Sunglasses and Redhead's Past (3)

And like that, Nami joined Baroque Works and started to draw maps of the islands in East Blue as she grew stronger and closer to Masterson and Carol.

2 Weeks later.

Masterson and Nami sailed through the sea capturing one pirate after the other.

And in those 2 weeks, Nami showed her amazing navigating skills to all the agents on board the ship as they hunted a pirate crew through two storms without losing any agents.

The agents were slowly starting to heed Nami's orders after that and started to treat her as a Billion agent especially after seeing how fast she was improving in her strength under Masterson's mentorship.

To the point that she could fight against 10 million agents alone. (A.N: remember she is still 16 years old so she is still weak and with Masterson's guides she will slowly grow stronger and stronger)

Along the way, they meet Two kind and trustworthy men, whose names are Johnny and Yosaku.

"Please let us join you!" Johnny and Yosaku said as they bowed toward Masterson, after learning of his identity.

They heard of his amazing feats of defeating Arlong, and then without any rest, he continued his strike as he captured many pirates with a bounty over 5 million in just one week.

Johnny and Yosaku were inspired by him to hunt as many pirates as they could, but unfortunately, they weren't strong enough or had the information-gathering power of B. W like Mr. Sniper.

They were only able to capture 3 pirates with bounties of 4 to 5 million berries in those 2 weeks.

"...Why do you want to join Baroque Works?" Masterson felt a little bit skeptical when he heard their request since this week either the pirates or marines tried to join his ship to spy on his movement, but he was able to figure out their plans and swiftly deal with them.

"To be strong like you" Johnny tried to put a calm expression on his face, but he couldn't hide the nervousness in his eyes that said otherwise.

"Stop lying Johnny, we want to have our name spread around the East Blue! " Yosaku answered honestly as he gave Johnny the stinky eyes.

"Hah!" Johnny returned it by sticking his tongue out, only for Yosaku to grab it as he laughed while Johnny cried out in pain and surprise.

"Heheheh! Nami look! He grabbed his tongue! He grabbed it!" Carol was laughing loudly as she pointed at the two grown-ups.

"Cut it out you two! you are setting a bad example for Carol!" Nami yelled angrily as he punched them in the head, which made Carol laugh even greater than before.

"Sigh..." Masterson sighed as he looked at their shenanigans, his doubt slowly went away as he looked at them because usually, the spies don't try to stand out like those two, and besides even if they are spies, he will find out about it after a thorough check up on their background and so he says.

"Welcome to Baroque Works, Mr. Sunglasses and Mr. Redhead"

"Wow," Nami said as she looked at the bustling streets and the large fort that was under construction.

"Is it your first time in Loguetown?" Masterson asked when he saw the look of amazement and wonder coloring her face.

"Yeah, since the pirates who usually come here are pretty strong, so I stayed clear from here, What about you two?" Nami looked at Johnny and Yosaku at the end as she asked them with a curious look on her face.

"We come here sometimes when we need to cash in the bounty we caught in this area, but the marine captain here is a jerk" Jonny replied with his expression changing when he said the last part, Yosaku nodded his head as he said with a smug tone.

"Yeah. but now it's different since we are Baroque Works agents!"

"Bahaha yeah, the next time we meet him let's make the asshole kiss our feet Bahahaha," Johnny said with his expression changing into smugness and pride while his laughter style became more villainess.

"You're a genius bro, Bahahahah!" Yosaku joined him in the laughter as they looked at the sky while imagining this beautiful future.

Thud! Thud!

"Ahhh!"

"Ahhh!"

Johnny cried out in pain, which was immediately followed by Yosaku crying out as while, who also suddenly got punched on their head by Nami.

Nami switched into her devil mode as fire started to spew out of her eyes and a devil horn grew on her head as she yelled at the two laughing idiots.

"How many times do I have to tell you two to stop cursing around Carol!!"

She then looked at Carol as she slowly calmed down but still cared a stern look on her face as she said.

"Coral don't ever say that bad word alright."

Carol nodded her head obediently as she listened to her big sister.

Nami suddenly felt attacked by how obedient and cute Carol was to the point that she squealed out loud.

"Kya! you're so cute!!" As she rushed to hug Carol tightly.

"Hehe, your cute too Big sis Nami!" Carol said as she snuggled in Nami's embrace.

"Cough... Cough... if it's your first here, then how about letting Johnny and Yosaku take you and Carol on a tour around Loguetown after we finish the registering process?" Masterson said as they walked toward the Fort.

He wished he could go with them but unfortunately, Mr.1 wanted to meet him as soon as possible to discuss something important.

"That would be good, and are we heading towards that building," Nami said as she looked in the Fort's direction with curiosity peeking through her voice

"Huh, right! I forgot to introduce it to you three" Masterson said as he smiled faintly, even though he doesn't like being part of Baroque Works it can't be said the same for those three.

Who either were rescued by it or heard many great things about B.W, besides he didn't tell them about how he was recruited as it might negatively impact their view of B.W.

He will leave it until he can gather some evidence of B.W's corrupt motives and recruit more people to his cause as he still felt something fishy about them, and he doesn't want the three until he has enough evidence.

(A.N: He still doesn't know about Neathormel City or the illegal stuff Baroque Works sells or manufactures and he doesn't know Nami, Johnny, and Yosaku well enough to tell them everything he has on his mind as he still sees them as kids that need to be nurtured and taken care of.)

"This is the headquarters of Baroque Works in the East Blue, Eastormel Fort" Masterson introduced them to the Fort as well as explained that the land used to be an old hospital and was brought 1 month ago as well as the surrounding neighborhood.

Eastormel was in its beginning stages of construction, Right now only the first floor was built, so right now Mr.1 and his trusted agents were using some of the old houses near the fort to lead all the agents in The East Blue.

As Masterson was explaining everything to Nami and the two men, they arrived near the front gate of the fort that was under construction.

The place was filled to the brim with workers who were busy building the fort as well as agents, who were training some of the normal citizens on how to fight in the front yard.

"Please let me prove myself!!!"

Suddenly a yell could be heard from within the front yard, it startled a lot of people, they looked in that direction as they either sighed and continued working or said.

"He is at it again?"

"Looks like it, how long has he been doing this?"

"For the last 3-no 4 days right, Sigh... the kid got guts at the very least"

"Guts? Hmph! if he had it he would have already gone hunting pirates on his own instead of begging to be part of Baroque Works" one of the agents said, he had gotten fed up with that brat.

"But... you do know that he is blind right?" One of the workers as he looked in the direction of the commotion with pity in his eyes.

'Blind? interesting...' Masterson thought after he listened to what the agents and workers said, he looked at Nami and said "Let go and see what's happening there"

"Sure," Nami nodded her head as she and Johnny and Yosaku followed after him with Carol in her hands.

"Please just give me one chance, just ONE!"

As they approached the front yard they would see a boy, who was a slim tan-skinned teenager with medium-length long black curly hair that covered his eyes, prominent lips, and a long nose.

The boy was bowing toward the two agents who were looking at the boy with helplessness and pity in their eyes as one of them said.

"Sigh... Sorry kid, you know the rules, we can't give you even one chance since we will be punished"

Baroque Works had a rule that if you had any disability you aren't even allowed to take the test.

Some might call it cruel to not give them even a chance, but they were too rigid and wouldn't bunch.

"..."

The boy looked at the ground angrily, he understood what the agent said but he couldn't accept it since they were his only hope of growing stronger and avenging his...

His Village...

Besides Baroque Works wasn't even the first place he went to after the incident.

Instead, he went to the Marines who didn't even let him walk through the door after knowing that he was blind.

And so he could only come here...

To Baroque Works, who he still partially blames for the incident if only they didn't come...

If only they didn't come... Then there might have been a chance that his village wouldn't have been destroyed...

By Kor... No the Pirate captain who wouldn't drastically change his plans after Baroque Work arrives in the East Blue.

"What's going on here?" Masterson said as he arrived at the commotion site with the gang, his voice startled the blind boy, who felt a great presence from Masterson who was standing near him.

As for the two agents after seeing who the man was, they immediately bowed as they cupped their hands behind their backs while greeting their superior.

"Welcome Back, Mr.Sniper!!"

"Welcome Back, Mr.Sniper!!"

Their greet reverberated all around the construction site and even outside, alerting everyone of Mr.Sniper's arrival.

"Welcome Back, Mr.Sniper!!"

Everyone in the front yard even the workers and citizens quickly followed the two agents' lead as they greeted Masterson loudly.

"What!" Nami's eyes widen when everybody started to bow in Masterson's direction.

"that Mr.Sniper for you" Johnny looked at Masterson with admiration when he saw everyone bowing to him, Yosaku looked around with widened eyes as he was speechless at the sight of everyone bowing in their direction.

"Rise, and go back to work," Masterson said as he caught the look of shock and admiration in Nami and Johnny's eyes, he then quickly looked back at the longnose kid, who was staring intently at him.

The blind teen was shocked by what he felt, it was his first time feeling everyone even the tough billion agent, who was the head instructor here was bowing toward this man.

Everyone heeded Mr. Sniper and stopped bowing and went back to work.

"What's going on here agent?" Masterson said as he stared at the longnose boy, he could see a little bit of the boy's upper face, it had 5 scars running through it making what he heard about the boy being blind true.

It saddens and angered Masterson, at how cruel the world is sometimes that it wouldn't even spare children from its dark clutches.
