DEVOURING TALISMAN

"What are we still doing here!?, two students are still in the pagoda with that devil!" The woman among the trio suddenly shouted after coming back from the dazed expression she was in.

After being jolted awake by the woman's shout, Lucas replied in a hasty tone as he dashed toward the pagoda.

"You're right Cynthia, Let's quickly rescue those children"

As the trio was about to forcefully break into the pagoda from the roof, a sudden tremor appeared all over the pagoda as the roof exploded right in front of the trio.

After successfully activating their defensive spells against the explosion, Lucas asked with a confused expression.

"What just happened?"

But before Cynthia or Steve could reply to Lucas's question, a strange voice suddenly spoke from inside the pagoda.

"Help me!!"

When the trio turned toward the pagoda to see who spoke, their expression quickly turned into disbelief as Lucas shouted.

"Dave!!"

Right now Dave was seen coming out of the pagoda from the roof as a sphere of blinding light enveloped him. Where ever Dave passes in the air, a void will appear as various elements will be seen inside the thin void.

"Do you know him?" Cynthia asked as she looked at the floating light sphere with a solemn gaze since she felt an aura of a Rank A practitioner from that sphere!

"His name is Dave Starks, he is one of the students I saved from the previous mission the higher-ups sent me to accomplish" Lucas answered with the same solemn look on his face.

"Well, this calls for a celebration" Steve suddenly remarked with a smirk on his face. But what Cynthia said next immediately changed his expression into a solemn one.

"With how that sphere destroys the fabric of space just by existing, I doubt that we have the chance to even think of celebration"

"But how are we going to destroy that light sphere without affecting the boy?" Lucas asked with a worried expression.

After pondering on what Lucas said for a few minutes while the light sphere kept expanding its presence in the environment which gave birth to more void tunnels, Cynthia sighed as a talisman suddenly appeared on her palm.

"We can only use this devouring talisman to forcefully drag that boy out of the light sphere"

"But won't that affect his energy core?" Steve suddenly asked with a surprised expression on his face.

"This is the only way of bringing the boy out of that sphere without him dying" Lucas suddenly answered that question after pondering on the matter for some minutes with a gloomy expression.

"Well pray nothing unexpected happens as I begin," Cynthia said as she went closer to the sphere to activate the talisman.

When she was just ten meters away from the sphere, she began to activate the spell. After a few minutes of failing in the activation of the talisman because of the chaotic energies and the many void tunnels that surrounded her, she finally successfully activated the talisman

After Cynthia successfully activated the devouring talisman, a five-meter-wide whirlwind suddenly appeared beside her as it began to drag everything in its range towards Itself.

Chaotic energies, the roof of the pagoda, and even the void in its range were quickly drawn to the whirlwind as it absorbed it and got faster in Its spinning as its range began to expand.

After some moments of absorbing and expanding its range, it finally got to the light sphere and a clash occurred right after. The blinding light from the sphere began to expand as it tried to fight off the suction force from the devouring whirlwind.

But all the sphere's effort seems to be futile since the suction force began to draw in that blinding light towards the whirlwind and made it much faster In its spin. After breaking through the sphere's defenses and getting to the sphere itself, Cynthia suddenly interfered in Its mission of dragging the sphere towards its body.

'Now let's get you out of there' Cynthia thought as she gave some instructions to the devouring talisman with her mental power. After giving her instruction about the talisman, she simply stood beside it to get ready in catching the boy as the suction force suddenly changed its approach towards the sphere.

The suction force suddenly enveloped the sphere but didn't drag it towards the whirlwind. Instead, it seemed to be getting into it as it pulled anything inside out. After some minutes of dragging anything inside the sphere out, a human head slowly began to come out of the sphere.

'It's working!' Cynthia thought as she had a victorious expression on her face while staring at the boy that was slowly coming out of the sphere.

Right now Dave's face could be seen clearly from where the trio was but what they saw made them have shocked expressions. Dave's eyes were completely white along with his hair. Not only that but a diamond-shaped mark was seen on his forehead.

"I wonder what is going on in that sphere," Steve said with a shocked expression on his face.

"We will naturally know when the boy gets out of the sphere completely" Lucas as he also had a gloomy expression on his face. But the trio failed to notice that a cloud has began to gather right above the sphere.

'Almost done' Cynthia said as she got ready to get Dave who has gotten out of the sphere halfway. But right when Dave was about to completely come out of the sphere, an orange lightning bolt the size of a hand suddenly came out of that same cloud and crashed at the sphere.

"Dammit!" Cynthia cursed as she saw Dave strangely going back into the sphere with more speed than when he was coming out. But right when she was about to repeat the method she used to bring dave out of that sphere, a calm suddenly rang out all over the area.

"Don't disturb the awakening of an element creator"
