Chapter 15: The Cop Buddies

Nyrissa turned her stunned gaze to Ryan, who was chuckling with Natalie. He could tell that the sight of Frank and his best impression of a helpless baby had affected Natalie’s opinion of him. When he had first seen her, he knew that she was doing her best to hide her fear of the man who had probably intimidated her all her life. And that was the nicest thing Frank could have done. However, the realization that he was nothing but a coward had helped her see the truth of the matter.

“So, what is going to happen to him now?” Nyrissa asked Ryan.

“I am going to call one of our friends and ask them to drop by and pick him up,” Ryan said, holding his phone up to show the phone number of someone named Sam.

Before Nyrissa could ask any questions, Ryan hurried into the back room and made a quick phone call. He didn’t give her many details, leaving that up to Quentin to handle. Ryan just told her there was a problem and that he needed her and her partner Paul to come by and help out.
