CHAPTER NO:3

She found herself in a strange room. It was very big. The four walls of the room were painted white. The ceiling was black and there were no windows anywhere. She looked around her. She was laying on the only bed in the room. She noticed that she was wearing a white dress like the one worn by the patients she tried to sit up but winced. There was a very harsh pain in her shoulder. Just then all her memory of the night rushed back to her, how their plan failed and she was attacked by those gruesome creatures. She tried to remember who saved her but she couldn't. Her throat felt like sand paper and she felt very hungry. Her pain was getting worst. She decided to shout for someone so some could come to her. She tried calling out twice but when no one came she lost all hope. She tried to sleep again but soon she was haunted by nightmares again.

She found herself in her childhood home. She saw her mother ripped into pieces. Then her mother's severed head spoke to her "You could have saved me. You are the reason Jason died and I died."

She tried to deny but the scene shifted again and she found herself in the front of the bank where she was attacked. She could see the demons change and attack her.

Then she woke up panting hard. She saw Luke sitting on a chair beside her bed. He was looking at her and smiling looking relieved. He had dark circles under his eyes and his cheeks looked sunken.

She tried to say something but she couldn't find her voice.

"Finally our sleeping beauty is up from her beauty sleep. I was so worried about you." Luke told her.

He handed her a glass of water, she gulped down the whole glass in one breath and asked him "I woke up a while ago and couldn't find you."

"I went to ask the doctor for your next dose of medicine. Anyways how are you feeling?"

"The pain in the shoulder is bad. but how long have I been asleep? And who saved me last night? Is someone hurt…?" She showered Luke with questions.

"To answer your first question you have been sleeping for the past 7 days." Kate's jaw dropped. How could she have slept so long and she was still very tired. Luke completely ignored and continued. "And for your second question we saved you along with some help and.."

Kate cut him of midsentence. "So you could see them? And who helped you?"

"First of all listen I wanted to tell you about everything as soon as we met but I had orders to just protect you but now I can tell you everything without putting you in danger." When Kate raised her eyebrows questioningly he continued.

"So there are many demons and other threats in the world normal humans need protection from. So we are a part of an agency which protects humans against those threats. Our organization include people who have super natural powers like controlling fire, ice, water, animals, insects and so on. Mostly these powers are hereditary but sometimes they happen without any assisting with the genes. The most powerful users are fire and ice users. Now you are valuable because you are the daughter of the most powerful fire and ice user of all times and miraculously you inherited both the powers. Therefore you are very… " Before Luke could continue Kate burst into a fit of giggles. "You mean… I have the most powerful powers and…. I don't even know that…and my parents were… most powerful wizards of all time." Kate said while laughing.

"Okay so now I'll be serious tbh I don't have any powers nor did my mother." Kate said

"Listen to me first. There was a pact signed between humans and demons that they will not attack humans as long as humans won't bother them. But after 400 years the pact was broken. 16 years ago the pact was broken when your parents were killed. You were so powerful that even as a child you would burn of freeze things, when your parents died, a lady was assigned to take care of you. But she was not powerful as you. And in order to hide you, you were sent to live with humans tilln you wer old enough. And to stop your power from brusting we put a stop to your powers. You can regain them back whenever you want. " Luke explained.

"So what you mean is that I my mother wasn't actually my mom…and who exactly killed them?"Kate asked.

"So the shadow power is actually the most powerful and rare power. The only shadow user of all time was your brother, as he grew up, he started feeling superior in power. Not soon after you were born, he realized that you were everyone's golden child now. Even before you were one your brother turned evil and joined the demons. He made his own army of demons and attacked your parents and wanted to kill you because of his envy nut your parents saved you and died. But fortunately you were saved" Luke said.

"Are you telling the truth. My parents, are they actually dead?" Kate whispered.

"yes." Luke answered.
