Chapter 28: This Kid Is Too Honest

"Isn't it because my mom scared me?"

Looks like the plan to have the handsome guy blow-dry my hair is going down the drain.

As I was speaking, Jennifer Von had already entered the courtyard, and she exclaimed upon seeing the two people in the living room, "Oh, Julius is here too?"

"Mrs. Von."

Julius Goodman released Ava Kent's arm and greeted politely, just about to explain when Ava seized the opportunity to speak first, "There was a bit of an electrical issue at home after the thunder, so I asked him over to help with the repairs."

Julius Goodman wore a look of confusion, not understanding why she lied.

Ava Kent felt awkward too, mainly because she didn't want Jennifer Von to know she was not home so late.

Jennifer either trusted Ava too much or trusted Julius too much, without suspecting there was any issue with this explanation, "I see. It's probably because of aging lines and years of disrepair. It's such a bother to have Julius come over so late."
