Buying Spells

"Master Yontu, you honored our shop." An elderly man said with a deep bow.

"Hmm." Yontu nodded slightly as he looked around. The shop's name was, "The Flowing Compass." Most of the high-quality cultivation arts and techniques could be found there. Of course, arts and techniques that could be purchased on the market wouldn't be too good. But Ezio had no spell so far, so he had to buy something.

"What can I get you, Master Yontu?" The elderly man asked with a big smile on his face. He wanted to fawn on the old master in front of him as he heard the stories.

"I am just looking," Yontu said with a slight smile. "Do you have anything high level?"

"Emm…" The man looked left and right as he approached a little. "Master Yontu, can we speak in private?"

"Lead the way," Yontu said in curiosity. He wondered what this man would tell him. After leading him to a private room at the back of the shop, the man prepared tea with his own hands and served the old master. Yontu took a sip and waited for Doc to give it okay. After making sure the tea was not tempered with, he drank a mouthful. "Good tea."

"Thank you, Master Yontu." The man said bashfully.

"Tell me. What do you want to talk about?" He asked as he saw the man was still beating around the bush.

"Master Yontu, after its destruction, I went to the Poseidon's Kiss sect to see if I could find any manual, technique, or art to sell. But the Knights told me everything was taken away." The man said after stuttering for a while.

"Yes, I took everything." Yontu nodded.

"I was wondering if you are willing to sell the core art? A high-level manual of a sect can fetch a good price." The old man said with greed beaming out of his eyes.

"I have other plans for the sect manuals," Yontu said tersely.

"I see, I see, Master Yontu." The old man said with a smile but it was easy to see his disappointment, though he wasn't willing to offend the man sitting across from him.

"Bring me all the high-level techniques you have," Yontu said. The man bowed and left. Only returned five minutes later with a Spatial Ring. He pulled out 21 manuals from the ring and he put them on the table.

"These are everything we have, Master Yontu. Normally we don't sell these and save them to special buyers, but you are an exception." The old man servilely said.

Yontu took the first manual and looked at the title. "Bear Fist"

He skimmed through the technique and had to give it to the old man, it was a high-quality technique. Although it wasn't as good as the top-class techniques Cleansing Buddhist Sect had, it was close and this was only one of them.

"Moon Sword Circle"

"Sun Piercing Spear"

"Tiger Dash"

One by one, Yontu looked at the manuals and assessed them. As his cultivation level increased, the more of the jade slip he was able to unlock. So after his latest breakthrough, he opened another section of The Azure Wolf King's Eternal Fang. The techniques in that manual were better than anything he had seen so far. So although he used to think it was Heaven Grade Art, he now realized he was wrong.

He asked his master and learned there were grades above Heaven Grade but they were so rare. Even in the sect he was born in, didn't have higher than one Transcending Grade Art. After Heaven Grade came Astral Grade and after that came Transcending Grade. Ezio wasn't sure if there was a level above it, but there probably was. After all, the sect Aodhfionn came from was a Kingdom Tier III powerhouse. According to him, there were powers above that level. So far he only knew five tiers. Human, Earth, Heaven, Astral and Transcending.

The top art of the Cleansing Buddhist Sect was Earth Grade Peak. The one he took from Poseidon's Kiss was also Earth Grade and a tad worse than the first. The manuals he was looking at were usually Human Grade and only some were in Earth Grade. Which was still quite amazing considering this Kingdom was backward. So far, the highest grade manual he had seen other than The Azure Wolf King's Eternal Fang was the disguise technique his master had given him.

After looking at almost all of them, Yontu thought it was hopeless. Just as he was about to leave he saw the title of two manuals. The last two manuals made his hand shake with excitement.

"Gentleman's Ideology"

"Gentleman's Philosophy"

'Can it be a coincidence?' Ezio asked in disbelief. Two Signiums he awakened were also related to Gentleman and now he found manuals under the same name. How crazy was that?

"Are these arts?" Yontu asked as he pointed at the two manuals. After skimming through them, he realized they weren't normal manuals. They weren't explaining techniques like the normal art manuals did.

"To be honest, I don't know Master. It is just that an old man sold them to me once and said they were a treasure. I don't know what came to me but I purchased them for a high price at the time and so far, have failed to sell." The man said with a sad expression.

"Tell me the truth," Yontu said with a bit of killing intent. The man shivered in his boots as he groveled into the ground.

"We found them on a disciple who left the domain years ago. I swear we didn't kill him, but we have agreements with the Knights. They let us go to the crime scenes, and we take the manuals for a certain amount of bribe." The old man said while still prostrating.

"Hmm," Yontu said with a nod and pointed at the table. "I will take all of them, give me a total price. And bring all the occupation manuals."

"Master, since I lied to you previously, let all of them be my gift." The old man said with dread.

"Tell me the price!" Yontu said with a bit of anger in his voice.

"Thank you for your generosity, Master Yontu. Thank you!" The man bowed over and over again. Yontu put all the manuals in the Mysterious Room and gave Gentleman's Ideology to Manny. The old man went to bring tens of occupation manuals, then he left the shop.

"Is that name gonna stick?" Manny asked.

"Well of course. Don't you like the nickname Anon gave you?" Ezio smirked as he answered.

"Whatever." Manny snorted as he stopped talking. When Ezio looked at the two manuals, he realized that although they weren't regular manuals that taught techniques, between words of ideologies and philosophies there were hidden things. If Manny could crack them, he might be able to learn a few spells.
