When Kallie discovers the oldest book of Cursed Blood, she unknowingly summons a vampire to the human world.



She learns that nonhumans have been present in the human world since the end of WWII, marking all that is left to be slain with the preparations to wipe out the entire human race and leaving the world as a new home for nonhumans.



And the "real" reason for her existence was revealed after she was taken to the Bloodstone—the realm of nonhumans—where she finds herself to be different from what she imagined.
