FOUR WAY BATTLE

"Winner of the first quarterfinal match goes to Dave Starks. Due to the current condition of the platform, the competition will be put on hold till the next day"

After announcing that to the audience, Tang mysteriously vanished from the platform but right before he vanished from the platform, his expression has a slight ecstasy in them.

"How is this possible?" asked Viona with a dazed expression while standing motionlessly on the platform

'What have I done?' thought Dave as he looked at Viona helplessly. But before he could decide to help her, a 12 years old boy suddenly stood between them and pointed at Dave while speaking angrily.

"Look at what you have done to my Viona. You better compensate for the state Viona is currently in or else you can feel my wrath"

"Jake, it's not my fault if she isn't strong enough to face me so I don't owe any compensation to anyone"

"You..."

"Ok, that's enough Dave and Jake!"

After hearing someone telling them to shut up, They both turned to the person to reply. But after seeing who it was, they stopped themselves from replying and also lowered their head when the person along with two people landed on the damaged platform.

While all these were happening, the audiences were slowly leaving the coliseum in other to prepare for tomorrow.

"Dave, you should go easy on your opponent when it's just a sparring match".

"Yes master"

"And you Jake, don't go around ordering people on what to do. It might lead to unnecessary situations"

"Yes sir Long"

After reprimanding the two students, he quickly called the school's medic to take Viona away along with Jake. After that, he turned to his two friends and said proudly.

"So how do you see my most cherished disciple?"

After giving Dave an intense look for a few minutes, Lawrence finally broke the silence.

"Your luck is really good Old Long"

"Even my disciple that is currently away can't hold a candle to this monster"

After hearing the replies from his two friends, Long said proudly that is on another level.

"Hahaha, that's a given. It's not every day we see monsters like him"

Suddenly, Long's proud full face changed to that of panic after hearing what Manuel asked Dave.

"Say, what did you use in defending that last attack from that girl?"

After hearing what Manuel said, Dave's expression became solemn as he sneaked a glance at Long without his master's friend knowing.

"Umm... I think it's not right to know everything about my dear disciple"

"But I didn't ask for his origin, I just asked about what method he used in defending that attack" replied Manuel with a confused expression. But Long replied quickly after getting a hint from what Manuel said.

"What if he told you the method which unknowingly to us was his trump card?. In the future, we might be in a dangerous situation because of knowing my dear disciple trump card".

After pondering on what Long said for some minutes, a single thought came into both Manuel's and Lawrence's minds.

'That makes sense

"Ok then, we won't ask again"

Long finally sighed in relief after what Lawrence said. Then he said while holding Dave's hand.

"Why don't we continue this discussion when we get to my residence, we don't want to hinder his rest for tomorrow"

"Yeah that's true, Let us go quickly"

After agreeing to what Long said, They quickly walked out of the coliseum while some workers entered the coliseum to fix the damaged platform.

In the coliseum back alley, a middle-aged man is currently standing at one of the dark corners of the alley whispering on the phone. He wore the Academy's officials' uniform of black and white stripes and plain black trousers. This person is none other than Tang who is whispering on the phone in ecstasy.

"Yes Sir, I am sure that he is the one that caused the phenomenon a year ago"

"So do you have any suggestions on how we are going to quicken the recruitment of this year's students to the capital"

After pondering what the person on the phone said, Tang finally said with a resolute expression

"Sir I think it's best we do a four-way battle among the semi-finalist to end this competition quickly"

After arriving at Long's residence, Dave quickly excused himself from the gathering of aged men toward his bedroom. After finally sitting in a meditative state on his bed, he began to review what he just experienced today.

'Based on the people I have faced today, I can see that I didn't progress much ahead of the other students. But that is a good thing, they will help me increase my battle prowess which I am seriously lacking.'

After thinking up to this point, he immediately left that thought and began to inspect the current state of his body. As soon as he began to inspect his body, he smiled awkwardly as he thought.

'Looks like what master said is right. This peak Rank D Demons shadow takes a toll on someone.'

Although Dave just looks pale on the outside, he was completely drained on the inside. His spherical energy core which is located in the middle of his chest along with his heart was empty but is currently accumulating black and white energies. His mental power was completely dried up but is currently accumulating its fluid too.

'According to how things will be tomorrow, I will return to my peak right before my semi-final match.'

After analyzing up to this point, he simply laid down on his bed to sleep in other to be ready for tomorrow not knowing that things won't be as he planned.
