Please

In the dead of night, in a parking lot with only one car left situated under a light pole. "Man, I hate working the late shift." He exclaimed with frustration as he struggled to get out his keys. As he finally pulls out his keys, he looks up and sees two small figures off in the distance. As he strains his eyes to see what they could be, he realizes that they are children. He tries to call to them, "Hey, are you ok? What are you doing out here so late?" But they didn't respond, all they did was stand there looking in his direction.

He looked around again to make sure that there was really no one else around, he turned back to see that the two had disappeared. Shaking it off as if they just left, he kept heading to his car. As he approached his car the light above started to flicker on and off. Unbeknownst to him with each flicker the two children seemed to get closer and closer. He started to feel a fear, something breathing down his neck like if something was just about to reach out for him. As the feeling was about to reach, he finally was able to get in his car.

As he shut the door, he breathed a sigh of relief, as he put the keys in the ignition and started the car he looked out of the driver side window. There to his surprise was the two children, one was taller than the other. Both had baggy oversized clothes that made it look like they might have been living on the street for sometime. Both had hoods pulled up over their heads, and with the light coming from above he couldn't make out their features. But even if he couldn't fully see their eyes, he could tell that they were both staring straight into his eyes.

He had such a feeling of dread running down his body, that he was paralyzed, then the kids started to talk. "Please, can you help us? Can you let us in?" The children said almost in unison. He was stunned even though he could hear them talk, and with what little he could make out of their shadowy covered faces, he did not see their mouths move.

Again they asked him, "Please, can you help us? Can you let us in?"

He was about to roll down his window, when the fear creeped up spine again. Something was telling him that if he opened anything that it would be the end. He shook his head toward the kids, not daring to speak. They repeated their plea "Please, can you help us? Can you let us in?" As he was gathering the courage to refuse them, the light flickered out for the briefest of seconds, and when the light returned the smaller of the two was on the other side of the vehicle. Again they repeated their request.

"Please, can you help us? Can you let us in?"

He put the gear in drive and floored the gas pedal, tires spinning as he left the parking lot. He looked in his rear view mirror for the reassurance that he left them behind, but as he looked there was no sign of the two. He rushed home, trying to put the strange encounter out of his mind. He pulls into his driveway, with relief washing down his body that he made it home. He opens his door, walks in ready to say goodbye to tonight's whole ordeal.

As he was about to shut the door he got that all too familiar tinge of fear. He slowly turns to look out the door and sees the taller of the two children. This time the hood was down off it's head and he could see the child's eyes, eyes that were big, unblinking and fully black. Not just fully dilated, but black no white at all. He tries to hit the door closed as he backs away, the door closes he runs farther into the house looking for the phone. He ran to the phone as he tried to dial for the police, that feeling of fear surges up from the depth of his stomach. As he looks up from the phone, the two children stand in front of him face to face with their demon-like eyes and they both say with an evil, unnatural grin on their faces.

"Thank you for helping us."
