Pain

I opened my eyes and found myself in an unfamiliar room. I saw the fan moving on the ceiling. I tried to look at my side but I felt pain in my head.

"Ahh!"

I tried to move my hand to grab my head. I noticed a bag of saline was connected to my hand. I was shocked and looked around.

I saw some medical equipment and a few beds by the side of my bed with a few patients lying on them.

I panicked and looked around for mom. But I couldn't find her. Suddenly I remembered what happened before I lost consciousness.

~Flashback~

We were excited about the trip and were chatting about it in the taxi. I was excited as this will be my first trip to another country.

Suddenly I heard mom shouting "Ethan!" Before I could understand what happened she hugged my head to her chest and shield me with her body when I felt a large impact.

~Flashback end~

"Mom! Mom!" I panicked and got up from the bed. I was searching the room with my eyes for my mother.

Suddenly a girl wearing a nurse uniform came inside the room hearing me shout and scream.

"Please calm down. There are other patients here." She said

"Where is my mother? Where is she?" I grabbed her arm and asked her without listening to her.

"Sir, please calm down first. I will tell you." She said again and told me to stay calm.

I was anxious and worried. How could I stay calm? It was my mother. All kinds of bad thoughts come to my mind.

"Sir, your mother is Alive." She said by grabbing my hand as if worried that I will have a panic attack.

Hearing her I felt something heavy left in my body. I looked at her and asked, "where is she?"

She nodded and said "Sir, can you please sit? I will call the doctor. You will see you….."

"Ethan!" But before she could finish another exclamation came from the door. I immediately recognise the voice.

I turned and saw a dark flash who ran into my embrace and hugged me tighter.

"I was so worried," Aisha said while sobbing.

"Aisha! Where is mom? What happened?" I asked her while hugging her back.

"Your car had an accident. The driver died on the spot luckily you and aunty survived." She said,

"Really? Thank god. Where is mother?" I felt relief that mom was okay.

"Aunty…." She didn't say anything after that. It's as if she was hesitating.

I felt a grip on my heart. "What? What happened to mom?"

Aisha moved back and looked at me with red and teary eyes. She grabbed my arm tighter. The nurse left already to call the doctor.

"Aunty… she… she is in C..Coma." She spilled the sentence with difficulty and in a trembling voice.

It was like a thunder ring a few centimetres away from my ear. I had difficulty breathing and felt dizzy.

I was about to fall when Aisha quickly grabbed me by my arm and continued to cry while hugging me.

"I… I want to see mom." I told her softly without any liveliness in my voice. It sounds dead to the listener.

"Umm!" She nodded her head and walked towards the door while holding my arm. My leg followed her unconsciously.

I felt heavy for some reason but I knew that I had to go. My body listened to me.

The doctor saw us when we were about to leave the room. He tried to stop me. But I didn't reply and continued to move outside.

He could only sigh and let me go. He didn't leave and followed us from behind.

After a few minutes of walking, we reached the cabin. I saw aunt Rukhsar sitting in front of the room. She immediately stood up and came to me and hugged me with relief and worry.

I didn't even respond to her. Aisha was still crying and aunty kept hugging me. As for me,

I looked inside the cabin through the glass and saw my mother lying on the bed with many pieces of medical equipment attached to her body. Her eyes are closed as if she is sleeping.
