Nyrissa froze as she saw the look on the man's face, combined with the scar along one side of his lip, enhancing the man's look of cruelty, sending a bolt of fear through her.


In the reflective glass, she watched as the man shoved Quentin to the side and came right at her. Instinct had Nyrissa dropping to the ground, trying to protect herself from the violence the man had written in every line of his body. 


Pain bloomed through Nyrissa's side as the man's knee connected with her ribs as he tripped over her and went tumbling across the floor. Nyrissa gasped as she tried to get air flowing back into her bruised lungs. Forcing herself up, she turned to keep her eyes on the man that had attacked her. She had no idea what he wanted or why he was after her, but the fear she felt was all too real for her to ignore.
