Ranking up(1)

I woke up the next morning and stretch my body to get ready for a new day.

Since I didn't have any immediate plans for the morning I grabbed my cloak and headed out the door to go to the guild hall.

I walked out of the inn and arrived at the front and walked in and went straight to the quest board.

I looked at it trying to find a mission that I could do, but nevertheless there was nothing note worthy, I then started to look at the higher ranked missions and they were all just the way I wanted them to be,

I sighed and then decided to ask the front register how many more missions I needed to take to rank up.

She then replied "You need to complete nine more missions to rank up to 'E' rank."

I nodded my hand and walked back to the quest board and looked for some quests I could complete quickly.

There were quests like 'collect some herbs out the forest for a healing potion.' or 'scout the forest for any unknown dangers.'

Obviously I choose the one for collecting herbs and brought it to the front desk to accept it.

She quickly grabbed it in approval and I walked out of the guild hall.

The description said of the herb being a plant on the ground that had blue edges and had seven leaves in total.

I headed to the forest expecting it to be a rough time to find them, but unexpectedly they were pretty easy to get, they weren't that far from the kingdom and they were easy to pick.

So I quickly grabbed a decent amount and stored it inside the storage, and headed back to the kingdom.

I guessed that since they were this easy to find they weren't worth much so I didn't bother too pick up a lot of extra ones for myself.

---

Once I made it back I turned in the herbs and I was given 10 copper coins.

The money rank in this world starting from the lowest was copper, silver, gold, platinum.

Every hundred coins equals one coin of the one above it, so 10 copper coins was a very little amount. I walked back to the quest board and saw a similar mission, but instead of the plant being blue around the edges, it was purple and had 5 petals.

---

Once I made it into the forest I started searching for them, although it was a bit harder than the last ones, it wasn't really noticeable.

This time I collected more than the last time and extra for myself.

I then headed back to the kingdom and turned in the plants and was given 17 copper coins.

I decided to just keep doing these missions back and forth until I ranked up to 'E' rank.

...

I was finally going to turn in my last mission and walked inside of the guild hall that was bustling with people and went to the front desk.

I then turned in the herbs and she said "Congrats, you have officially reached E rank."

I nodded in satisfaction and went to the quest board to see what people of 'E' rank could take.

There were plenty of missions ranging from 'Kill 7 great bears and retrieve their claws' or 'Kill 6 earth snakes and retrieve the fangs' And many other missions that involved things of that nature.

---

I decided to go with the great bear quest, and unlike the other quest sheets, these ones had the location of then beasts on the bottom of them.

I snatched it off the quest board and went to the counter to accept the mission.

---

I made it out the gate of the kingdom, and the location from the quest sheet said they were at the right of the forest far in.

I headed to that area by travelling on the trees until I found them roaming around.

The environment they were in had a lot of boulders everywhere, so It would be a hassle to fight on the ground.

So I decided to stay on the trees and kill them in silent, even though the knife was of low rank I was sure it could still pierce the bears.

They were grey in color and had abnormally large claws that was covered in what seemed to be stone, and they had pitch black eyes.

I then saw one walking around on it's guard ready for anything to happen, even if it was like this I could still kill them without alerting the others.

I took out the knife from the storage and looked at the bear with all my attention.

I then moved my arm backwards like I was ready to throw something and threw the knife aiming at it's neck.

It then travelled at a fast speed and went straight towards it's neck silently and stabbed it easily.

The bear showed no sign of resistance because it died almost immediately, without wasting any time I jumped down and ripped off all it's claws while blood gashed out of them and leaped back onto a tree beginning my search again.

I had to travel a bit further this time to find another one, this one was eating on a carcass of a fire wolf with it's back turned towards me.

I readied my knife like the last time and launched it to the back of it's head and it pierced it's brain with blood flowing out of it.

It flopped to the ground on top of the carcass it was eating instantly and I went down and collected the claws from the corpse of the bear.

---

I did this until I collected all the claws of seven great bears and I was ready to go back.

...

Once I made it to the guild hall I turned in the claws and planted them onto the counter.

The lady looked at me in a stoked face and said "You seem to be really strong..."

I replied back with "What do you mean?"

She replied "The average person of you're rank would require at least two hours to finish this, and even a person one rank higher would still take a maximum of one hour to finish, yet you did it at barely thirty minutes."

I went silent when she said this and said in my head "So, does that mean that I learn faster than anyone else? I need answers but I surely don't want to ask her."

After I got out of my reverie I nodded my head and said "Well, if that's you're way of giving me a compliment, than thank you."

Before she could say anything I went back to the quest board and started looking for another quest.

"Kill seven earth snakes..." I said under my breath and thought about if I should take it or not.

In the end I still grabbed it and brought it to the front desk and she gladly accepted it, and I went on the complete the quest
