked as soon as he caught a glimpse of her. A couple of hours passed but he could still remember how she responded to his passionate kisses.

He won't deny the fact that it was still great. Kissing someone has never been an issue for him. Even the woman who effortlessly shattered his heart into pieces.

"Are you blind or an idiot? Can't you see that I am walking–"

Mirena's eyes widened the moment she heard a peal of familiar laughter.

Drake never planned to see her again. He just came to meet a very special business partner which brought him luck.

He then rubbed the back of his head and looked at her. "It's my pleasure to see you again, Mirena Miller." He replied and it surprised her to death.

Mirena couldn't believe that they would see each other again. The city was too enormous for two strangers.

For a few seconds, she held back her breath. She was thinking about what and where to start after what happened last night.

Everything was stuck in her head as it happened by now. Mirena blinked her eyes and cursed at the thin air. She never knew that he existed under the same sky and ground.

"What... What are you doing here? Why are you here?" she asked and stuttered.

"I have an urgent business meeting with someone. How about you?"

Drake glanced at her as he slid his hands into his pocket. He looked great because of his fashion style. For him, a plain white sleeve and black trousers seemed perfect. He then paired it with shiny, black shoes and sunglasses.

His looks were quite similar to the fictional character who never existed. Drake was tall, with fair white skin, and handsome. But the body part that women wanted to touch was his thin, crimson lips.

It was made faultlessly that always captured every woman's heart. To add someone to the list, Mirena wrote her name.

For the second time around, Mirena was hypnotized by his appearance. She never met someone who looked too good with or without sunglasses. She couldn't ask for more if she was an ordinary woman.

Her eyes were stuck on his lips. She didn't know what was going on with her.

"What's wrong? You looked stunned."

She sighed and slightly tilted her head. "I'm sorry. I... I just can't forget what happened last night."

"I even doubted that you were the culprit–"

"You don't have to say sorry for that. It's something we didn't expect, am I right?" Drake replied and pretended to be innocent.

He won't stop pretending until he took away everything that mattered to her. Nothing would suffice the pain he felt at that moment. Mirena did something wrong. For Drake, revenge is the only best way to get even.

A wide smile showed on his lips. The longer he stayed with her, the more eager he wanted to bring her down to the ground. He might forget to keep in mind the reason why he came into Miller's territory.

Drake looked into his wristwatch. It was time to go as he didn't want to be late. It was an important meeting for him and he shouldn't make such a bad impression.

"I'm sorry, but I have to go. See you around then." Drake told her and acted that he was in a hurry too.

As soon as he turned his back, a mischievous smile showed on his face. His eyes were covered with intense emotions as everything he planned slowly happened.

It was merely an impossible thing to meet Mirena's father. He never thought this day would come without anyone suspecting his real intentions.

Drake didn't want to punish her father, but a naughty idea flashed into his head. It would be painful for her when the revelation took place in the future.

Trace Babbitt, Drake's assistant and childhood friend whispered from behind.

"Damn, she's too gorgeous! I regret not going with you last night. I should have tasted those soft, red lips!"

Drake rubbed his nape and stopped walking. He wanted to know if Trace accompanied him today as soon as he heard about Mirena Miller's beauty.

He sighed and glared at him, "I thought you have an urgent meeting to deal with. Why are you here with me right now?"

His eyes glinted and Trace knew what it means. He should stop fooling around if he didn't want Drake to get mad.

Trace quickly lofted his arms and surrendered. It seemed like it wasn't the perfect time to talk about Mirena's exceptional beauty.

"Stop frowning! You look like an old man if you do that all the time," Trace fixed his suit and winked at him. "Why don't you smile widely like me? It will help you to be handsome and cool like me."

Drake didn't know what to do with him. Sometimes he got confused about whether he was a friend who help him over things or a comedian who commonly make people laugh.

He didn't want to start chaos. It was an important matter and he should be in his office before the scheduled time.

"Let's go! He must be waiting for me," spoke Drake in a serious tone.

It was not the right time for fun. He should earn his business partner's trust before he could stab him from behind.

This time, Drake won't stop until he got everything he needed. The pain within his heart won't disappear as long as he couldn't grasp the revenge he wanted.

It won't happen if Mirena didn't start the fight with him.

Drake didn't want to waste even a single second for nothing. He then led the way towards the room where the meeting would be held at.

Every employee turned their head and wondered about his name. They were quite hypnotized by his alluring charm and perfect face.

Like he used to do, Drake ignored them and saw the room from a distance. He smirked and took a deep breath before entering.

However, as soon as he stepped inside. He saw a woman's back which caused his heart to stop beating. He was about to go back outside when someone noticed him.

"Oh, you're here! Why don't you take a seat with my lovely daughter?"

Drake chuckled and turned around. He tilted his head, "I thought you have an important conversation with her–"

"She's my daughter and you arrive in time, Mr. Quinn." Mr. Miller replied.

Mirena narrowed her eyes for the nth time. She couldn't find any words to describe how the hell his father and Drake met before.

Her head was filled with hundreds of questions but no words came out of her mouth. She was simply speechless at how fate made its way.

"I guess you're the man father is talking about," she murmured and shrugged off her shoulders.

"It seems like I don't have another choice. Father picked you to be my business partner." Mirena added and took her purse from the couch before she left.
