Mute Freak

"Mom asked me to come visit since it's the weekend I may or may not sleep over, I'll make sure to remind her to quit picking on you, "

"Thank you so much, "she said, planting a kiss on his lips, he kissed her back and pulled out again before making way to the table and picking up his car keys.

He drove straight to Bea's home even if it was a little bit far and he arrived when it was almost noon. He walked out of the vehicle and threw his keys at a security guard - to park it at the garage, before walking into his house after adjusting the pair of white wire frame glasses sitting on his face.

"Hey, where's my mom?" He asked two maids who were admiring him from the corner.

"S-she's at the dining room " a lady replied with a shaky voice because he caught them red-handed.

He looked at both of them before heading to the dining room, when he got there he suddenly felt a surge of excitement go through his body when he saw his mom and the girl from the pool engaging in a conversation.

The girl looked even more beautiful as she wore a pair of black denim jeans and jacket with a black crop, black sneakers and a dark shade of lipstick to match, her long silky black hair was packed into a smooth pony tail and he remembered the scene from the pool.

Anita was also there and the second Ivy's blue eyes met his she looked away,she suddenly felt uncomfortable unlike Ian who looked happy because Bea knew her.

Ian sat on a chair and placed his hands on the table,the guard he gave his keys earlier came in and gave it back to him. Bea cleared her throat to speak after the guard left.

"I wanted to tell you something Ian but I'd like to inform you that this was a really hard decision we all had to make and it hurts that it's only for your benefit,"

" What do you mean?" Ian asked, adjusting his sitting position and looking at the three ladies seated in front of him.

"Ian, you've refused to accept that you aren't okay which is why you bluntly refused to pay for any therapy sessions,I hired Tania to help you and- "

" She's doing a good job,"

"By making things worse..each day I keep asking myself if my dreams of you ever having a family would work but that's almost Impossible... infact it is Impossible,so I finally found a way to fix this once and for all,"

"What way?mom just go straight to the point,"

"This is Ivy,she has total mutism and I don't care if you want this or not but you'll be getting married to her on Monday."

For a few seconds, Ian froze.. he was still trying to heal from the first stab - she's a mutism patient and Bea just had to drop the bomb - you'll be getting married to her.

Niel was right, he wasn't going to end up with Tania after all instead he was going to end up with this doll like figure. FOR GOOD.

"Hold on a sec.. y'all are joking now, huh?"

"This is not a joke Ian! " Anika corrected.

" This is total s××t!, I'm not going to get married to a mute freak! "he yelled and Bea stood up and slapped him so hard that Ivy flinched she wasn't hurt instead she left the room and Anika followed.

Ivy felt it was a mother and son discussion and it would be best to leave them alone even if she felt horrible for causing trouble.

"Mute freak?,total sh××? the only freak here is you Ian and I regret that stupid day I gave birth to a jerk like you... giving birth to you ruined my dreams but I didn't want to see you as a mistake instead I raised you until that sad excuse of worthless creation called your father left us for that disgusting fool! And you want to take after him? Go ahead but you're getting married to Ivy and that's final!"

" Because I ruined your dreams you have to ruin mine by forcing me to get married to a mute. How is she going to say yes on the altar? And you think your life is horrible?" He yelled, standing up.

" Yes!"

"Then fix yourself in mine, I had to grow up without you or Dad because he left and you were always busy,too busy for almost everything. For my games, presentations, science fairs and even my graduation! I got mocked because I didn't have a dad and he left my mom. You think it's easy?"

"That's your definition of pathetic? I had to work day and night to build the future you're wasting now, I didn't enjoy my childhood and I know how you feel because my mom left us!"

"Hallelujah! We both went through the same thing but one of us didn't have to get married to a mute!"

"I just can't with you right now...listen to me Mr Ian Kyle Kim, if you do not get married to Ivy then get ready to lose me as well. I rather die than to be a mother to a moron who doesn't listen to me!"

Ian didn't say anything he simply walked out of the house and headed to the garage. Ivy ran into the room to console Bea who was crying on the floor.

Ian ferociously started the car in annoyance everything that Bea said kept ringing in his head - so loud he was slowly losing his mind.

In a few days he would be a married man and not only did he lose his bet he didn't know how to break the news to Tania.

A few minutes ago he was excited to see Ivy but why was her hurt that she couldn't talk? That was probably the reason she kept laughing at the pool. How could someone endowed with that amount of beauty be voiceless? It was totally absurd. It felt like he was getting married to a doll and not a human.
