Chapter 139.1 : Noble Phantasm?

In the Golden List live broadcast room, the screen transitioned to a rocky mountain jungle where cliffs and boulders dominated the landscape.

Tsunade's figure dangled in mid-air, descending towards the ground before getting lodged in a soft, white, sponge-like substance, only to be swiftly rebounded once again.

Immediately, a slug named Katsuyu emerged from the "white sponge" and approached Tsunade, waving its tentacles. "Tsunade-sama, welcome to the Shikkotsu Forest."

"I didn't anticipate arriving in this manner," Tsunade said with a friendly smile.

Sage Katsuyu possessed a gentle temperament, and despite its immense size, it never assumed an air of Senjutsu. However, this didn't imply a lack of distinct character on its part.

"It used to be forbidden for anyone to enter. No one could master Senjutsu from the Shikkotsu Forest, and my body was in a deep slumber. I felt uneasy bothering others," Katsuyu explained softly. "But now, the Golden List has awakened me, so there's no issue."

Due to its colossal size, occupying a significant portion of the Shikkotsu Forest, Katsuyu refrained from moving around to prevent earthquakes and landslides from damaging the environment. In order to preserve the natural energy and avoid causing harm, it had remained in a deep sleep, gradually gaining strength to, one day, acquire the ability to shrink or transform.

Tsunade nodded casually and inquired, "I wonder, Katsuyu, which reward are you planning to choose?"

"Of course, the first one," Katsuyu replied, shaking its tentacles. "In nature, snakes live longer than toads, while slugs only survive a few days. However, after learning to harness natural energy from Tamamo-sama, I've changed. My lifespan now surpasses that of White Snake Sage and Gamaguchi's father, Gamatsuji."

"I prefer transforming into a perfect form and mastering an immortal cultivation technique."

"Sage Katsuyu, you should claim your reward first. I'm just here to take a look," Tsunade said with a hearty smile, though her index fingers were already embedded in her skin.

As a summoner, her reward was the unlimited resurrection of two individuals. Over the decades, countless people had come and gone in her life, each with their own stories.

Yet, for this occasion, she had already made up her mind to revive her younger brother, Senju Nawaki, and her grandmother, Uzumaki Mito.

These two, along with Hashirama, Tobirama, Sarutobi Hiruzen, Uzumaki Kushina, Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and finally, Uchiha Ran, were the most significant figures in her life. Sarutobi Hiruzen, however, had been erased from her heart.

The resurrection candidates were firmly decided upon. Yet, having been away from the village for many years, she still grappled with what expression to use when reuniting with Nawaki.

"Alright then, I'll go first!" Katsuyu, sensitive to emotions, declared.

Decades of companionship allowed Katsuyu to discern the sentiments of this "forgetting year~ honey" better than anyone else, especially compared to Tsunade.

"I choose—!"

The resounding voice of Sage Katsuyu reverberated through the forest of damp bones.

The echoes carried an inexplicable pressure.

Shortly after, the perspective on the screen in the live broadcast room started ascending. The Shikkotsu Forest scene began to shrink, revealing the clarity of Sage Katsuyu. With the divine perspective, everyone finally grasped the magnitude of this colossal being.

Tsunade stood on its back, as if she were standing on a vast playground.

Incredible!

The light of the Golden List descended, completely enveloping the immense Katsuyu. In just a few seconds, her body began to shrink at an imperceptible speed, reaching about Tsunade's size. Then, her form underwent a transformation.

As the light faded away, everyone was confronted with a sight resembling Tsunade, with six horns and a golden rectangle, but with two tentacles atop her head. Her skin, as white as jade, seemed to emit a gentle glow. Despite her unexpectedly tall stature, she exuded the delicate charm of a woman who might topple if pushed.

"Is this a human form?"

"It's incredible to be back in such a small size."

Sage Katsuyu emitted a nasal, surprised sound, jumping cheerfully in place—quite contrary to the demeanor expected of a Sage.

Inside the Ryūchi Cave, Uchiha Ran observed White Snake Sage's envious expression upon witnessing the scene. Curiosity prompted her to ask, "You desire to transform into a human so much? Can't the transformation technique achieve a similar outcome?"

White Snake Sage caressed her body and replied obediently, "Lord Ran, I do wish to transform into a human, but I envy Katsuyu's smaller form even more."

"Smaller? Can't you control the size of your body at will?"

"Lord Ran, I can become smaller by relying on the power of a special treasure."

White Snake Sage lifted the three-inch-tall pink lady with a golden ring on it.

Her other small foot also bore a golden ring.

"What is this, a Noble Phantasm?" Uchiha Ran furrowed her brow.

"Yes, Master Ran."
