Not knowing Penelope thought she was just hearing voices in her head, the man decided to repeat himself thinking she didn't hear him, Penelope was putting on her hard hat as he spoke...
"Are you ok Miss?"
Penelope jumped out of her skin, dropping her hard hat, she suddenly lost her footing and fell onto the floor, her now unprotected hands scraping the rocky sharp surface as she landed.
"Oww" Penelope hissed as she looked at her stinging hands, which started to bleed.
The man, almost in a trance, stared at Penelope sitting on the ground, she was still looking at her hands. He watched her, or better said, analysed her. He was watching her hair as it blew gently in the wind, her shoulders as they shifted with her arms and injured hands, her chest as she was breathing in pain, her legs that were now splayed on the floor, then back up to her eyes, that suddenly flicked up to him, causing him to take a step back.
'Wow, her eyes...' he thought to himself as he stared deeply into them, not realising he was doing so, Penelope then spoke...
"Well you could least say sorry" Penelope growled, not able to see him clearly due to her eyes being filled with unshed tears.
She then stood up, blowing on her hands to try to stop the stinging. Before the man snapped out of his trance, Penelope already got bandages out of her large backpack on the floor, she started to apply them as she hissed, but then he spoke again....
"Oh my... I am so sorry I didn't mean to startle you"
Penelope, saying nothing, trying (and succeeding) to not cry, she finished applying the bandages. She put the spare bandage material back in her bag, wiping her eyes, she then addressed the man.
"Well you did startle me", avoiding looking at his face.
Quietly, the man analysed her again, but this time in a worried expression, he would not be able to forgive himself if he accidently harmed this beautiful woman. Penelope, looking out to the high-up view, could feel his gaze on her, she started to feel very uncomfortable.
"I... um..." he didn't know what else to say, so he just said in a rather nervous voice...
"I'm Arthur".
Penelope noticed the waver in his voice, and slightly moved her head in his direction, in automatic curiousity. Arthur noticed this, his eyes shining bright green as he spoke again, a bit more confidently this time.
"I am truly sorry, I didn't mean to startle you, I just thought you looked...." He stopped himself from speaking any further, afraid of angering her even more.
Penelope began to speak quietly...
"I looked like wh..." She stopped speaking.
She looked at Arthur, absolutely stunned, stunned by his enchanting green eyes. Penelope swallowed in amazement, not realising her eyes widened and was staring right into his. Arthur remained still, entranced by Penelope. He was also stunned, stunned by her bright blue eyes, but not just her eyes, her beautiful face too. He took a sharp breath in.
Penelope on the other hand, began to flush red, her eyes unintentionally scanning the rest of his body. His face was that of a beautiful being, he had jet black messy short hair, stubble, and his shoulders and arms looked strong. What made Penelope realise he looked strong, was the way he was dressed. He was wearing a suit without the tie, the white shirt unbuttoned at the top, his black jacket and trousers hugged him, but not too tightly, also sporting a pair of black leather brogues. That's when she snapped out of the trance...
"What... Why... Um" Penelope coughed, and said dryly...
"Why are you wearing a suit at the top of a hill?"
This statement caused Arthur to also snap out of his trance, he then smiled noticeably, he however stopped himself from laughing. Penelope noticed this, then was again entraced by him, but not by his eyes this time, but by his smile. Arthur spoke after a few seconds, controlling his amusement, he replied, snapping Penelope back into reality...
"It's not a suit without the tie" he smirked, not able to help himself.
Penelope was court off-guard by his amusing comment, it made her smile and let out a quite giggle. Arthur was not expecting that reaction, so he imprinted her little giggle in his brain, a connection already forming, his eyes glimmering as he continued to watched her...
