CHAPTER 6: BILLY AND THE PRIEST

It was around 10o'clock that same Saturday morning, Steven, and chief Ezra drove far from the dark hole before they could arrive at the city's temple. As they drove, they saw the disorder in the city. Some fought and looted for no reason, while some locked themselves indoors waiting for a miracle. The blast from the opening of the dark hole made numerous cracks on the roads and buildings, the city was literally falling apart. In the rumbled and chaotic free driving road was a problem, chief Ezra noticed this would waste their time, so he opened a portal that lead to the city's temple, and they drove through it. Steven found a place they could park close to the temple, then him and chief Ezra got out of the truck. Steven then cast a spell that created a repulsive force field around the old red truck to keep thugs and hoodlums away, considering the fact that there's no more order in the city. Next, they walked towards the giant doors of the temple.

Chief Ezra: "wait." Chief Ezra said this as Steven was about to knock the door.

Chief Ezra: "let's go through the back."

The city's temple is owned by a man name Balogun popularly known as The Priest. The priest is a very religious and good man that believes in violence, and he loves helping people, the priest is also a level 2 sorcerer and a mixed martial artist. There was a time when he had nothing and wished he had a lot, so he could help many, but not until Lord Bruce Belmont intervene in his life was he truly able to live his dream. Since that day, he respected anyone related to Bruce Belmont and Lord Bruce Belmont himself. The temple had cameras in place strategically, so the priest saw his unexpected guest as they walked to the back of the temple. The priest noticed chief Ezra Kazim and Steven Belmont, so he quickly rushed to welcome them at the entrance. After they chatted a bit, three of them walked to the priest office, using a back passage and avoiding a multitude in the temple the priest had told them about. The temple was a place of refuge for some wounded and homeless people, given the situation in the city. The priest has a good heart for humans from any tribe, so he accommodates a lot.

"It's a good thing we did not use the front doors" Steven said to chief Ezra as they walked to the office.

The priest: "so what brings you two to the temple because seeing a Belmont means good news but you, I sense trouble"

Chief Ezra: "where is the butcher?"

Billy the butcher is a vigorous blacksmith that creates battle-axes for pleasure. Billy is half vampire and half human and has lived most of his days killing for no just course. Billy and Balogun were both orphans raised together, and they got terribly maltreated by their masters. Billy and Balogun got separated when they were both sixteen years old. Billy was bought by human traffickers, and he later escaped after months of terror. He unknowingly broke free from his captivity one night and killed everyone at the premises, then he ran as far as his legs could get him. Billy hated humans for all what he had faced, while on the other hand, Balogun loved humans because of the help he got from Bruce Belmont. Billy single-handedly and tirelessly trained himself to become a fearless killer, he had a master one certain time that helped trained him on how to fight better, but Billy killed him after he had learned everything he needed.

The priest: "Billy is down the basement in the cold-room, and he wants to avoid being disturbed"

Chief Ezra: "he still hates the sun."

The priest: "is that a question? Of course, he does. He is a f×cking vampire"

Chief Ezra: "How long has he been down there?"

The priest: "since the liberation wars, he comes out only at night at least once in months"

Steven Belmont: "since the liberation wars? That's about twenty-one years ago"

Chief Ezra: "what kind of brother are you?"

The priest: "Billy has decided to stay away from people and the world itself until he can forget all the terror he has been through, he seeks the presence of no one but I and I respect that"

Chief Ezra: "I do not have time for all these you are telling me, I need to see Billy right away. We have bigger teething troubles than detention and quarantine"

Billy: "and what are these troubles of yours, Mr. Ezra Kazim?"

Billy said this as he walked into the office. Billy wanted his space, but he always loved the action. Chief Ezra explain every disaster that had happened and what might still happen.

Chief Ezra: "I need you to create weapons for me Billy,"

Billy: "what kind?"

Chief Ezra reached for the small bag he was with and made is big as it was before he magically shrank it. He brought out a piece of skin and some vital organs of the creature that was beheaded back at the fortress and place them in front of Billy.

Billy: "I know this creature, I think I have seen this before"

Chief Ezra was surprised to hear Billy say this, so he asked.

"Are you sure of what you're saying?"

The priest: "Billy has killed many things in this world, I am not surprised"

Steven: "can you remember where you saw this creature?"

Billy: "that does not matter for now, if a creature like this has made its way to this world then we need to act fast. It is only a matter of time before we face hell itself."

They all quickly picked up everything that they needed and rushed downstairs to the basement where Billy works. The priest, chief Ezra and Steven helped Billy with the arrangement of some things, so he could get to work.

Billy: "It should take three to four hours to make a tool for you, but this is different. I do not know how long this will take"

Chief Ezra: "get to work then"

Billy the butcher got to work while Steven used his magic to help him as much as he could. The priest and Chief Ezra stood as they watched. The plan was to create many weapons, but they needed to create one first to be sure of what the weapon can do. Suddenly Balogun noticed something strange about the big brown bag that was kept at the corner, so he asked Chief Ezra?

"Is that not the bag you brought?"

They all turned and looked at the bag as it glowed.

Steven: "chief, what's that? Why is your bag glowing?"

At first, Chief Ezra could not figure out the reason for this occurrence, then he walked towards the bag slowly and looked inside. It was a box an old lady gave him on his trip to Galatua that was shining so bright. He then put his hand inside his bag and brought out the box and showed everyone saying.

"Few days ago when I travelled to Galatua I came across an old lady on my way back, right before I stepped into the train she placed this box in my robe and said "Take this, it will save you all"

The priest: "what is that supposed to mean?"

Chief Ezra: "I think were about to find out"

The luminosity from the box increased, and it became hot, so Chief Ezra had to drop it, they all stood and watched the glimmering box for minutes waiting for something to happen but nothing happened. The priest got a phone call, so he stepped out to take the call. The box suddenly stopped glowing like it never did and Billy the butcher said to Steven and Chief Ezra.

"From the markings on the box one can tell it is an ancient relic, and we all know what that means. I feel the glimmering from the box was a warning."

Steven: "a warning? Like the good kind or the bad kind?"

Chief Ezra: "an old lady gave it to me saying it will save us all, something bad has definitely happened. We need to hurry with this."

Billy the butcher: "what old lady, by the way?"

Steven: "I think it will be wise if I call my brother"

The priest then ran into the basement and said panicky. "Chief Ezra, you must see this" Chief Ezra told Billy and Steven to stick to what they were doing as he quickly followed the priest out of the basement. They both went upstairs back to the office and Balogun showed Chief Ezra the news on TV. Chief Ezra was stunned as he stood still in trauma. Meanwhile, Steven repeatedly called jade's number, but he got no answer. This made Steven anxious and worried. And at this moment Billy was almost done with his blacksmithing.
